Neo Breton Style House In Village Location, Close To Beach/ Pink Granite Coast

Updated: 04-Dec-2016
House in Le Yaudet, Nr. Lannion, Cote D'Armor, Brittany - Very Peaceful Location In A Quiet Village With A Lovely Quiet Secluded Garden In Which To Relax

Beautiful Breton style house 10 minutes drive from Lannion with it's excellent shops, bars and restaurants and of course the famous large Thursday street market which sprawls through the whole town. Fishing, riding, good walking, cycling, land yachting and sailing are all available in the local area. The headland at Le Yaudet is not only a place of magnificent natural beauty but also an important historical site, with roman celtic remains. In the garage of the house there are 4 bikes (Gents, Ladies and two children's) on which you can explore the countryside. This is a wonderful area and this is a great base from which to explore it. Or of course just sit in the South facing garden and enjoy the peace and quiet with a glass (bottle) or two of wine. There are two patio areas one outside the patio doors which enjoys the sun for the majority of the day and at the bottom of the garden there is a smaller area where one can enjoy the late evening sunshine. Both have garden furniture. There are 4 sun beds for use in the garden. A short stroll will take you down to the headland where the Leguer river meets the sea and this has to be on of our favourite views. There are many lovely little paths that lead you around here and down to the very quiet and private little beach. We now have a lovely new creperie/bar in the village run by a lovely young couple from Normandy. Another lovely walk is along the path and towards Locquemeau which gives great views. At the end there are a is a bar and restaurant - Great for Moules Frites! But if you get in the car and explore you will be rewarded with many fine safe and quiet beaches in our little corner of Brittany. I cannot guarantee you sunshine but I can guarantee peace and quiet here in our lovely village

Bookings are Saturday to Saturday in high season but ask about other dates and we may be able to help. In other periods all periods of let are considered.

About the Owner

My name is Gerry Shaw and I have owned Milin Awel in Le Yaudet since 2004. As a family we always took our holidays in France and often in Brittany. We loved the area and always dreamed of owning a house there. When the dream came true it was wonderful and now we have extended and improved the house it is even better. The area is so quiet and relaxing that one can forget all about the worries and trials of normal life back in England. Sure you will love the wonderful coastline and beautiful unspoiled beaches as much as we do. Have a great time.

We had a great time, lovely house and garden. Caught a sea bream off the rocks at Le Yaudet. Altogether a very relaxing stay - Rebecca and Matt, Barnsley

A fantastic well equipped cottage in a great rural location so quiet and peaceful. This is a marvellous place to go sightseeing from and close to major towns for shopping. The scenery is breathtaking and the beaches unspoilt - Dave and Sue, Burnham

Our second stay here and we have loved it just as much. Had a lovely day on the beach at Beg Leguer, one of the best beaches we have ever been to - Celia and Phil, Bristol

Perfect weather for a perfect place . We love it here and can't wait to come back- Barbara and Peter, Bristol

Just one word - Fabulous! The first thing we noticed was the silence. A perfect relaxing environment to escape the stresses of home. Char and Reg, Bristol

Lovely layout, well appointed and clean property

  • 5 of 5

The house is well laid out, with all mod cons, and extremely comfortable. It is in a quiet cul de sac which is overlooked by a beautiful windmill.

We were delighted to discover that the coastal path was just a short walk from the property so we enjoyed many local walks and a swim in the sea.

We spend out time mainly exploring the many coastal path walks that were within an easy drive of Le Yaudet . The owners has left quite a comprehensive list of local attractions so, as we were feeling very lazy, we just mainly worked through it.

The house is in a very beautiful part of Brittany - a wonderful area for those of you looking for a complete break from the hurly burly of a busy life!

There is a very welcoming Creperie within easy walking distance of the

house.....spend several evenings there.........and so nice to be able to walk home after a couple of glasses of wine!

We would highly recommend this property to our friends and relatives.

Lovely house in wonderful Brittany

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here before so knew what to expect. The work that Gerry has had done to the house has,in our opinion, made a lovely house even better. It is a perfect base to explore the Finistere region with all of its wonderful beaches and villages. Even if you don't want to move far you can make use of the nice garden or laze in a hammock! Our only regret was we only had a week - longer next time!

Well-equipped home in great location.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for renting us your house, which was perfect for us - very well equipped and comfortable. We loved Le Yaudet itself and it was a great base for exploring this gorgeous corner of France. So many pretty little beaches, we managed to swim in a different one every day. We also cycled to the boulangerie at Ploulech for our morning bread thanks to the bikes in the garage - a nice touch! Would love to return.

Beautiful, relaxing holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a truly memorable holiday! :-)

Le Yeudet already was a special place to us. Everything about it we loved. The peacefulness, the beauty of the area and coastline and the house is very well equipped.

Our favourite place is definitely the headland and the cosy beach within 5/10 mins walk from the house.

We already can't wait to go back! :D

Thank you again!

A great find

  • 5 of 5

This was our first holiday abroad with our 9 month old daughter, so we were a little worried about having everything we would need. We needn't have worried at all. The house and the location lived up to our expectations and we had a thoroughly relaxing and peaceful week.

There is plenty to do and see in the area, lovely walks, quiet beaches, great drives. The house itself is in a great location, only a few minutes walk down the hill to Pont Roux, less than 10 minute drive into Lannion, and a quick drive to the excellent patisserie (great cakes), plus only 5 minutes to the Intermarche.

The property is well equipped, everything you'd need in the kitchen, lots of books and dvd's plus UK tv if you want it (we preferred to relax, read and enjoy the peace and quiet).

Overall we had a great time, and our 9 month old daughter had no problems settling in. We would definitely recommend a stay here, and we will definitely be returning again.

Owner's Response: So glad that you had such a good break in Le Yaudet with your young daughter. The area really is great for young children with such safe and quiet beaches. Glad you mentioned the peace and quiet! That is what we love so much about it and like you rarely turn on the TV. Thanks for the positive comments.

From the Owner

When we first saw this house ( a beautiful hot summers afternoon) it was just exactly what we had been looking for. Neo Breton style and with a lovely quiet enclosed garden. We couldn't quite believe that we had found what we had been looking for and have enjoyed it so much ever since. New bathroom put in May 2015 along with new windows and now a brand new kitchen in 2016 where the upper garage once stood. The house now looks better than it ever has and I am really proud of how we have improved it.

8 Minute walk down to the headland at Le Yaudet and there is a lovely quiet beach which is quite perfect for small children. A short drive takes you to the beaches of Beg Leguer and the other beautiful sandy beaches of the Pink Granite coast. There are beautiful beaches all along this coast line and it is fun to just explore for yourself.

The nearest ferry port is Roscoff (Brittany ferries Plymouth-Roscoff) which is only 30 miles away. Other routes would be St. Malo 110 miles, Cherbourg 240 miles. Brest airport is only 44 miles away as is Rennes Airport. If you are travelling with Brittany Ferries please let me know as I am sure I can get you a better deal on the ferry crossing.

10 minutes drive from Lannion where there are 3 very large supermarkets. There is also a good Intermarche on the main road into Lannion about 5 minutes drive. Also Boulangerie and chemist. Ar Vro restaurant in Le Yaudet. Pink Granite coast is about 20 minutes away with it's amazing and beautiful rock formations. Guingamp - Home to En Avant Guingamp (Professional football team and French cup winners 2014) is also 20 minutes drive away. Is also very easy to drive from here to Southern Brittany.
