About the property

Pretty Stone Casita (cottage) between Pollensa and Port Pollensa, Mallorca - A Delightful Restored Stone Clad Villa Ideal to Enjoy the Peace and Quiet of a Mallorcan Life Style.

Accessed through private electric entrance gates, the property is situated in very attractive two acre grounds. Probably originally used to house the animals (as were most of the smaller buildings in the area) it has been re-designed and beautifully restored by the present owners. Look beyond the orange, lemon, fig trees, grape vine and palms for breathtaking views of the Tramontana Mountain range. The property features high beamed ceilings with cool exposed stone features, air conditioning and fans. A cozy wood burner is there for cooler days, should you visit us out of season.

The private, attractive mosaic tiled pool is approx 8 x 4m, and is close to the house and surrounded by a large terrace, with sunbathing areas and fruit trees. The depth of the pool goes from under one metre to two metres at the deep end, with four roman steps leading into the crystal clear waters. Relax on the swing hammock and simply ... enjoy.

At the front of the house is another large terrace with a roof overhang for alfresco dining in the shade if required. Here you will find the Bar-b-que and comfortable rattan sofas.

Being in a rural setting, with local agriculture, you will enjoy it here if you enjoy the sounds of the country and Mallorcan pace of life.

If you require extra accommodation for larger gatherings of family and friends, we have a larger villa which sleeps eight and is approached by its own gateway and drive at the other end of the two acre site. This has its own generously sized pool with all amenities and is cleverly screened by Mediterranean planting of yukkas, oleanders and palms.

About Bev & Joe Squier

We are Bev & Joe Squier and we live just north of Bristol, England and have been in property letting for many years so we believe we are in good stead to provide great accommodation with everything you will need for your stay and it is well received by everyone.

There are eight children in the extended family (!) and they all love their time on the island. (The ones in the picture have grown up a bit since then!!)

We are regularly down there at the casita, looking after and improving the property. Tough job, but somebody has to do it!

Bev & Joe Squier purchased this villa in 2005

Why Bev & Joe Squier chose Balearic Islands

We are both well travelled and fell in love with the area after spending several years exploring different parts of Europe for a holiday home including all the mainland Spanish coast and even as far as Croatia! Having looked around the island, this area seemed to fit the bill so well. The property is far enough away from the towns to be peaceful, but access is so easy to places of interest, and the sea. The views are terrific to the mountains. Mallorca is also so well served by the airlines, from here in Bristol, we can leave early in the morning and be sitting by the pool by lunchtime!

What makes this villa unique

We believe that our casita is all that you need for the complete family holiday. It is a very easy going, relaxed house. The pool and the surrounding area just lends itself to outdoor living, some guests tell us that they had lists of things to do from guide books, but found the place so ideal that they did not have reason to leave it! Your only trip may be to the supermarkets just a couple of kilometres away to get supplies for the barbecue! We love the great reviews and compliments left by our guests and are so flattered when they book with us and return again. We must be doing something right!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We came on recommendation but the casita still well exceeded our expectations! Thanks for a lovely week, we'll be back!

We had a wonderful week with our boys. We enjoyed the island but mostly our 'Home For One Week'. Our compliments to your team. Would definately recommend your cottage. We might be back soon!

What a setting - stunning! Our boys never asked to go to the beach! This was our first holiday 'Out of Port' but on this evidence it wont be our last! Thank you and hope to see you again.

Gill & Peter. Merseyside. August 2013

Ive mean meaning to email you straight away after our holiday to let you know what a fantastic time we all had in Mallorca. Lovely to meet you and thank you for sorting everything out for us. The house is lovely and we truly enjoyed staying there and are definitely looking into coming back again.

You will not be disappointed

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in January 2017 and found the Casa easily in the dark following the directions provided. We were extremely pleased with the property on first impressions and the welcome pack provided was well received - a really nice touch.

Everything provided in the casa works well, bedding and towels are nice and clean.

Unfortunately the weather changed for the worse during our two week stay (even for Mallorca) and we were very grateful for the wood burner in the living area which kept us nice and warm.

The Casa is in a lovely rural location within easy access of local amenities and attractions. Casa is highly recommended - will definitely return.

Thank you Bev & Joe.

