My Lodge is attractively situated in a quiet location of Killigarth Manor with stunning views. We are private and stand out with our seasonal plants and spring/summer tubs.

About the Owner

My name is Joanne and I recently bought the Lodge from my lovely friend,Linda, who kept the Lodge at a very high standard..I love my new venture and am enjoying keeping things as they were with a few of my own ideas. I grew up in Lancashire and have lived in Cornwall for 30 years having recently stopped running my own very successful bed and breakfast on The Heligan Gardens estate near Mevagissey.I have 2 sons aged 27 and 16 and we are all very close. I now live in St Austell over looking the sea which is a bonus! I have worked hard all of my life including the caring profession and hotel/travel industry. I have been told that I am a peoples person, non judgemental and a listener..

Lovely lodge, perfect for a family holiday.

  • 5 of 5

We received a lovely warm welcome from Joanne with a cream tea kindly provided. The lodge was immaculate and equipped with everything we needed. We had three generations including our two little granddaughters and it was suitable for us all. We made good use of all the facilities, swimming pool, gym, crazy golf and tennis. The girls loved the playground and the Foxy club. It was lovely to be located so close to Looe and the superb weather meant we made good use of the beach. A place we would highly recommend and could see ourselves returning to.

A great Place

  • 5 of 5

Had a great week at Joannes Lodge.....Its very clean and comfortable with eveything you will need. On arrival we met Joanne the owner who is a lovely and welcoming person.... It is less than half a mile down a quiet country lane to access the Cornish Coastal Path so its great for walkers. It takes about 15mins to walk to Polperro all down hill along a very quiet lane but you might want to get a taxi back unless you are feeling energetic.

This Lodge has something for everyone we like walking, pubs ,live music The Blue Peter Inn in Polperro is excellent .We enjoyed visiting Porhruan and Fowey which you cross to by foot ferry. We had a great boat trip to Mevergissy too.

On site there is a swimming pool (lovely and warm) a shop, a club which does food ..if you like a bit of bingo or dancing there is something for all tastes.

Highly recommend it thank you Joanne!

Owner's Response: Thankyou for reviewing your holiday at my lodge.Im glad everything was suitable for you. I love the pool..such a good temperature. There is so much to do in the area with something for all ages. Polperro has enough places to eat and drink especially on a sunny evening with live music if that's what you want. Both the ferry trips mentioned are a great way to see 2 places without driving and lots of lovely walks to enjoy.

Beautiful lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had a very warm welcome from Joanne the owner. She left us a cream tea and fresh flowers.

The lodge was lovely and clean .Good quality bedding and mattress.

There are also towels left for all the guests.

TVs in every room. There was also wifi in the lodge. Which was excellent.

Joanne has gone the extra mile to look after her guest.

Can't wait to go back.

Lovely Lodge!

  • 5 of 5

We have just enjoyed a lovely week in this fantastic Lodge. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Linda, who as well as providing all the little touches that make this such a lovely Lodge, provided a very welcome cream tea complete with tea bags and milk,a lovely touch! The Lodge is everything it's advertised as and more, very clean, well equipped and in a perfect location for exploring South East Cornwall. On our arrival there was a slight issue with the internet connection but Linda was very apologetic and explained the issue which was sorted by the next day. We loved Polperro and Looe and fish and chips from "The Coddy shack" is a must.If you are feeling brave the zip wire at adrenaline quarry is great fun! I would highly recommend this Lodge and am sure we'll return.Thank you Linda.

Location

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 60 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Polperro at 1.5 Kilometres Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

The beach at Talland Bay is a sandy/pebble cove great for kids with lots of rock pools and nice safe bathing. It has its own car park with beach cafe and public toilets. It is about 5 minutes in the car or you can walk the coastal path, but it is quite steep going down and up as Killgarth is situated on top of the cliffs. Looe beach is a sandy beach but you have to park in Looe car park and walk to the beach. It is about 3 miles from Killigarth. Polperro also has a beach, but not good access.

Travel:

A car is necessary as public transport is not as frequent in the countryside. There is a railway station in Looe.

Distances:

Looe is about 3 miles away a pretty fishing village also Polperro fishing village is a mile down the hill from Killigarth Manor. Very quaint. You are about 3/4 of an hour from the Eden Project well worth a visit, lots of things for the kids to as well as the adults. Mevagissy is also not far from Eden so nice to incorporate the both whilst in the area. Plymouth also good for shopping and has a lot of historical parts to visit like the Hoe and the Barbican with it marina, restaurants and shops.

Further Details:

The lodge is close to Looe which has many shops and good restaurants to while away the time.
