Apartment in Dubrovnik Old Town, Croatia - Amazing View, Quiet Location Close To All Attractions Of Dubrovnik Old Town

This 3 bedroom apartment is on the top floor of an old stone house located on Ploce hillside providing outstanding views overlooking the old town, the sea and Lokrum. It is located just outside the old city walls for easy access to all major attractions. It provides a quiet retreat from the congestion and noise of the old town. The apartment provides comfortable accommodation for 6 people. There are 2 large bedrooms with king size beds and a smaller attic room with 2 single beds. There is a well equipped open plan kitchen that opens onto the lounge and terrace. In summer the terrace is the heart of all living, relaxing and entertainment. The apartment comes with internet access, cable TV and DVD player. The apartment is located 100 metres from the main road and access is gained via walking up 50 steps. It would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. Access to the Old Town is via approx 100 steps.

About the Owner

I first went to Croatia in the early 80's. I fell in love with the coast line, the Islands and the beautiful villages. I have spent many holidays traveling the coast and the Islands. After the war I returned to Croatia and found that I still loved it. So I decided to buy a place there and undertook an extensive search. However, I always ended up back in Dubrovnik, so finally settled on this as a location. My criteria for a place was all about location, ease of access to and from London, views and a terrace to enjoy the summer months. I think I found the perfect place which ticked all the boxes. I bought the place 4 years ago and spent 2 years on renovations. The aim was to create a real holiday home to enjoy and relax. From my point of view I think I achieved this.

Excellent facilities, great bathroom and 2 large double bedrooms one with ensuite.

The twin room is on open loft room more suitable for children, but useable by adults. Kitchen is well equipped as is the lounge. There are 200 steps down to the old town main street which takes about 10 minutes (with my bad knees using a walking pole).

By far the best thing about this apartment is the view from the terrace which is outstanding.

A great find in Dubrovnik

The views from this beautiful apartment were stunning and make you want to get up in the morning. The apartment is very comfortable, and well appointed. It surpassed our expectations. Cvjetko and Dube are most welcoming and made everything easy for us from the booking, payment, arrival and departure. They are happy to provide sound local knowledge to enhance your stay. I would certainly hope to return in the future.

The perfect gem in Dubrovnik

It really is a gem to enjoy Dubrovnik in such a beautiful setting.

I already have some friends who want the details! Well you do come highly recommended...

One of those places that is so good, one hesitates to share it, but...Difficult to fault, excellent appt, fabulous terrace, good kitchen (if you like self catering as we do), excellent location (not for those with walking problems, too many steps, for the rest of us, good exercise and makes us less guilty about eating/drinking too much). And of course Dubrovnik, which did not disappoint. But, the real jewels are Dube and Cvjetko; to be honest, i prefer to be left alone of holiday, and was slightly cautious when i read this prior to holiday - in retrospect, idiotic. Dube collected us at airport (I recommend you do this), and then took us to local big supermarket, and even better, her local butcher, which was brilliant start (the supermarkets in Old Town are rather small, and no butchers etc, and you would not immediately find these places, so really good start. Only problem we had was DVD which packed up, which Cvjetko resolved immediately. They improved our holiday considerably, and that from a family which generally prefers to find its own way. Peter's (owner) views on the restaurants in Old Town are alas generally well founded in our view, all a bit pricey and disappointing, with one or tow exceptions. Best place we enjoyed was the rather uninspiring looking place near Ploce gate (called something naff like "Food and Wine"), and we ignored until last night - best by miles! Also Taj Mahal, the unlikely name for the Bosnian restaurant in Old Town. Lokrum a must, and Sveti Jakov beach was our favourite, although taxi ride (or spirited walk). Don't bother with a car, parking in Dub is horrendous, and car unnecessary, good taxis/buses.

Simply one of our best holidays ever, a mixture of excellent weather, excellent appt, fabulous location, and Cvjetko & Dube. I rarely give 5 stars (actually I rarely even review), but this place deserves it - accom in Dub is surprisingly expensive we thought, but this place is worth it. Just don't tell too many people.

Croatian perfection

We had a lovely late October stay in this wonderful flat. Never have I stayed somewhere as comfortable or well appointed - a very lucky find. The position is second to none - stunning views, close to the old town but far enough away to offer peace and quiet. The beds were very comfortable, the flat spacious and light with all mod cons. The balcony has a large dining area and BBQ, with sun beds to sit and admire the view. Also the couple that manage the flat - Dube and Cvjetco - are delightful and so helpful. We enjoyed meeting them very much. We look forward to returning!

excellent apartment

This apartment is exactly as described - great location, fantastic views & fully equipped for any type of stay

We opted for transfers provided by the owners , which ran like clockwork - Cyjetko & Dube were very helpful with all aspects of our holiday . Would have loved to have been able to stay longer

From the apartment you have easy access to the sea and several swimming locations, all with in 5 to 10 minute walk.


The apartment is located approx 20 minutes from the airport with a taxi. Transfers can be arranged. No car is required whilst you stay at the apartment. Parking in the street is very difficult at most times and expensive.


Old Town - 500 meters. Town Beach - 500 meters. Cable car - 100 meters.

Further Details:

There are several small supermarkets and bakeries close by to the apartment. There is a market held in the square in the old town every morning, but tends to be pricey. If required you can organise with apartment manager to take you shopping to one of the larger supermarkets in the new town. A more detailed information document can will be sent on request.

The air-con is reversible and there is an oil heater available for colder times of the year. Outside: There is a large private terrace, that has been designed for all summer living. It has comfortable furniture for dining, relaxing and lounging. There is a BBQ for use. The terrace is half covered providing shade from the sun. As apartment is located on the hill generally it gets a cooling breeze from the sea. Utility Room: There is a utility room in the basement which contains washing facilities. Access to this room if required can be organised with the Apartment Manager. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Clean linen, towels and beach towels will be provided on arrival. For stays longer than 7 days, addition clean linen and towels will be provided free of charge. Additional linen can be arranged with manager at a cost. Other: A large terrace acts as the hub of the apartment, providing you with all the comforts to relax, dine and enjoy the stunning views. It is hard to find better in Dubrovnik.
