Newly Renovated Cottage In The Conservation Area Of Yarmouth

Overview

Property

Updated: 01-Dec-2016
Holiday Home in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, England - Harbour Town, Beautiful 'Tucked Away' Location

Located in a beautiful muse of similar properties, this old Victorian fishermans cottage has undergone extensive renovations to make it a modern, light and comfortable holiday cottage. It is located in the heart of the conservation area of the harbour town of Yarmouth, making it a 2 minute walk to a swimming beach and a 2 minute walk to the beautiful Yar river with its many walking trails and renown for being a birdwatchers paradise. The cottage itself sleep 4 in 2 bedrooms and is equipped with everything required to make it a home away from home. It has a tasteful neutral interior, solid oak flooring and a modern kitchen. The oak bifold doors open the entire kitchen/dining area onto the patio and decking, making it a great cottage for summer evenings. It is ideal for children and we can provide safety equipment, cot, highchair, toys and books.

Please note: Parking is on street but we provide residents permits so you can park in the residents only parking bays located throughout Yarmouth. There is also a carpark under 2 minutes walk away.

Sea Drift cottage is beautiful, homely and had everything we needed with a toddler. I only wish it was our home every day. We loved Yarmouth and West Wight, a nice change from the East where we normally stay and we had a wonderful break, thank you so much.

Would recommend to anyone. Brilliant location and a good vibe

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here and would return in a heartbeat. The cottage is so convenient for Yarmouth and the ferry, but on a very pretty and quiet street. Inside it is well kitted out with some nice design touches - we loved the blue Smeg fridge! Heather is super helpful if you need anything.

Sea Drift Cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was well presented, simple with nice clean lines in keeping with the style and location. When we arrived the cottage was really clean and the kitchen was very well equipped for a holiday cottage. We didn't think we would need the washing machine, but it came in handy. There are cafe doors to the back of the property and a partly covered patio - so you can sit outside in any weather.

It was also nice to have a welcome pint of milk and loaf of bread.

The owners added a really nice touch by providing welcome information about restaurants and places to go, but with the added information about their own experiences.

The location was perfect - walking distance from the pier, bars and restaurants. It was a bit tricky to find - a map might have helped this rather than a description. Had to look on Google maps

There were lots of beaches and attractions within a short drive. We would definitely recommend Sea Drift Cottage.

The only negative was the parking - when you unload the car you have to park at the end of the street (not far) and then you have to find another parking space and use the parking permit.

Beautiful cottage tucked away in a lovely town.

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. The rooms worked really well for a family of 4 and the additional downstairs toilet was great. The weather was stunning so we had the bi-fold doors open as soon as we were up. The patio is a lovely sun trap in the morning. It's position in Yarmouth is great, just around the corner from the small shops, pier and restaurants but so quiet that you would never know! It was carnival week in Yarmouth and there were some fun activities for the children. It is also a great destination for getting to a range of beaches in West Wight, The Needles and we loved Tapnell Farm Park. Our only slight issue was parking which can be a bit of a hunt and getting the permits right can be tricky. However, a great family home for a week.

Great location, relaxing environment

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely week at Sea Drift, it's a beautiful cottage with all the things you need. It's very peaceful despite being right in the town and the outside area is great for sitting out for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The location is great as you can simply walk into Yarmouth for shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. It's also easy to get around the island if you don't want to use the car as the buses run from right next to the ferry port. We had fabulous fish and chips from the Blue Crab Cafe and PO41 is serves fab coffee and cakes. For food with a view, we'd recommend the Waterfront at Totland. The Isle of Wight has so many things to do and see along with some beautiful beaches. We'll definitely be back again and would certainly consider staying in Sea Drift again.

Amazing stay

  • 5 of 5

We have just got home after a really lovely week at Sea Drift Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, we were very impressed indeed. The design on the ground floor is ideal when the sun comes out as the doors open fully so you can really appreciated the secluded courtyard. There is a covered part though so we did also sit out in the evenings even when it was raining. The location of the cottage is great as just round the corner from all the amenities in Yarmouth but in a lovely quiet spot. It was the first time we had been to Yarmouth and we are already talking about when we can go back.

The cottage is also extremely well equipped and everything is of a very high quality. We would highly recommend this cottage.
