Quaint maison du village situated in the heart of Salernes town, close to the local shops and markets. The house has a kitchen and lounge area, as well as 2 large bedrooms & a shower room. Off the main bedroom there is a private roof terrace and the other bedroom has a traditional wood burning stove. There are bicycles to explore the local area or, for the more adventurous, the Tour De France routes. Within a minute you could be in one of many local Salernoise restaurants or cafes, wandering through the market or visiting local potteries for which Salernes is famous. Exploring beyond the town there are delights and trips to suit all tastes and interests; there are the ancient grottos of Villecroze, the Roman ruins at Riez or the freshwater lake at St Croix offering a wide range of water sports and leading to the wonders of 'Europe's Grand Canyon' at the Verdon Gorge. Ramblers and climbers of all abilities come from all around to enjoy the breathtaking views.
Hi, we are both English and fell in love with Salernes, when we bought our house in 2002. We both work long and hard hours in London and we were looking for a peaceful and tranquil place in which we could relax, home from home. We purposely did not fill the house with alarms, clocks, telephones or internet connections. We wanted somewhere we could cook, eat, play a game of cards and talk, maybe over a glass of wine or two. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We visited Salernes in 2002 and fell in love with the town for its authenticity - truly it is a Provencal market town. It is not there for tourism alone, but has a real soul. Although bustling, especially on a Sunday, it is still small enough to wander around. We were keen to live in the heart of the town and close to shops, cafes and restaurants.
We both love exploring new restaurants and trying new food and wines, so being amongst good local restaurants was very important to us as well as being able to visit vineyards for tasting and buying local wines. This area is really best for reds and rose wine.
However, we also like to get out and visit other places of interest as well as going for a walk or cycle. The scenery is simply stunning.
The property offers a perfect place from which you can make the most of the local town of Salerne. Having a small, private roof terrace to enjoy a barbecue or a drink in the evening is all part of the relaxing ambiance.
