The property is located across the valley from Tourrettes, set in rural surroundings with lovely views to the old Medieval villages of Tourrettes and Callian with the mountains as a backdrop. Ideal for a family or shared family holiday as the house interior is very spacious. Converted a few years ago, the interior is simple yet comfortable, having underfloor heating and a large open fireplace for winter lets. The property is within walking distance of the internationally renowned Domaine de Terres Blanches 18 hole golf course, 30 minutes from the sea, 25 mins from Cannes and Grasse, 15 minutes from the Lac de St. Cassien which offers many water sports, 10 mins from the internationally known gliding school of Fayence, 50 mins from Nice airport and 30 mins from a main line train station.

Notes on accommodation: Central heating in winter is to the tenants account. The house is air-conditioned and the bedrooms also have fans. There is a large amount of space for children, and although the pool is fully secured in accordance with French regulations, we do recommend that children are supervised at all times when in the pool area. Outside: The grounds are very spacious with plenty of room for games. There are enough sunbeds with mattresses for the pool. Plenty of trees for shade and the BBQ area is covered and close to the pool. The pool is not heated and is strictly for the use of tenants. Utility Room: The utility room has a clothes washing machine. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linens are included and the property is cleaned at the start and end of the tenancy.

Although we had a very nice time at the house, we had great difficulty over retrieving the deposit of 575 euros. We eventually got back £238 in December 2014. No receipt for the withheld funds was sent and emails sadly remained unanswered.

Owner's Response: The family concerned were lovely guests and we enjoyed having them as summer guests. Sadly there was a dispute over a brand new mosquito netting in the master bedroom, to a balcony door, which they had been shown how to use, and they accepted that was the case. After they left at the end of their holiday, we found that the netting was badly damaged and would require repair. They accepted they should have told us about the damage when it happened, and not left it for us to discover after the end of their holiday. A photo of the damage was taken and sent to the Hirsts. It did take a long time to return the deposit as the original manufacturing company were taken over by another company, and it took several months after the end of the August holidays in France to arrange for a representative of the new company to give a quote for repair. This was a brand new net for the new season last year. These nets, if treated correctly, will last a good many years which is why we felt it right to retain some of the deposit towards repairing and fitting a new full length balcony door mosquito net!

absolutely perfect

As our son was getting married in Fayence, we needed a house that would be suitable for family members with ages ranging from toddlers to pensioners. Le Mazet looked great on the website but you never really know until you arrive. Veronica (the English lady who handled the booking and all arrangements) had been delightful to deal with so we were pretty confident that there would be no nasty surprises but in fact the house exceeded all expectations. Once you have found it (the area is a bit of a maze to say the least with small tracks hidden in trees way back from the main roads) the house offers seclusion, comfort without being too immaculate ( so that you're scared to breathe!) and loads of loos and showers so everyone could be comfortable living together. The outside spaces are really lovely with a large pool and terrace ideal for outside dining. We actually threw a party for wedding guests prior to the actual day and everyone who came remarked on how lovely the house was. There's great back up from the maintenance man Fabien who speaks English and is really efficient so if anything goes wrong you know he's there to help. So, all in all, a relaxing, comfortable and most enjoyable experience. We would definitely go back which is the best endorsement of all.

Normally it would take about 35 minutes to the beaches at Agay, Les Issambres, or Boulouris at St. Raphael, but this does depend on the time of year and time of day. Before going to the beaches at St. Tropez it is worth getting some local advice on the traffic situation at the time.


Nice airport is approximately 50mns. A car is definitely needed even though there are many lovely walks nearby. There is some public transport but enquiries should be made before setting off to ascertain frequency.


The property is approximately 2.5kms from the village of Tourrettes which has a small local shop for all basic requirements. Fayence is about 3kms with many local shops, restaurants, cafes, cinema and doctors and of course a very good market on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Grasse and Cannes are about 25kms.

Booking Notes:
To make a booking please either call or email to confirm the price and availability of your dates. You will then be emailed a booking form requesting a 25% holding deposit of the total cost of the booking which is non-refundable but will guarantee the dates for you (you can take out insurance for this). Then, not less than 8 weeks before the date of your arrival the remaining 75% must be paid. We also request a 300 euros damages deposit which is to be paid preferably in cash.

Changeover Day:
Changeover days can be flexible though for the most part people come and go on Saturdays. No arrivals before 5.00pm and departures no later than 10.00am please.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
