Cottage in Wells, Somerset, England, UK - Fully Refurbished, In A Small Close, 2 Minutes Walk From The Historic Cathedral And Bishops Palace

This lovely cottage, with its relaxing rooms & all the facilities to provide a home away from home, is in the heart of Wells, England’s smallest city. Unusually for Wells it offers a parking space, so you can park your car, relax and explore all Wells has to offer.

Facilities include kitchen/diner, lounge with stairs to first floor; double and twin bedrooms, sleeping 4 (with space for travel cot); modern bathroom including bath with electric shower over and heated towel rail.

The Cathedral is probably the best known historic building in Wells, but there are lots more to discover. Vicars Close, said to be the oldest continuously inhabited street in Europe, the Bishops Palace, still home to the Bishop of Bath and Wells, a tablet commemorating William Penn who founded Pennsylvania.

A fabulous market is held in Wells twice a week offering a wealth of goods. All this within 5 minutes walk! For outdoor types, the Somerset levels offer excellent flora and fauna and bird-watching, with renowned RSPB sites. For walkers, a vast wealth of footpaths criss-cross the area, including The East and West Mendip Way, provide something for all ranges of age and ability.

We arrived in the dark and had a little difficulty in finding the cottage, but a neighbor pointed it out. We explored Wells, Cheddar Gorge and visited the attractions in Bath.

Does what it says on the tin. Small but perfect.

My husband is in recovery & we wanted somewhere we could do as much or as little as he felt up to. Perfect location & Parking an absolute bonus.Flat & very short walk to Cathedral & all amenities. Wonderful market.

Cottage so clean on arrival. Would love to come back at a later date & take advantage of Lucy's proximity to so much to explore in the area ( & easy access to bus routes to do it too) Thank you. Cath Pike

Great Location

We booked this delightful cottage for a two night stay on our way home from Cornwall and Devon, and boy are we pleased we did.

Sandra replied to all my emails straight away, and was very accommodating many thanks.

It is very comfy and well appointed, I was able to make a three course meal on one night with no problem. Nice shower, beds gave us a good nights sleep.

Across the road fab pub and an easy stroll into centre to see The Cathedral and Bishop's Palace. Saturday morning there was a great market, not just food but lots of craft goods to be had, of course we availed ourselves. Car parking space and cottage are down a little alley, right at the begining of Tor Street easily missed, a good landmark is The Fountain Inn (on other side of road to Tor Street) and their car park which is directly opposite in Tor Street

Only slight problem there either isn't or I couldn't find a hairdryer.

If in the area again we would definitley stay again

Lovely cottage in a perfect location!

We stayed for a week in Lucy's Cottage and were very impressed. The cottage was really comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. The welcome goodies and card from the owners was a lovely bonus! It's in a great location about 5 minutes walk to the city centre, past the Cathedral and Vicar's Close. The fact that it has its own parking space is the icing on the cake.

A beautifully clean and convenient cottage

We wanted to be near the centre of Wells where our adult children from Bristol could visit. This cottage was perfect for us. Well maintained, welcoming, bright and with sufficient sense of space. Both countryside and the historic centre are on your doorstep. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location & lovely property!

We stayed at Lucy's Cottage during May half-term. The directions Sandra the owner provided us were spot on, with a lovely touch of some Thatchers cider, milk and cake waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage itself has 2 bedrooms, a lovely fitted kitchen and a cosy lounge, with wi-fi also included and it was great to have our own parking space next to the property. It's a 4 minute walk from the cottage to the cathedral and then into the centre of Wells, so a superb place to be in! Highly recommended!
