Herrieff's Cottage is located in a conservation area of a quiet village, overlooking the village green, about 3 miles west of Banbury. The cottage is Grade II listed and has been converted from an old coach house. The village is located on the Oxfordshire cycleway and connects areas of outstanding natural beauty. The cottage is built from local Horton stone and retains many exposed walls within, along with exposed original beams. Outside there is a patio with garden table and chairs and off road parking. Wi-fi is available in the cottage.

About the Owner
My husband, children and I moved to this area from London 14 years ago. Herrieff's Cottage is an old coach house which was part of Herrieff's Farm. The farm is no longer a working farm but we live at the farmhouse which is located on the other side of the gate. We pride ourselves on offering personal service to all our guests and are always nearby to offer help or assistance, if needed! Superb cottage in a great location
This is a lovely cottage in the quaint and charming village of North Newington. The cottage has all the modern amenities, including dishwasher and wifi, yet retains its country feel with exposed beams and rustic decor. Also the location is ideal for walkers as there are numerous paths crisscrossing the fields and meadows surrounding the village. All in all, a truly memorable stay, one which we intend to repeat soon!
A wonderful cosy away-from-it-all retreat. Lovely quiet village, great " real" pub just across the green with friendly hosts. Cottage has everything you need for a cosy peaceful escape. Extremely spacious for 2 people, very comfy bed and well equipped kitchen. Mary is lovely and you will receive a very warm welcome and a lovely fruit cake!!!
A lovely break
What a lovely cottage. We had a wonderful 3 day break. The cottage is just beautiful, very comfortable and ample room for two. Mary and Justin made us very welcome, and were always happy to answer any questions we had.

Lovely little cottage
Well appointed property, just as described, in charming village. Friendly welcome from the owners who were really helpful. Very dog friendly with lots of nice walks. Good meal at the George & Dragon in neighbouring Shutford. Really enjoyable long weekend and we would certainly go back again.
Paws for thought!
A beautifully presented cottage with a welcoming feel to it gave us the respite we needed and enabled us to visit some unknown country houses and heritage sites. We chose this cottage because of its location but also because we have a difficult dog who nonetheless settled in well. Owner was friendly and helpful particularly when my husband fell ill. We felt we were among friends and hope to return. However you do need a car as there are no shops or amenities in the immediate area.

“We moved here from London primarily because our eldest child was due to start school and the time to move would never be easy after that. This is a great location with ease of access to the M40 which gets us to London in an hour and connects us with friends and family all over the country. We enjoy the peace and quiet of village life. We are surrounded by public footpaths and can walk for miles with the children and the dogs!”
Activity and Interests
Birmingham is the closest airport - about 35 miles or 40 mins. by car. Use of a car is recommended. The train station at Banbury provides links to London, Oxford, Birmingham and is about 10 mins. away by car.
Banbury is 3 miles away or 10 mins. by car. Oxford is 25 miles and Stratford upon Avon 15 miles. There are numerous National Trust properties nearby including Upton House and Stowe Landscape Gardens. Silverstone Circuit is 35 mins., Blenheim Palace 30 mins., Warwick Castle 30 mins. and Cadbury's World 50 mins.
There is a traditional pub in the village which provides real ales bar snacks and evening meals. The nearest local shop is about 10 mins. by car and Banbury offers a selection of supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrison's. Most of the surrounding villages offer pubs which provide good food and Banbury has a good selection of restaurants including Indian, Chinese, Italian, Thai and traditional English fayre. There are numerous golf courses nearby as well as horseriding facilities, swimming (indoor and open air), gliding at Shenington, fishing, walking, cycling, go-karting and a brand new Spiceball leisure centre in Banbury.

Our preferred changeover day is Friday however we are flexible, depending on the time of year and length of stay. Our check in time is 4pm and departure is 10am. Once again, we are flexible depending on availability.
Notes on prices:
Prices quoted are per week, based on two people sharing. We accept pets and there is a charge of £3 per pet per day for this. There is a charge of £30 per week for heating from November to March or £5 per night. Bank holiday bookings are charged at high season prices.

- Outside: Outside there is a patio area with garden table and chairs. A barbeque can be provided on request. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. The property is cleaned once a week and towels and linen are changed weekly.