Owner's Response: Thank you Symon & Sarah for such an informative review. We are glad you both enjoyed yourselves despite the weather in January....the island needed the rain after such a dry summer but not all at once! We would love to welcome you back in the future and for you both to experience Mallorca in the sunshine. Many thanks! Bev & Joe

Peace & Tranquility!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely villa in a great countryside location yet just 5 minutes drive from either the beach and numerous restaurants of Puerta Pollenca or the history of the old town. It is also only a short drive into the stunning mountain scenery. The casita had everything that we wanted including a beautifully maintained pool, not to mention several local cats to keep you company at mealtimes!

Joe and Bev, together with their team in Pollenca, are attentive hosts.

A lovely little home in a super area

  • 5 of 5

We have just had a wonderfully relaxing week at the casita with our two pre-teen girls. We enjoyed the garden and mountain views, from breakfast coffee to sundown aperitifs, admired from the terrace or in the pool - our two favourite things about this delightful, peaceful little home sitting amongst the fruit and almond trees.

We found the casita to be clean, simple and tasteful; well-equipped with good quality beds, linens, kitchenware and a modern, easy to use dishwasher and washing machine. We valued the air conditioning in the bedrooms on those gorgeous, but hot nights and we all slept well.

Joe and Bev were very well-organised and friendly in all communications before our trip so it was no surprise to find them welcoming and helpful during our stay. They clearly love the island and the area and they know a great deal about what to see and do.

The casita is very well located in a quiet, semi rural area, but with quick and easy access to good roads. The driver Palma is under an hour and not difficult.

We loved Pollensa, which is a little over five minutes by car from the casita. We found a variety of nice restaurants, cafes and bars, good bakeries with lovely patisserie, shops and the market selling a wonderful variety fresh local fruit and vegetables. We also liked having an evening walk along the promenade at Port de Pollensa and we enjoyed a great traditional meal of frito mallorqui, paella and flan one evening in one of the restaurants suggested in Joe and Bev's wide-ranging list.

We also liked Cala St Vincenc and its neighbouring coves (only a little over 15 minutes drive) which, although very busy at this time of year, the crowds can't detract from snorkelling in the clear water and admiring the the views along the coast. For truly stunning scenery, our favourite outings were to Fermentor and the lighthouse at the Cap - stunning views and amazing scenery along a challenging road. And on our last day, a drive up through the mountains via Lluc, to Soller.

We would love to return one day and hope to do so. In the meantime we have lots of lovely memories and photos of a super holiday.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The double bedroom (with its mountain views from the bed!) has a large wardrobe, bedside cabinets and double doors leading to the pool terrace with fabulous views. Another wardrobe is built-in in the adjoining hall. The twin room has bedside cabinets, large chest of drawers and bedside lights. Both bedrooms have air conditioning and table top fans. The casita is very suitable for children being all on one level, with a great private pool and large grounds with fruit trees to explore. There is winter heating and a log burner. Hopefully we have thought of all the things that you may need, down to a hair dryer! An iron is provided but ... you are on holiday! A welcome pack of groceries is provided for your arrival. Outside: The private pool solely for this casita is a delightful 8 x 4m, lit by LED lighting and wall lights. Roman steps lead into the mosaic tiled pool. It is surrounded by a large patio for relaxing on the sun loungers or swing hammock, watch the children in the pool, look up at the mountains or pick some oranges for lunch. There is a gas barbecue on the terrace for that alfresco lunch and dinner with a patio table set and sun parasol, should you wish to eat by the pool. Within the overhanging terrace roof and under the grape vines, there is a sofa and chair set for those evening sundowners. This area gets the last of the evening sun as it sets over the Tramontana Mountains. Once within the electric gates there is a large gravelled parking area and areas of grassland, although in high summer it tends to lose its greenness! Lots of space and areas for children to explore. Also ideal for boules! It is a very peaceful area, with country sounds, such as the tinkling of the sheep bells! Utility Room: Washing machine, rotary clothes line. Water softener. Children's pool toys. Cleaning / Towels / Linen Hand, bath and pool towels are provided. All linen is provided and cleaning and linen done weekly. A welcome pack of groceries is provided for your arrival. Other: Baby bath, cot with bedding and high-chair all available free of charge on request.
