Porch Cottage - July 2016

We had a great holiday in Sidford and loved Porch Cottage, the history of it is fascinating and I was very intrigued how it had been modernised into the comfortable property it now is. The location too is perfect, just yards from a well stocked shop, we ate out at the Blue Ball inn several times, the food very good.

During the exceptionally hot weather we went to Sidmouth and saw something I had never seen before, the sea was absolutely calm, it looked more like a lake, only a slight ripple where the water reached the shore, amazing.

Easter break

  • 4 of 5

We found the cottage to be excellent value for money. We were warm and cosy all week despite terrible weather outside. The cottage was ideally located for us to walk into Sidmouth most days. It was beautifully clean and we had everything we needed. The low ceilings and sloping floors added to the charm of such an old, quaint cottage. It would not have suited taller people!!The cottage is located near a fantastic fish and chip shop and local spar. We did not need to take the car out each day which made for a relaxing break.
