2 Bedroom, air conditioned apartment with rooftop solarium and large shared pool

This is a fantastic property, furnished comfortably with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. You can spend lazy days on the large roof top solarium topping up the tan, preparing your food on the barbecue to enjoy at the great seating area. If you want to eat out, you only have a ten minute walk to the lovely Villamartin plaza with its supermarket, numerous restaurants and excellent bars, not to mention the parrots!.

About George Jamieson

My wife and I (Jackie) are very proud of what we own having worked hard for many years it is a real achievement to own such a lovely apartment in such a nice place. We have been married for 32 years and have two sons, Daniel and Martyn.

Jackie works as a Teaching Assistant at an Infant School in Hampshire. I work for BP Shipping in support of the Oil Tanker Fleet.

When we have time off we make the most of it and love spending holidays either at Spain or our other property in Florida. Our main residence is at Hayling Island Hampshire where we have lived for 12 years. We love the islands community atmosphere and feel that we belong there.

Why George Jamieson chose Orihuela

We researched Spain and wanted somewhere away from the fish and chips, kiss me quick hat brigade and stumbled upon Villamartin. We then went to a property exhibition in the UK and found out more details. After spending a weekend looking at the area and being shown around by property agents we decided that Sol Golf was the place for us. The build quality swung the decision, for there were cheaper properties available, but they just did not tick all the right boxes. The thing we like about Sol Golf is that it really does feel like a home from home with a very nice community feeling.

What makes this apartment unique

Sol Golf is situated very close to the plaza of Villamartin. A 10 minute walk and you are amongst the finest restaurants in the area, yet you are far enough away to enjoy the peace and quite. We are very lucky to have a trustworthy key holder close by as one of our neighbours who looks after everything for us when we are away, including our guests! Our solarium is very private and the pool is not far away when it is time to cool off. We simply love everything about the apartment, but unlike our other property in Florida the real beauty is we can be enjoying a final cocktail on the solarium then 3 hours later we are sat at home in the UK watching TV, it is just so convenient.

Notes on accommodation: Please note this is a non smoking apartment and that we do not allow children under the age of 11 to stay. No pets allowed. Outside: There is a very large private solarium with this property that has a very nice seating area seating 6, BBQ, Shower and sunbeds/chairs. There is also a large parasol for when the sun gets too hot. We have also purchased a table and 4 chairs for the front balcony which is a nice place to sit and mellow with a glass of wine. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels are provided for apartment use only as well as all bedlinen.

Dirty and in need of updating

very disappointed with the apartment, on arrival we found glass on the balcony had to wash up cups to be able to have a cup of tea. Kitchen was filthy oven was unusable as it would have taken me hours to clean it ! Fridge freezer was dirty and had to be cleaned before being able to use. no fan in main bedroom as the cord had been broken off and no response regarding it being mended so 7 very hot sleepless nights. Bathroom was dated and needed to have a towel stand that did not fall over when only one towel on it, no toilet roll holder.

The 1st day of our holiday was spent cleaning this apartment.

On the good side location was great, 10 min walk to Villamartin Plaza (Uphill) and the pool was nice and clean.

Owner's Response: Extremely disappointed to read this review, as I have never had such comments in the past, in fact quite the opposite. My guests are very important to me and I do all I can to ensure they have value for money and that they are happy with everything. As I always point out, if there is any issue, no matter how trivial to please bring this to my key holder/cleaners attention as she only lives around the corner and can quickly deal with anything. This guest did mention to me that there was a broken glass and I asked my lady to go around and clean up, I also offered to quickly replace the glass. No other comment was made during the stay and I would certainly have reacted if anything had been brought to my attention. I will now certainly look into these matters and have already scheduled a call with my cleaner/key holder to discuss why the apartment was left in this state. I feel bad that this particular guest felt the need to highlight these points and will do everything I can to investigate and correct any shortcomings.

Lovely apartment and great location.

Had a lovely 10 night stay. The apartment had everything we needed. The location was great. Bars, restaurants and shops all in walking distance. Beach and shopping mall just a short drive away. George the owner was great at responding to messages, if we had any queries he replied quickly. Great apartment, great location and great holiday.

Lovely apartment

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and well equipped and we really enjoyed our time on the large solarium which had plenty of good sun beds. We enjoyed the local restaurants and also those in Torrevieja and La Mata. Our favourite beach was Playa Flamenca. We did feel a car was necessary as we are not the best walkers. We didn't use the BBQ or the communal pool but both would be excellent for families. If we decided to stay in this area again we would certainly like to stay here.

Just home from a weeks stay in this apartment which was really lovely and spacious and has everything you need. The roof terrace is lovely! Great area and quiet. The pool area is quiet but pool was big and lots of space around it and we found that there would only us at it most of the time.

We flew into San Javier airport in Murcia which is only 20 mins away.

We did hire a car although if you dont mind walking Villamartin Plaza is about 10 mins walk which has a supermarket and plenty of bars and restaurants. The is a brilliant shopping centre called Zenia Bouvelard which was less than 10 mins drive away and same for La Zenia beach.

Special interest holidays:

New to the area is La Zenia Boulevard a very up market shopping centre just 10 minutes from our front door, please visit http://www.ourspanishgetaway.com/page10.htm to see what a wonderful place this is. Highly recomended for those that love to shop!


The region has wonderful white sandy beaches all along the coast, all very different and suitabe for all types of families. The closest beach is La Zenia which is a 10 minute drive down to the coast.


Murcia, (San Javier) is the closest airport being only 20 mins away, but Alicante is also very easy to get to although slightly further at 40 mins. We recommend picking up a hire car at the airport and would be happy to recommend a good company.


Torrevieja is 10-15 minute drive away. A lovely town with lots of shops and things to see and do. A great promenade for lovely walks, or visit one of the marinas or you can grab a bargain at the very large street market. Murcia city is half an hour away, but well worth a visit.
