Fantastic, peaceful and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is a beautiful haven, in a quiet position overlooking the sea in the distance. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you might need and extremely comfortable, clean and homely. It is decorated to a very high standard.

I wanted to stay there forever! The peace and quietness and natural beauty just makes your whole body and mind relax instantly.

The shops are nearby and well stocked, and there is a delightful place on the harbour that sells delicious food. The sea is so clean as you look over the harbour wall, and the light is of such a quality that canvas and oil paints need to be at hand to capture the beauty of this jewel of Cornwall. There are some lovely Art Galleries nearby.

There are plenty of great walks from the cottage, and there is a handy car park further up the lane which is very cheap indeed!

I will definitely return to this cottage as soon as I can.

On the doorstep are beautiful safe swimming beaches, lovely coastal walks, sailing and fishing opportunities. St Mawes, St Just in Roseland, Portloe and Veryan are all nearby and are great places to explore. There are also many lovely gardens in the area including Lost Gardens of Helligan, Trewithen and Trelissick. Take a trip on the local ferry network enabling you to travel along the River Fal car-free which links Falmouth, Truro, St Mawes, St Anthony Headland, Flushing and Trelissick Gardens. In addition there is the King Harry Ferry, one of only five chain ferries in England, it departs every 20 minutes and links the Roseland to Feock. As well as this there are many historical properties, art galleries and children's parks to enjoy. St Micheal's Mount with it's cobbled causeway is a great place to visit. St Agnes and the tin mines featured on Poldark are only 18miles away. The fabulous Minnack theatre carved into the rocks adjacent to the Porthcurno beach (Poldark bathing scene) is 47 miles away close to Lnd's end.

If you like sailing then there are lots of opportunities close by. Sailing lessons and boat hire are available from Roseland Paddle and Sail at Percuil. Also at the lovely harbour of St. Mawes, boats can be hired and lessons provided by the Fal Wooden Boat Hire company.
