About Raymond Pipe

Mostly retired British business executive with homes in Florida London and Spain. Some business contacts remaining -- but hoping to retire completely in Europe in the next few years. Fit enough to play golf as often as possible -- whilst flying model aircraft whenever the weather and time permits.Really love the Cost del Sol - and continue to live close to my villa in Spain, which I now rent for most of the year. Still travelling a lot, but will probably settle down next year!

Why Raymond Pipe chose West Costa del Sol

I purchased the villa in Spain in 2001. I loved the atmoshere of the whole sourrounding area --particularly Peurto Banus and Marbella. The interaction between these "holiday visitor" attractions is irresistable. San Pedro on the other hand --the nearest village to the villa has claerly been claimed by the local Spanish . Restaurants here are very Spanish and reflect the local inhabitants. It is this mixture of holiday atmoshere and local Spanish way of life which make the whole area so rich and enjoyable.

What makes this unique

The villa has a mixture of traditional Andulician style (the main bedroom is part of a traditional Andulician tower) - and modern living. Originally owned by a Dutch judge and his wife --hence the name "Las Pelucas" --the wigs!! It was updated ,extended and totally modernised by an Englishman 15 years ago -- and all I needed to do was furnish it to my style when I bought it in 2001. The enormous pool and extensive facilities promote provide a fabulous base for entertaining friends and families. I used to do a lot of that --but as I now concentrate on retirement am now content to rent out the property --so that others might enjoy it.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Villa is extremely spacious and laid out so that separate families and groups can live comfortably with as much privacy as they decide. A separate 'teenagers wing' outside the main villa allows families to co-exist with their offspring, whilst allowing maximum freedom of choice! The large lounge provides a central and gathering point to the villa for those relaxing evenings spent inside the villa. Easy access to the outside terraces from two of the ground floor bedrooms and both the lounge and dining room provides an airy relief for those warmer summer evenings. Outside: Large pool (14 x 6 metres), with plenty of outside furniture, including 12 loungers , numerous sun shades, cocktail tables and chairs. Separate inside pool room shower, toilet and basin, supplementing pool side shower. Terraces surround the villa, with outside dining tables and chairs able to accommodate up to 16 people at one sitting. A very old Wisteria provides welcome shade to a well laid out barbecue area. The round marble barbecue table (seats 8) forms the focal point to a traditional spit roast Spanish barbecue. For smaller groups that can't manage a roast pig in one meal--then a standard Webber kettle barbecue can accommodate up to around 20 diners depending on the cook's expertise! A full outside kitchen can be set up outside with suitable lighting and washing facilities all provided. Some families have been known to have all meals outside, cooking only the vegetables from the kitchen! Utility Room: Separate fully equipped laundry room. Includes two washing machines,two fridge freezers supplementing kitchen fridge, spin drier. Ironing , hand wash and large cleaning material storage area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen provided, including pool and bathroom towels and all bedding and bathroom accessories. Villa is cleaned once a week and linen/towels changed regularly. Additional maid services available on request.

Coast/Beach:

Numerous beautiful beaches are a short 5 to 10 minute drive from the villa.

Marbella beach, 11 kilometres is particularly attractive with numerous Spanish beach restaurants (chiringitos) providing the freshest possible fish lunches. A long walk along the 'Passio Maritimo' allows you to enjoy the beautiful seaviews. It can take you all the way to Puerto Banus and yet another restaurant selection.

Travel:

Most supermarkets restaurants and facilities are a short drive away --so a hire car rental is recommended. Nearest airports are both approximately 45 minutes drive away at Malaga and Gibralter. You will find Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, and Cadiz only a couple of hours away. All beautiful and famous Andalucian cities to visit. You also have the famous ski resort in Granada “Sierra Nevada.” Which is so different with its beautiful snow capped mountains and lush Pine forests.

Distances:

Nearest supermarkets and restaurants are a short 5 minute drive away. Puerto Banus is around 10 minutes (6 kilometres) by car, whilst Marbella is a little further at 11 kilometres. Estapona is approximately 15 minutes away at around 15 kilometres, whilst Rhonda is a mountainside drive 47 kilometres away. You will find Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, and Cadiz only a couple of hours away.

Further Details:

The nearby 'Sol' supermarket and local restaurants are a easy 5 minute drive away. Further choice is provided in nearby San Pedro (10 minutes away), where restaurants in this very Spanish town are excellent value.

We require a 30% booking deposit. Balance of rental and security deposit of £500 is payable 15 days before rental.Optional extras (normally selected in Winter months) include Pool heating in Winter (£150 per week) Similarly Central heating /air-conditioning available at £75 per week.

Changeover Day:
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, although sometimes negotiable depending on availability. Changeover departures before 12pm, arrivals after 4pm, except after prior arrangement.

Notes on prices:
Additional Supplement of £250 at Easter and Christmas applies.
Optional extras include pool winter heating (to 28 degrees ) at £150 per week.
Central heating (oil fired ). Additional maid services (one visit per week included in rental ) at E100 per visit by arrangement.
