About the Owner

Hi, we are Mary (Irish) and Richard (British) and we live between Ireland and the UK. We bought the property in Spain in 2006 and we have got so much enjoyment out of it since then. The apartment is in a very small urbanisation right in the middle of the beautiful white village of Benahavis. There is absolutely nothing like arriving at 9pm after a flight from these islands, throwing our luggage just inside the door and skipping down the steps into one of the many bars or restaurants. And knowing you have a week of bright skies, total relaxation and a pool ten steps from the front door ahead of you. Heaven!!

Superb Apartment in a Fantastic Location!

My husband and I stayed at the apartment for 8 nights in September, the apartment is in the most perfect location, nice and quiet and yet just a couple of minutes walk to all the lovely bars and restaurants in the village.

The apartment has everything you could possibly need it was like home from home, the balcony is spacious enough to comfortably enjoy a meal around the table and the view from here is absolutely beautiful, the balcony overlooks the swimming pool surrounded by exceptionally well maintained gardens, a view of the church and the mountains in the background – we could have sat there forever!

The village itself takes your breath away its one of the most scenic places we have ever visited and everywhere throughout the village is immaculately kept, there are so many restaurants and bars your spoilt for choice.

Mary the owner was absolutely superb right from making the initial inquiry through to making and completing the booking. Thank you for looking after us so well Mary it was a real pleasure dealing with you and look forward to returning.

First class apartment

The other reviewers have extolled the virtues of Benahavis & I am not going to contradict anything said. Wonderful village. As for the apartment, it was first class. It has everything you need. Lovely lounge with the most comfortable sofas my wife has ever found, lovely kitchen, comfortable bedrooms & lovely powerful shower. The view from the balcony is wonderful & the apt. is in close proximity to everything but peaceful at the same time. Would love to go back.

Fabulous apartment!

This apartment was perfect!

We wanted to be in Benahavis for my son's wedding.

The village was all we hoped it would be and our apartment much MORE than we'd expected!

A delightful meet and greet lady, Janet, met us and explained all we needed to know for our stay.

The apartment is beautifully styled,impeccably clean and comfortable with everything one could want for 4 people.

The local restaurants are amazing and we can't wait for a return stay at this more than perfect accommodation and village!

All you could want and more

We stayed at this apt for 2 weeks from the start of July this year. For a QUIET holiday this apt and Benahavis offers everything you need and more. THE VILLAGE is pretty as a picture with narrow streets and an abundance of small bars and restaurants. There is a fruit market once a week and some small clothes and assorted stalls set up once a week also. Nearest large supermarket is a 10min drive and car hire is recommended but not essential (we didn't). There is a lovely playground at the bottom of the village and a driving range and public outdoor pool which is always well attended. THE APARTMENT is the nicest we have stayed in to date. It's over 2 floors with the bedrooms downstairs which is ideal as they are always cool and quiet and thus ensure a really great sleep. The living area is large and the patio looks out to the pool. There is a large jacuzzi bath, shower and double sink in the bathroom and a separate small wc also. The apartment is so close to the pool it is a real advanatage - no need to pack up endless bags and worry if you have this, that or the other as everything is just within arms reach. The complex is impeccably maintained and full of beautiful flowers. The real winner with this place though is how you much you get for your money - it feels like you have taken a lived in house and not a hol apt. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you need by way of utensils, there are books to read for the adults, boardgames for the family, a set of golf clubs available for your use, woggles for the pool for the kids, sun beds etc etc. You can bring your skycard from Ireland and that works too so no Spanish tv which kept the kids happy of an evening. The owner Mary was a pleasure to deal with right throughout as was Janet who looks after the place on the ground. All in all I cannot recommend enough and we have already put our names down for 2 weeks next year.

Location

The minute we arrived in Benahavis in the summer of 2006 we absolutely loved it. It seemed to be a refuge from the madness of the coast and there was just a lovely intimate feel to it-genuinely Spanish-but at the same time open and accessible to visitors and those who wanted to make a home there.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Benahavis is 7kms approx from the coast. There are very many beaches within easy reach including the beautiful beach and promenade at Estepona.

Travel:

Malaga Airport is 45 minutes away by car. Gibraltar is slightly further in the opposite direction. Car hire is recommended although pick up from the airport can be arranged at an extra charge.

Distances:

Puerto Banus 20 mins, Marbella 25 mins, Estepona 20 mins, Malaga 1 hour, Gibraltar 1 hour, Ronda 1 hour 15 minutes.

Further Details:

Benahavis is packed with all kinds of different restaurants and bars. It would be possible to stay for about 3 weeks and eat somewhere different every night, which is quite some feat in a small place. As well as the pool in our urbanisation there is also a municipal pool in the village. Adjacent to this is a driving range. There is a lovely spa in the Gran Hotel. We can also arrange for you to have an off road adventure with a friend who lives on the urbanisation. 5 years on we are still amazed at the Spanish ability to celebrate every little festival with at least a procession and often a full feria. These are occasions for all the family and will certainly make many happy memories for your children.

The best thing about our property is its proximity to the village, literally down the steps....so there is no issue with driving after the inevitable couple of glasses of wine. The very well maintained kidney shaped pool is just outside our front door. A short drive brings you down to the coast, beaches, Puerta Banus, Marbella and a little bit further to the beautiful town of Ronda and (if you're a bit homesick) Gibraltar.
