Traditional Village House

House in Eymet, Aquitaine / Dordogne, France - 2 Minutes Walk From Medieval Square With Cafes, Bars And Restaurants

Our house is a beautifully restored four bedroom village house in the stunning Dordogne region of France. It would be most suited to a family or couples wishing to explore the area. The house lies in the heart of the village of Eymet with the charming medieval square just a minutes’ walk away, for shops, bars and restaurants as well as a bank, post office and tourist information office. The house is ideally placed for exploring the chateaux, bastide towns, vineyards and the beautiful countryside of South West France or just enjoying the fetes, festivals and night markets held throughout the summer in the village.

About the Owner

We have had the house since 2008 and have spent the time travelling to and from the region to help with renovations. In that time we have grown to love the village of Eymet. The house remains our 'home in France' and we hope that you will come and respectfully enjoy the house while you fall in love with the region as we have.

Great place to stay, owners really helpful!

  • 5 of 5

The property exceeded our expectations. Very spacious and well equipped. The location is very convenient for local shops, restaurants, places to visit etc. Easy to get to from the airport as well. The owners went out of their way to answer any queries we had both before, during and after our stay. Would stay here again.

Beautiful House

  • 5 of 5

The house was even better than expected. Its got that wow factor when you walk in the front door. Its beautifully maintained to a very high standard. The welcome pack with a bottle of wine was just the right touch to set us off for our great french holiday. The house was very clean with big rooms, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen. Plenty of seating for everyone with TV and video system. Books and games are also around making it feel more like your own home. For those who want to eat out there are bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Its difficult not to spend hours just sitting in the square. I liked starting the day there with coffee and croissants and then returning to a bar at the end of the day for a drink before walking home to bed. During the summer there is a night market but we enjoyed the weekly day market which arrives on Thursdays with lots of items for present buying and gorgeous food. The roasted chickens are very good and with a fresh salad also bought in the market a meal good enough for anyone. Eymet is a good location for exploring the surrounding area. I liked all the medieval villages, castles, gardens and caves that are cheap to visit and easy to drive to. Maybe canoeing on my next visit. I think you get more for your money with this property. The booking system is good and I will be recommending it to friends and relations. The fact that I will be booking the house again soon for a return visit must say how much I enjoyed my stay there.

Beautifullt appointed House

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely house in a great location about 100 yards from the town centre of Eymet. The house has been furnished with great care and sympathy. We had a great week there and the English owners went out of there way to make us feel comfortable and ensure that we had everything we needed. (No we are not related to them in any way).

From the Owner

We bought the house in Eymet because we love to be part of village life. We love the fact that the markets, bars and restaurants are right on our door step. We also enjoy buying fresh food in the market or just wandering around the medieval streets in the sunshine. Eymet also has its own night markets and festivals which are great fun. We can be in the house just 20 minutes after leaving the airport and Eymet is a great base for exploring the area.

  • The house has electric heaters in all rooms and a log burning stove in the sitting room for cool winter evenings. Logs are available locally. The house is equipped to a high standard with quality furnishings and fittings, the kitchen has a dishwasher, range cooker and everything you will need to cook for family and friends if you decide to eat in. There is a utility room with a washing machine. Both the shower room and en-suite bathroom have body spray showers and there is also a downstairs cloakroom. A hairdryer and heat mat for hair straighteners is provided in each bedroom. Unfortunately we cannot accept children under the age of five and because of the stairs and layout of the house it is not suitable for the disabled We do not accept pets. The house is strictly no smoking. Wifi is now available Outside: Outside space is at a premium in Eymet but we are lucky to have a shady tiled roof terrace accessible up a flight of steps just outside the kitchen door. It is perfect for alfresco dining and evening socialising. On the terrace you will find a set of hardwood furniture. The roof terrace can also be accessed through the fourth bedroom. The house benefits from on street parking and because we have no houses opposite us we can usually park right outside. Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels are included for the length of your stay. The house is cleaned on change over days. A towel bale (bath, hand, face) is included for each person. Bath robes are included for adults. We do not provide beach or swimming towels.
