About the property

A Stunning Location Nestled In A Valley In The Mountains

Moulin Vaddie is surrounded by mountains, lochs, burns and forests. Fantastic walks to deep pools in burns to swim in that can all be reached from the back door of the cottage. Other activities include rock climbing, boating and there is a tennis court 2 miles away for shared use with other holiday cottages. The cottage is reached by a mystical access road through the wild forest and allows guests to seascape the city while watching wild birds, deer and hares. You can enjoy the complete silence and the never ending views, climb monroes from the doorstep or simply just relax in the walled garden. The property is surrounded by fields which make for good team sports. There is a swing in the trees opposite and a burn nearby providing endless activities for children. The cottage was recently restored to impeccable and comfortable standards with all modern conveniences and boasts 2 Jetmaster fireplaces one in the bar is an indoor barbecue.

About fiona venter

I am in love with Moulin Vaddie

fiona venter purchased this in 2003

Why fiona venter chose Pitlochry

When my daughter was 4 we wanted to share some nice mountain time with her and so we renovated this cottage from a wreck into what is adorable and so brilliant - enjoy your stays in Moulin Vaddie as they will count as your most memorable ever xx

Guestbook comments from the owner

We spent 3 nights at Moulin Vaddie with the family and absolutely loved it! The directions Fiona gave us were perfect and although we had a little trouble finding the key, we couldn't fault the communication. Despite being in America at the time, Fiona managed to arrange for her mother in law Rose to meet us with a spare key within 10 minutes. The house was clean, comfortable, well equipped with pots/pans, board games, darts etc and more than enough space for the 6 of us. Stunning setting with nothing but sheep, cows, deer, rabbits and beautiful scottish landscape in sight for miles. Accurate listing, would highly recommend staying here! :) Thanks for having us!

This place is magical!

  • 5 of 5

I would recommend this property to anyone who wanted peace and tranquility. Set back approximately 1 mile from the main road the farmhouse is surrounded on all sides by stunning mountains, rivers and wildlife. The farmhouse itself has everything you need and is warm and comfortable. There is lots to do in the near vicinity with the local caravan site having a very reasonably priced shop and restaurant and the local village is picture perfect.

My husband and I never really got over our visit and cannot wait to return. It was as if we could pause time for a week and just be! Our young son played happily in the garden surrounded by amazing scenery. We found this farmhouse to be heaven on earth. We will hopefully get married here in the future, never seen a more beautiful location.

Fabulous "away from it all" property

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking at getting away from it all then this is the perfect cottage. No other property in sight and beautiful views. Cottage was exceptionally well equipped, and fantastic open log fire and plenty of logs included. Half an hour to Pitlochry and half an hour to Bruar if you really need retail therapy. Would certainly recommend.
