Apartments in Edinburgh Penultimate Central! Great for shopping,restaurants,Festival events,easy access attractions.

We have two luxury suites in this building and unprecedented central location! For sake of clarity I have labelled the pictures with there respective apartment acronyms:

Another reason for selecting these names, aside from the "literary quarter" in which the building is located, is because I am the originator of the award winning, "Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour" (20th anniversary this year - 2016). Both authors of course quite likely to turn in their respective graves at the prospect, but because the building is situated directly across the road from Walter's town house on North castle Street and indeed directly across the road from the birth place of Kenneth Graeme of "Wind in the Willow's fame, I'm sure that you get the picture. This location on the corner of fashionable George Street and North Castle Street, is unprecedented for great shopping, superb restaurants and bars, stunning views of Edinburgh Castle, luxury decor and furnishings throughout. Access to lovely private residents gardens in the centre of town only 2 minutes walk from the building on Queen Street (keys supplied). On street metered parking surrounding the building or alternatively 7 x 24 parking only 10 minutes away at "NCP" on Castle Terrace. Acustic glass fitted in all the bedrooms for quite nights in the city centre! Stunning elegant lounge, with quality marble furnishings and large dining table for six people. Large screen TV & fast wifii throughout the apartment. Fab Gourmet quipped kitchen with three ovens, including steam oven and combi microwave. Separate Bosch appliances; washing machine and dryer. Large family bathroom with under floor heating, double bath, bidet and large steam shower.

I receive many queries about the second bedroom and whilst it is small, it can comfortably be made into a sleeping room for two people. The apartment has accommodated successfully, family groups and parties upwards of five people over the years ( we can also make up an additional bed either on the large and comfortable sofa or with a pull-down bed with sprung mattress). The large communal rooms, with high Georgian ceilings and stunning castle vista's, more than make up for a "cosy" stay for our larger groups, as I hope the reviews will testify.

There is on street metered parking surrounding the building, although I always recommend not to hire a car unless day trips are planned ( and even then), as the wardens are ruthless and fines punitive. That said, you can fill the meter from 6.30pm in the evening which will credit you in the morning, affording you that crucial extra couple of hours sleep! Alternatively, there is secure 7x24 parking only 10 minutes round the corner at The "NCP" car park on Castle Terrace.

We try to be as flexible as possible with regards check-in's, subject to other guests departing. Janice our amazing housekeeper, like to have your contact details direct so that she can keep you posted of early check-in's and of course vice a versa in terms of delay. If an early check-in is not possible, we can always store your luggage for you until the official check-in time of 2pm.

We are also very flexible in terms of pre-arrival requests etc, which we fully appreciate, especially after long hall flights. If you would like a stocked fridge on arrival, please just ask and we will take care of it. Please note that there is a flat rate charge of £50.00 for this service, which can be deducted from your deposit on departure. Where the grocery request amounts to more than £100.00, we require pre-payment in advance.

Please advise us of your ETA - expected time of arrival - as soon as you have made your travel plans, so we can schedule in housekeeping for you.

About the Owner

I worked as an actor for many years and as a radio broadcaster on the BBC, presenting arts programmes. I'm also very interested in cultural tourism projects and in 1996 created The Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour, an award winning tour performed by professional actors. It runs throughout the year and Rick Steves, presenter of travel programmes USA wide, is quoted as saying in a recent review, "for an entertaining insight into the greats of Scottish literature, served up with new friends, good beer, and lots of laughs, The Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour is my vote for the best way to spend an Edinburgh Evening!" so can't be bad!! I'm interested in all things literary and so when this apartment came on the market in 2001, I was excited by the fact that it sits just across the road from Sir Walter Scot's Edinburgh townhouse and on the other side of the street from the birth place of "Wind in the Willow's" author, Kenneth Grahame. of course, that's not forgetting that the apartment has unprecedented, stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and is in an excellent, central location for shopping, restaurants and culture - especially during The International Edinburgh Festival!

Splendid beaches are located approx 45 mins drive down the East coast. Charming sea side villages and towns such as North Berwick and Dunbar are approx 45-60 mins by car or 30 mins in the train from Waverly Station.

Very central location in Edinburgh's New Town and highly fashionable George Street. Surrounded by great shops, Harvey Nicks etc and superb restaurants. Stone's through from major cultural and festival attractions such as The Assembly Rooms, the site of The Edinburgh Book Festival, Princes Street Gardens.
