Air-Conditioned Villa With Pool And Spectacular Mountains Views

Updated: 21-Oct-2016
2 bedrooms, 2 full shower rooms, 2 terraces, peaceful location, large garden

This modern villa is set on 2. 500 m2 private land above Herceg Novi and Igalo. Up in the hills not only do you benefit from the peace and tranquility of being away from the very busy sea front, but you are ideally situated to enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. And, if you enjoy taking a gentle stroll, the road will delight and invigorate you. Killara is surrounded by tall conifers, fruit trees, plants, and flowers. On the grounds is also a small vineyard and pristine above ground pool. The mountains view is magnificent, yet the property is a short drive to the beaches. The villa is equipped inside with ceramic floor tiles, window shutters, and air-conditioning units.

Fantastic Relaxing Family Holiday”

Our visit was a family holiday which included an 18-year-old and a 5-year-old and it suited them both equally! The Villa was outstanding, and we were greeted by the friendly owners who passed on valuable information on the surrounding areas and beyond, suggesting wonderful restaurants and beaches etc., Our youngest learnt to swim in the pool and many a day was spent just relaxing at the Villa. The Villa itself was very clean with everything you would need for your stay and more, including an abundance of grapes, tomatoes, peppers & figs, all available to pick from a beautifully kept garden. A car is essential as there is so much to see, with such breathtaking scenery! We just can't wait to be able to go again...!

- "It has been a pleasure staying at "Villa Killara". Its beautiful location, the surroundings, the garden - have all contributed to it.This place has been absolutely perfect for our 2-year old son Alexander and his parents have obviously

Villa Killara was a dream home for our stay.

  • 5 of 5

Definitely need a car, a gorgeous 5km drive upwards into the mountains with fruit-stall at bottom of hill where we stocked up on figs, delicious peaches and fountain-watered melons every time we drove by.

The house is reached through a lovely pathway lined with Italian cypresses. The grounds are gorgeous and surrounded by tall mountain peaks, bright blue skies and the oasis of turquoise blue 5m pool is inviting us to cool down every time we arrive from one of our daily journeys. There is a star-gazing rooftop terrace and on the terrace below there is a lovely big dining table where we ate our meals. The house itself if very modernly set up with all comforts thought of, even enough basics to start us off like coffee, condiments etc. All technicalities like Wifi and air-conditioning etc in full working order. Plenty of space and room. Were able to follow some of the Olympics with the telly. Comfortable beds, super clean, I can't think of a single thing to complain about in the house.

The owner as well as the manager provided great customer service and I would definitely recommend this place to family or friends.

I thought I would not like lack of sandy beaches but instead we developed a love of the Montenegro and Croatian coast with its super clean soft stoned beaches. We discovered a magical secret beach near Popovici half an hour drive away worth the search... Pasjacha. For crossing the border we had to queue a bit so we discovered and preferred the border via the smaller road that follows the coastal road from Igalo via Njivice to Popovic. We were also so close to Dubrovnik from our villa. We had lots of choices of beach clubs with all kinds of watersports: waterskiing, jet skis, scuba diving (Adriatic Blue in People's Beach Bar in Herceg Novi - only 15 minutes from the villa), great service, friendly people everywhere etc.

We also did a 3 hour quad bike safari just over the Croatian border, at Kojan Koral (they do horse riding too). And a must in Montenegro, which after all, is a country of mountains, is the rafting excursion down the rapids through the Tara Canyon, second biggest after Colorado! We drove through the amazing nature of lake-filled valleys to the Waterfall Centre and stayed the night in a cabin in the woods with great food prepared around a campfire followed by a day of most magnificent rafting journey including swims in the river and waterfalls etc.

What can I say: one of best holidays ever. Thanks Jan!

Lovely villa, stunning country

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic holiday on our first visit to Montenegro. As there was just two of us we only used one section of the villa - it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Although the owners were out of the country when we visited, they ensured that we were well looked after by friends and neighbours and were quick to respond to any enquiry via email. We were fortunate with the weather and managed a few meals out on the terrace and a bit of star gazing from the upper terrace.

Montenegro is a beautiful country - would recommend a couple of nights in Durmitor National Park. We also had a night in Budva and visited Mount Lovcen, which was the highlight of our trip - the panoramic views from the top are amazing. The owner of the restaurant at the top of the Mount told us we would be able to see '80% of Montenegro' and he wasn't exaggerating! We will definitely be going back.

Beautiful peaceful location

  • 4 of 5

A comfortable well equipped villa set up above the coast which makes it cooler in the hottest weather. Garden is large and enclosed giving good privacy. Lovely shaded terrace for meals and just relaxing out of the sun. Roof terrace hot and good for sunbathing and watching the sun set in the evening. Everything very clean with plenty of space inside. The villa is on the edge of the village and it was really quiet and peaceful especially at night. You do need a vehicle otherwise you are a bit out of the way of things. Driving is fine just concentrate and be careful, look out for the sheep and cows on the road up from the main road! There is so much to see and do in Montenegro and this villa is an ideal base for touring round.

This was our first visit to Montenegro and we had a wonderful holiday, no problems, the owners speak excellent English and gave us excellent advice on where to visit etc. We shall definitely be back!

The owners Jan and Nick were very friendly and welcoming and also very knowledgeable.. We would recommend this villa to family and friends and we are looking forward to going back and staying at Killara again as a week is not long enough to explore this beautiful country

Lovely stay at Killara

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing holiday in Montenegro, staying at Killara, helped by our lovely hosts. We travelled with 3 young children, and although one of the bedrooms was only accessible from outside the building, we felt safe in this scenic/fairly rural area. We love to see the sights and explore new places, and our hosts were very good at recommending new places of interest, including sorting us out with a 2 night excursion up into the Durmitor National Park which was AMAZING!

Our temporary sweet home in Montenegro

  • 5 of 5

Spacious, nice, properly organized house. Two different residential zones with separate entrances, kitchens and bathrooms are very suitable for families with adult children. All necessary household appliances are available, nothing useless. Cozy rooms equipped with good taste (from my viewpoint). Two large terraces. On the first terrace we usually had breakfast and on the second (on the roof) I looked at the stars at night.

Hospital and very responsible hosts. No delays with letters, no feedback problem, good communications, very lovely people.

Large gardening area with grapes and fig trees. Grass-plots with daisies and meadow flowers. Very safe for young children.

Tranquil place. Nice mountain view, pastoral idyll with cow bell ringing at the background...
