In the heart of Argyll, one of the most picturesque parts of the West Highlands, surrounded by mountains and forest nestling on the side of Loch Fyne Strathlachlan is a tiny hamlet of five cottages reached by a single track road. If you are looking for a holiday location that has luxurious rustic accommodation, set amongst some of the best of spectacular Scottish scenery in a completely tranquil and restful setting, a world away from stress and bustle, but still close to amenities, Strachlachlan Lodge is the perfect comforting hideaway and one of the very few places that really will match your expectations of how a holiday in Scotland really should be.

About Mark

I am a keen traveller and lived in Europe for many years and felt that holiday rental properties particularly in Austria and Switzerland were of a far superior standard to the "general" standard available in Scotland.

We bought Strathlachlan lodge in 2008 and spent a year doing extensive renovation and refurbishment with every aspect of the property being upgraded.

Mark purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Mark chose Scotland

The original part of the Lodge (which takes in the snug and main bedroom) is over 300 years old and the original property was called "Portindrain" and was one of the very first recorded properties to be built in Starthlachlan....in the attic the original chimney is still visible.We wanted to have a property which was in a tranquil setting with great open outlooks but still close to local amenities.....I bought the property from a friend after visiting for an evening I said that I loved the place and if he ever wanted to sell .....1year later he did !

Within a short time after arrival you will start to unwind and relax and as the days pass and you sleep well in a silent dark atmosphere with clean air a real sense of well being and rest fullness will restore your mood energy levels and optimism and a stay at the Lodge really is so uplifting.
