You will be in Aiguille Grive 3 and less than 50 metres from the Charmettoger chairlift! Easy access to and from the slopes and back is SO easy. In the block we have: a newly refurbished 'Fait tout' mini grocery store/pizzeria/bakery and bar, two ski rental options, a laundrette.

If you drive, there is an underground car park just opposite our apt block - ideally buy a ticket in advance - or you can take your car to 1600 where parking is free, get a bus back; You are unlikely to need your car during the week as Les Arcs is car free

The main areas of Arc 1800 is nearby with a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, specialist shops, physio centre and ski/snowboard equipment shops. In the summer it is just a 5 min walk to a golf club. Les Arcs is all about convenience and practicality. Lifts are easy to reach and you can ski or snowboard right to our back door. Whatever the weather or your taste, you can always reach good snow by means of an amazing network of lifts. Or you can take the Vanoise Express to La Plagne. You can eat out, find delicious takeaways (such as tartiflette, sometimes on sale outside the Sherpa supermarket), or cook your own with great ingredients from the shops. Aiguille Grive is a group of apartment blocks built in the distinctive Alpine modernist style of Les Arcs, well planned, neat, thus the narrow Japanese style stairs. The architect was Charlotte Periand a pupil of Corbusier.

We bought this apartment in Nov 2010. We have four children all grown up and they all ski as do we!


Ski in ski out big time!! Its great because it is so convenient for the chair lift. I really have to pinch myself every time. We ski every year for at least 2 weeks and often are there in the summer for the music festival.

We have free WIFI for you in the apt!

Why Patsy Nightingale chose Les Arcs area

We often took the children skiing to Les Arcs and I always wanted to buy an apt there though we did look elsewhere years ago. Finally we were able to do it!

The advantage of the resort is it is purpose built so everything is easy. Its as lovely in summer as it is in winter. Transport to Les Arcs is especially good if you are a train user. Good shops, bars, eateries and so on. Bourg St Maurice is quite small but fun to visit

Our closeness to the lift that takes you up to above the midway bubble stop is just so close to our 'back' door! It is what everyone comments on who has been there to ski.

From the top of the chair lift there is an immense skiing area in Les Arcs that pleases all levels of snow lover. A very special restaurant in Arcs 2000, at Pre d'Esprit, which is only open for lunch so skiing back home is usually quite fun!

What makes this apartment unique

Les Arcs has a very good record for snow - it nearly always has a good fall in December - so much so that they have started a film festival in the very first week of the season! And you can invariably still ski at the end of April.

We find the apt so neat: it is easy to cook, clean and get out to ski - nothing seems like too much trouble. The locals are all friendly and our key holder is a gem.

There are lots of resteraunts, ice-skating, bowling, bars and music if you want it. Also a new swimming pool/Spa.

You can buy in any services you want which is why are prices are fairly low.

Booking Notes:
Please contact owner via email. I will send you payments details. Once you have paid a deposit I then send you in stages: full information sheet, returnable info form and lift pass voucher for 2% discount and finally an inventory. I'm happy to have long email correspondences or phone calls with queries etc! Previous clients usually leave appropriate left overs so there is nearly always: salt, pepper, sugar, tea, fruit teas, oil, vinegar, pasta, herbs and the like. You can employ someone to clean the apt or do that yourself. Its not a big job as the whole apt is very neat.

Changeover Day:
Please contact owner but in winter tends to be Saturday. Those arriving early on Sat clashing with those leaving late on Saturday have, so far, succeeded in sorting it out between themselves. I can set a 'changeover' time if needed.

Notes on prices:
Prices are less £25 x 4 people, less £50 x 2. To secure a booking you need to pay 50% of the weekly rental. Balance is due 8 wks prior to departure plus a refundable deposit for any breakages etc. The renters is responsibility is to check the inventory, leave the apt clean/tidy, remove all rubbish. Price includes cleaning equipment, dry kitchen goods. Cleaning, linen and/or towels can be rented via the key holder, plus many other services can be bought as required.

To secure a booking 50% of the total is required. The balance is due 8 weeks before departure. The security deposit is refunded within 10 days. (In the future I hope that the key holder will be able to take a credit card deposit.)

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is versatile and has suited groups of friends, families and couples. It’s in a quiet part of Les Arcs, ideal for small children, but close enough to shops and to the night life - the best of both worlds. Small enough to keep tidy and clean, lots of cooking equip for those that cook. Incredibly close to the lift so easy to leave and return to. Vast skiing area including La Plagne should you want to go there. Easy hand overs, sometimes between tenants who often now meet due to the overnight train from London and the late train back on Saturday. Our key holder is nearby and available 24/7 in person if needed and he offers many additional services. Its a well planned resort so go and enjoy! Outside: Balcony with a couple of chairs in the cupboard on the balcony for your use - and a sledge. Nice contained area you can look down on where kids often sledge after skiing and have a great time. I'm hoping we will get a ping pong table down there for the summer before too long. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen [for duvets]. Take your own or these can be rented from La Concierge des Montagne. You can buy in other services such as cleaning, a cooking service, shopping service and so on from the La Concierge des Montanges, the key holders. Other: There is a balcony which has a storage cupboard where there is a sledge which you are welcome to use. Lovely views of the mountain and Mont Blanc. Birthday candles and two chairs for your use in the cupboard. Its extra space for equipment if needed too
