About the property

SC343

Two fantastic properties that can be rented together for large groups or separately. Both are adjoining luxury holiday properties set high on a stunning spot in Crail with uninterrupted views to the sea and Isle of May. Located only 10 mins drive from St Andrews and an hour from Edinburgh, Crail makes a great base for a holiday in Fife and despite its proximity to the central belt of Scotland it couldn't feel further away from life's stresses and strains. And don't take our word for it - Skyscanner recently named Crail with a Top 10 position in their Most Beautiful Village in the UK Award !!

Also on our door step are some of the world's oldest and top rated golf courses including Crail Golfing Society, Kingbarns and The Old Course at St Andrews. Harbour House has plenty of space for up to 9 people to stay in style and comfort. The adjacent Harbour Cottage sleeps 2+1. From all windows there are amazing views to be had both out to sea and over rooftops down to the harbour. It is a unique spot indeed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was fantastic, so homely and well kitted out with top quality furnishings and fittings. The space provided 2 familes with 3 young children to have more than enough space and extra touch of the kids toys and books were an added bonus along with the bunk beds which were a huge hit! The location of the house is superb and we watched a beautiful sunrise over the sea from the living room each morning. At night, we enjoyed the wood burning stove as the winter weather went on outside!

The surrounding area has lots to offer and we enjoyed trips to Anstruther, St Andrews and of course spent time in Crail where we watched the fisherman come back and unload the crab and lobster, the kids were amazed.

Thanks again Lynne for the opportunity to share some family time at Harbour House, we’ll be back!

Thanks Lindsay

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Having ourselves holidayed at various villas around the world we are keen to recreate the best experiences possible for our guests. As such you’ll find furniture sourced from the likes of White Company or Feather & Black. Our bedding is Egyptian cotton and our towels (Cath Kidston, Orla Kiely or White Company) all fluffy and as new. You’ll find complementary L'Occitane, Molton Brown or White Company Shampoo and Conditioner in the bathrooms. In the kitchen you’ll find it stocked with ample crockery and glasses for all occasions as well as cleaning materials for you to use. You’ll also find a welcome basket filled with a few local goodies to get you started as well as a good bottle of wine. There's also free telephone calls nationally in the evening and daytime (honesty box for others please) as well as free wifi internet via BT. There's an i-pod / i-phone docking station in the kitchen for your use. Sorry no pets. Outside: Outstandingly relaxing and enclosed garden (belonging to Harbour House) close to the water's edge and only 50 metres from the ancient harbour. A little piece about the surrouding area: Crail is the oldest and the most photographed of the East Neuk villages. Indeed there's no doubt that Crail is one of the most picturesque and charming fishing villages you’ll ever visit. Having been confirmed as a Royal Burgh by Robert the Bruce in 1310 and more recently been described as a key part of Scotland’s East Coast Riviera, there are a wealth of places to see and things to do in the immediate vicinity. Located only 10 mins drive from St Andrews and an hour from Edinburgh, Crail makes a great base for a holiday in Fife and despite its proximity to the central belt of Scotland it couldn't feel further away from life's stresses and strains.

Beautiful quaint cottage with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We rented harbour cottage along with the harbour house. The two properties interconnected which was a great surprise. The cottage itself was well equipped and would be a lovely romantic weekend getaway for any couple. Views from the upstairs living area are amazing!!
