Farmhouse in Montastruc, Nr. Bergerac, Dordogne, France - Peaceful Location.40 Mins South Of Bergerac, Set In The Area Of The 'bastide Towns' Regio

(Nearest airports Bergerac 35 mins, Bordeaux 1hr 30 mins and Toulouse 2.5hrs). The area is surrounded by sunflower fields, and is right in the middle of the fruit and winegrowing areas of Bergerac and the Lot et Garonne. There are many vineyards to explore and we are centrally situated between the ‘Bastide Towns’ circuit so exploring the many unspoilt towns and villages is a must do! We enjoy fantastic views of breathtaking scenery, easy access to the towns of Bergerac and Villeneuve Sur Lot, yet, we are tucked away in a most peaceful and tranquil part of the countryside. The rivers of the Dordogne at Bergerac, and the Garonne running in to Villeneuve, are within easy reach. The area is full of ancient towns, chateaus, vineyards, caves, castles and markets to explore. There also numerous festivals throughout the year and lots of children’s entertainment to keep them happy! But if all this is just too much….one of our favourites is to just lay by the pool and enjoy the sun!

Simply stunning

Myself and my family Spent 2 wonderful weeks at grand Rieu. The location was stunning, the views breathtaking and the locals were friendly and very welcoming. We spent most of our days relaxing by the pool and our evenings visiting the farmers markets which we would highly recommend. So many fantastic places to visit and so many beautiful towns to see!

Our children referred to the views from the front of the house "as being in the hundred acre wood" truly magical!! All in all it was the perfect holiday and we couldn't have asked for anymore.

Looking forward to returning soon.

Peace and Tranquility

What we like in our holiday is privacy, sublime views and a comfortable bed! Grand Rieu gave us everything we needed. We are not a family who feel the need to go far and we didn't. We relaxed by the pool in the day and sat on the veranda in the evening.

Sightseeing involved the hisorical Bastides and the lush French markets.

We loved every minute our excitement was watching all the birds of prey swooping around us and the total peace and tranquility the property gave us.

Swimming pool attended to and all utilities/electricity/water paid: pool is privately owned and if used, is at your own risk, not monitored. 20% deposit secures booking, full payment 10 weeks prior to your selected dates.

Changeover Day:
Arrivals strictly after 4pm and departures at 11am please. Additional days payable pro rata can be agreed where possible at the time of booking.
We can be flexible and will try and fit in with your travel plans where possible.

  • Notes on accommodation: Weekly rental for the Farmhouse and up to six people inclusive of linen, sheets, swimming pool attended to and all utilities/electricity/water paid. Pool is privately owned and if used, is at your own risk, not monitored. There is a seperate poolside shower for use before and after swimming. More details and information pack can be sent by post on request. Outside: There are covered terraces to the front and back to give excellent shade when required. The pool also has its own covered changing area, and its own shower. There are some sun loungers and chairs available for use by the pool. Outside there are large private gardens with some fruit trees, various conifers and vines which are there for your enjoyment, and other meadows and fields surrounding the property. There are numerous outside buildings of interest including a large Tobacco barn. Utility Room: There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer. The other WC is also located here. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Inclusive of linen and sheets, one set of towels per bed, swimming pool attended to and all utilities/electricity/water paid. Bring your own outdoor/poolside towels. Other: There are covered terraces to the front and back to give excellent shade when required. The pool also has its own covered changing area. There are some sun loungers and chairs available for use by the pool. All the main windows are fitted with shutters.
