The apartment is light and airy and has been tastefully restored to perfection. It is on the second floor of a 16th century Cetona casa. We are located on a quiet street in the "centro storico", the center of town. The apartment has all modern anemities but the exposed wood beam ceiling, open fireplace and beautiful stonework will remind you of the homes impressive age. Each room features its own special view of the town and countryside. The ground floor features a lush garden, a peaceful place to relax among flowers, cypress trees and plants while admiring the views of the town and surrounding tuscan hills. The apartment is on the second floor and has lovely views of the town and countryside. Your apartment encompasses the entire floor. Although my photos may not be professional (wide angle or enhanced) I hope they show the true character of the apartment and Cetona. If you have any questions or need any additional information please do not hesitate.
My name is Maria Ferrini and I was born and raised in Cetona. I have watched Cetona grow and improve with age and at the same time stay true to its ancient roots. The town is small and quiet but also offers convenient services. I enjoy walking in the countryside; my other interests include painting, reading, cooking, gardening and travel.
Cetona is a beautiful town in the southeast corner of Tuscany. It was granted the title of one of the most beautiful small towns in Italy ("Uno dei Borghi piu belli d'Italia). It is conveniently located to the A1 autostrada and the Chiusi train station. Cetona is the perfect starting point for exploring the sights, towns and cities of Tuscany and Italy.
LaCittadella apartment is in the the heart of town, close to everything you will need. You will find the apartment very comfortable and my goal is to help you feel like you are living like a resident here in Cetona, experiencing everyday life in a small tuscan town. My tranquil garden is at your disposal for relaxing and enjoying the views. After a busy day of sightseeing you will appreciate the tranquility of the village. Have a relaxing glass of wine on your private terrace then take a stroll to the piazza for a gourmet dinner or a casual pizza dinner.
The best town in Italy. The locals are very friendly. The house is perfect. Bryan, New Zealand
Cetona is a great place to stop, to absorb some small part of Italian life. The accomodation is great and thank you for the welcome wine! There is so much history even in such a small place. I would love to return. September 2011, New Zealand
LaCittadella is a lovely apartment and with breathtaking views. Thank you for your welcome and kindness - we will hopefully be back! August 2011, Coventry
The apartment is beautifully appointed and I loved the sound of the beautiful church bells. We tried all of the restaurants (all very good) and had day trips on public transportation to Montepulciano and Orvieto - much enjoyed. Sylvia, New Zealand
Very enjoyable stay in this wonderful, spacious apartment. We loved the small town, the friendly people and the fantastic views from our windows. The garden was beautiful and relaxing - always available for us to enjoy. NewCastle
Maria and her friend Linda were perfect hosts doing everything possible to make our stay in Cetona a success. The apartment was beautiful, impecibly clean and had wonderful
views of the Tuscan country side from every window. We suggest that those looking for a quiet retreat away from the tourist crowds but still close by car to the hil towns of Tuscany chose this location. We drove through the country side every day visiting our selected hill towns and returned to the quiet little town each night to enjoy wonderful dinners in the town's reastaurants. In our opinion what could be better.
We had a lovely time in this beautifully restored Tuscan apartment with stunning views from every window. It was immaculately clean and very well equipped. We also were given a warm welcome by Linda & Maria. They couldn't have been more helpful, even dashing to the library for us on our single rainy day to rent out some DVDs. Cetona is a lovely little town and a great base to explore Tuscany, and of all the towns we visited it was probably the least touristy. If you want to experience life in a real Tuscan town, this is the place to come. Staying here felt like stepping back in time. Cetona itself is very well serviced with shops and restaurants, including a gorgeous family run restaurant around the corner. I couldn't recommend this apartment or Cetona highly enough. We'd love to come back!
I had the privilege of once again staying in Maria's apartment. Nestled under the eves in the historic part of town with views over the surrounding countryside, this has to be my favorite place to stay when in Cetona.
The apartment is clean, well appointed, but sympathetic to its historic roots. It is a short walk from the piazza with its coffee shops and restaurants. Cetona itself is well serviced by buses and the train to Florence / Rome is 15 minutes away. All in all a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.
This apartment was immaculate, with views of the Tuscan countryside from every window. The owners live in the building and the entire property is clean and beautiful with a garden out back that is at your disposal.
The apartment resides in the old part of Cetona, and you can walk 5 minutes to town and the piazza for restaurants and coffee and small shops.
Cetona is also very well located between Florence and Rome with a train station nearby. You can also visit many Tuscan cities using Cetona as a home base.
I corresponded for months with Linda Antonelli, the contact for the owners who helped make our trip so special. She was helpful with information on-line and a big help in person in Cetona.
The owners are gracious and welcoming and the people of this town are friendly and cordial, even though we do not speak Italian.
I recommend this property highly and frankly, cannot wait to go back!
This is a very nice apartment (we stayed in the 2 bedroom) with beautiful views and easy walking distance to the plaza. It is well equipped and excellently maintained. Cetona is located in the heart of the Tuscany region where we made daily trips to other communities within an hour drive. My wife and I highly recommend this property.
Excellent séjour, appartement agréable, bien équipé et situé en plein centre.
