A delightful first floor 2 bedroom apartment located in the stunning new Marina Village Development in Olhao adjacent to the new Real Marina 5 star hotel and spa. Enjoying wonderful views the property also benefits from a roof top pool which enjoys panoramic views of the ocean and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The apartment is located beside the Olhão Marina and is only a short walk from the town's famous fish and fruit and veg markets, its many pavement cafes, restaurants, shops and the ferry/taxi boat jetty for trips to the famous Ilhas of the Ria Formosa with their long golden sandy beaches. Great apartment,very modern.

We arrived very late due to the nice people of Easy Jet, So a bit stressed, but getting to the apartment was very easy, just follow the N125 to Olhao, when you get to the roundabout with Lida on your right, take the first turning off the roundabout, at the bottom of the road as it curves along the sea front, the apartments are on the left corner. And when you get there you ate in for a treat, we were met by a nice young lady who showed us the apartment and its features, and WOW what an apartment, very clean, very modern and very well equipped, and very large, you are on the first floor but there are 2 lifts. The main town of Olhoa is about 10 mins walk along the front with its many bars and restaurants.and from the fruit and fish market buildings. If you get homesick, there is a Macdonalds at the roundabout. If I had a gripe, it would be, the beds mattress were a bit hard for our tastes and the roof top pool although nice was quite cold, favourite restaurant was Pizza Pesta opposite the second market hall along the front, All in all, a wonderful place to stay.

Spent 10 nights here with my family, all I can say is "stunning". It is definitely a home away from home. Everything you need is there. From beginning to end the owners Terry and Lisa were there to answer any questions we had. We had a fabulous time and hope to return again soon.

Apartment: We were met at the apartment by Hannah who explained all facilities and gave info re. shops town area.Excellent facilities with top of the range fittings throughout. ( Siemens fitting in kitchen) dishwasher cooker microwave fridge/freezer. Large balcony with view to the sea has ample room to relax with 4 seats & table and room for 2 sun loungers to catch afternoon sun.

Very secure apartment with lifts to all floors.

To top it all there is a rooftop pool with sun lounger area.

One of the best well kept apartments we have stayed.

Alhao: the town is very much a fishing town with the main market selling fresh fish on a daily basis.

Numerous restaurants within walking distance at a very reasonable price(35 € for meal for 2 incl drinks) too many to choose.

Supermarkets within walking distance giving excellent value with fresh daily bread.

We did have a car but apart from getting to and from airport there was no need. Train to Faro and beyond stops in Alhao.

Recommend boat trip on Rio Formuso nearly 4 hours visiting 3 islands with 2 stops. (20€ per person).

All in al throughly recommend this apartment and area although would be limited for children.

Main bedroom with very large ensuite.

Other shower room larger than some rooms.

Added bonus of having shower gel toiletries in both bathrooms.

Kitchen had teabags cereals etc. Which meant no need to find shops immediately.

All uk channels on large screen TV with fibre wi-fi.

excellent property

This is a lovely property a stones throw from the marina.

Would definitely recommend it, has everything you need and more, the rooftop pool is bonus as is the lift.

Our top tip is visit the Ilha de Armona stunningly quiet and relaxing place with over 10km of beach, a 10 minute ferry ride from olháo.

Is the perfect base to explore the Algarve or further afield we managed to get into Spain and go to lagos all by public transport. A car isn't essential but the supermarkets are 10 minutes walk away.

Booking and communication with Terry was seamless and the whole process was really good.

All in all we had a great holiday in a great apartment, would definitely return in the future.

Stunning property

Absolutely loved the apartement,everything you need is catered for ,quiet and peaceful,was there with my wife and two teenage daughters and we were all pleased,there is a lovely restaurant bar in the complex which is excellent,if like us you are adventurous at all I would recommend hiring a car it gives you that extra freedom to really explore the Algarve,

Great apartment, clean with all mod cons (not that I would have a clue how to use the playstation/xbox thingy !).

Have stayed in several apartments at Marina Village and this was one of the best.

Would certainly consider staying here again if returning to Olhao.

Although Olhão itself doesn't have a beach it is located on the Ria Formosa, famous for its “Ilhas” which provide miles of sandy beaches and clear waters. The main “Ilhas”, Ilha Da Armona and Ilha do Culatra are reached by a regular ferry or water taxi. The nearest Ilha is Armona which is about 10 mins by water taxi or about 15mins by ferry from Olhao. The main Ilhas have restaurants/cafes. Ilha Da Farol is also worth a visit for its lighthouse, white sandy beaches, warm waters and rich fauna.


Olhão is only 8km from Faro airport and a taxi journey takes about 15 mins and costs between €17-€22. The bus and train stations in Olhão are about a 10 to 15 min walk from the apartment and from here there are regular services to all the major towns on the Algarve. Due to the excellent public transport car hire is not essential however as with any holiday a car gives you that extra bit of freedom and there are car hire firms based in Faro and at the airport.


All the local amenities in Olhão including supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, restaurants and the new Ria Shopping complex are within walking distance of the apartment.

Distances to other key towns: Faro 8km, Vilamoura 37km, Albufeira 48km and Tavira 21km.

Further Details:

Olhão is the largest fishing town in the Algarve with a superb local character, which unlike many other towns on the Algarve has been unspoilt by modern day tourism. It has many Moorish-style houses, delightful winding cobbled back streets and a beautiful waterfront with lovely promenade, gardens and cafes. The fantastic fish market on the waterfront is the central point of Olhão, having a lively atmosphere, where people come from miles around to get their fresh fish and seafood along with the locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables.

At the centre of the old town at the end of Avenida da República, in the Praça da Restauração, is the church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, built in 1698 with contributions from the fishermen when it was the first stone building in Olhão.

Olhão also has a more modern town centre with many and varied shops including the new Ria Shopping complex which includes a variety of shops, restaurants/cafes, supermarket and a cinema.

Olhão is also located on the Ria Formosa Natural Park with its labyrinth of canals, islands, marshland and sandy beaches that extend 60 km along the Algarve coast between the beaches of Garrão and Manta Rota. This diversity of eco-systems attracts a varied range of animal life including many bird species.

Overall Olhão represents a peaceful, unspoilt base to enjoy all that the local area and the Algarve have to offer.
