About the property

Barn Conversion in Grassington, Wharfedale, Yorkshire Dales - In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales

Lane House is a splendid detached stone barn conversion in a peaceful setting just 1 mile from the village of Threshfield. This is a traditional style property with a multi-fuel stove, beamed ceilings and sneck doors providing every modern facility required to ensure that your holiday is comfortable and relaxing. A spacious property with marvellous views from every room across the scenic countryside distinctive to Wharfedale, it’s a lovely home to return to after spending your day discovering all the attractions of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. If you want a more leisurely time, you can enjoy lazy afternoons on the patio or stroll along the country paths down to the river, perhaps taking a walk into Threshfield for a pub lunch or an evening meal. Grassington is within easy reach where they hold the ever popular Dickensian weekends leading up to Christmas. You’ll also find a great array of shops, pubs and tearooms.

About Steven Thompson

My family and I lovingly restored this former barn into a beautiful cottage and home. I have recently moved nearer to work and family and now offer this beautiful cottage as a holiday home.

Why Steven Thompson chose Yorkshire Dales

I lived in the cottage for 12 years and loved its position and location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. As a result the property is extremely well equipped and has everything you would expect from a modern home.

What makes this cottage unique

The property as you will see from the photographs is very private with no immediate neighbours and is on a private road. It is also central to a number of great footpaths and bridleways. This means access for running, walking or mountain biking is perfect right from your front door. There are 2 footpaths running from the cottage straight up to the Moor behind the cottage.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Mr & Mrs Merriner from Cornwall

Fantastic week! Loved the cottage and all the personal touches. Beautiful views from every window and walks from the doorstep, great stuff. Didn't want to leave but we'll be back in the Dales.

Mr D Starkiss from Nailsworth

The house exceeded our expectations. We had a great week helped by a week of sunshine. We particularly appreciated the homely way the house was furnished and the welcome cake, wine and flowers. It was an extremely comfortable and tasteful holiday home. Thank you. Fantastic week! Loved the cottage and all the personal touches.

Paul, Wendy & Alex from Wiltshire

Has to be the most relaxing holiday accommodation we have stayed in. The beautiful scenery, friendly locals and 'home from home' touches put this cottage high on our list of 'return' holidays.

Mr & Mrs Davies from Kent

SUPERB...sums up the accommodation here at Lane House Cottage, enhanced by some thoughtful touches that made it 'home from home'.
