Guestbook comments from the owner

The villa was absolutely wonderful and unlike our previous villa rentals, it was full of character and warmth with a brilliant blend of contemporary decor (Re. antiquities/collectables/paintings from around the world) and new technology (Re. large flat screen TVs, sound system and lighting (disco). The basement room was an absolute godsend in providing a respite from the Mijas sun and evening fun, where it was furnished with a good quality pool table with a choice of cues, disco lights/crystal ball in tandem with a sound system, bar area and a large selection of fancy dress items (although regrettably no one was brave/tipsy enough to try on the Elvis suit). We loved it, and all felt that it must be brilliant for parties and celebrations e.g Christmas. With built in appliances the Kitchen was very modern and being a bit of a 'weekend chef', I was pleasantly surprised in not wanting for anything. On alternate nights, we used the pool side gas bbq. Equipped with five individual heat sections under a hot plate and racking plus a separate gas hob, I was in 'gastro utopia' in managing to cook fish, steaks, lamb chops, potatoes and stock all at the same time. All the bedrooms were large, clean and spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Our son had the enviable bedroom on the first floor, which accessed by a spiral staircase, we fondly called the 'Rapunzel' room. It even had access to the private roof top terrace, which boasted table furniture, lay beds and a table tennis table, which (like the pool table) was equipped with a good selection of bats and balls. The views of the coast from both the bedroom and the terrace were lovely. The two lounges were again spacious and more than adequately equipped with sofa seating and table furniture. Large flat screen TVs with the full satellite packages offered respite from the Costa Del Sol sun and those who had retired from the basement. Set in a grassed garden, the 8m x 4m pool was gently sloped from a stepped waist height to approximately 2m in depth. Although the pool temperature did rise in the afternoon, initial entry was a bracing experience. At the shallow end of the pool was a dining table situated under a pergola draped in colourful bedouin-like curtains, which complimented the atmosphere and from where we would often dispatch our lunches and bbq dinners. The owner Tom was very a nice gentleman who was always at hand to assist and answer any questions that we had. For our supplies, we drove into La Cal

Brilliant villa!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 stayed at the villa for 8 nights and had a wonderful time. The villa is really big with lots of communal areas.

The kitchen is very well stocked- every utensil, pan and pot you could think of. We cooked most evenings and never struggled. There is a dishwasher too which comes in very handy.

The main lounge has Internet tv with hundreds of channels including movies and sports. The downstairs games area is really fun with karaoke machine and pool table.

All the bedrooms are air conditioned and get cool quickly. The turret bedroom is particularly warm as the Windows don't open (there is a door to private balcony with table tennis event, loungers and chairs tho!) but with the ac it was a lovely temp to sleep/relax in. This room has a spiral staircase off the main lounge so not suitable for everyone but a lovely Moroccan themed room.

All the other bedrooms are on the ground level and with two bathrooms and extra toilet in the basement there were never any queues for showers. The bathrooms are beautifully decorated with good showers.

The pool area is lovely- 8 comfy loungers with easy to use big umbrellas for shade. There are plenty of seating areas but our favourite as was the gazebo type Moroccan area with coloured sashes. We spent most days and evenings there!!

The pool is a lovely temp and good size. There are lots of inflatables (that people have left), badminton, balls etc for all the family to play with!

The villa is in an complex style area surrounded by lots of other villas- but it was so quiet we barely heard anyone else! There is the lighthouse bar 2 mins walk and although we never ate there we did have drinks one afternoon. There is a supermarket 10 mins walk (15 min back uphill) which was relatively well stocked when we went- managed to get the essentials- gin, ice and inflatables! We did use the larger supermarkets mostly that you need a car or taxi to get too. We got a taxi and it was really easy- the drivers were very helpful, as were the supermarket ringing one for us. The cost was about 10€ From the Mercado supermarket to villa.

Taxis into the town were about the same price and you can use the villa phone to ring for free. We went to a few restaurants that I would recommend- el Olivio and el cortjillo- both delicious!!

Overall would recommend this villa as in beautiful location overlooking the sea and other villas. Tom is very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

What it says on the tin!

  • 5 of 5

We were family of 6 (4 teenagers and had the most relaxing holiday!

Greeted on arrival by Tom who lives close by and without ever being intrusive, was always on hand to offer any help or advice we could ever need.

The villa was everything we had hoped for; private pool with an abundance of sun loungers, the 2 large lounges, 4 bedrooms, karaoke equipment, table tennis and pool tables - very spacious and comfortable making for a very comfortable holiday.

Not detracting from the villa, if you like to eat out I would suggest a car is needed. We didn't rate the restaurants within walking distance but travel a few miles and there's some wonderful ones around (we recommend La Sala in Puerto Banus.

I would happily recommend Tom's villa to anyone pondering whether to book; it's certainly one of the best we've been to (and we have been to a number now).

Amazing Villa

  • 5 of 5

We have just completed a 10 day stay at the villa. This is our third year running.

It has everything you could need. Its like a home from home. Very clean, tidy and maintained to a high standard. There are plenty of bath and swimming towels provided. Beautiful swimming pool. Very comfortable throughout. The owner is hospitable and friendly. Always available should you require anything. I would definitely recommend this villa.
