Villa in Armacao de Pera, Central Algarve, Portugal - Quiet location 1.9km walk to the beach

Casa do Monte is a comfortable two storey villa situated within private grounds and mature gardens. It is located in the quiet rural hamlet of Calicos, within easy reach of the large beach resort town of Armacao de Pera and all its amenities and within easy reach of some of the best beaches in the Algarve. It is also well located for exploring the rest of the Algarve due to its central location.

The villa itself is well equipped and furnished in a classic style. Some recent refurbishment has been carried out, both outside and in, and air-conditioning installed in the master bedroom.

On the first floor there is a double master bedroom with a bathroom en suite and doors leading to a private balcony. Downstairs accommodation consists of two twin bedrooms both with adjacent bathrooms (one with shower only) and both with doors leading out to a raised terraced area.

In addition there is a well equipped kitchen with washing machine and a large comfortable sitting/dining room with fireplace.

Outside, the large floodlit swimming pool (5x11m) with integral roman steps, is set within attractive terraces and a well established secluded garden with lawned areas and a variety of fragrant shrubs and fruit trees. The villa has satellite TV and wifi can be supplied for a small fee.

Lovely villa in excellent location

This is a very well equipped villa in a wonderful location. It is beautifully clean thanks to a daily maid service. The grounds are lovely and the pool is very welcome! The villa is about 2km out of the centre Armacao de Pera so it is very easy to walk to the beaches, bars and restaurants there. It is also very close to the A22 (tolls payable) so the rest of the Algarve is easily accessible by car. There are very well stocked supermarkets close by. The villa itself is in a quiet location. The owner is really friendly and helpful with local information. We found that all the restaurants we visited were high quality and good value. Our favourite was Bistro 24 (Armacao) which served excellent Portuguese food. Overall we highly recommend this villa and many thanks to our wonderful hosts!

We have been handling bookings on behalf of the English owner of this property since 1999. It has always been popular with families who prefer to be in a quieter area to enjoy their holidays whilst still being very close to a major beach resort and all the amenities that implies.

Within easy reach of some of the best beaches in the Algarve. Also within easy reach of water parks and the famous zoo marine offering a variety of amenities but better known for its live shows featuring dolphins and sea lions


The village of Guia with its selection of good value restaurants and Albufeira with its famous nightlife are between 5 and 10 minutes drive away. Armacao de Pera with its extensive promenade lined with a variety of bars, restaurants and small shops is a delight to walk along during the warm summer evenings.

I personally like this villa as it gives a more authentic experience of living in the Algarve. It's traditional furnishings and homely décor are its appeal and the mature garden is a delight to spend time in. I know the owner is particularly fond of birdwatching and wildlife, of which there is much to see in the surrounding area.
