La Crestellina is an immaculate well appointed town house offering spacious and comfortable accommodation. It has great views from the terrace of the village of Gaucin, the Crestallina mountain and the sea beyond. The house has all modern conveniences including aircon and Wi-Fi with a beautiful shared swimming pool. There is a spacious entrance hall and integrated single garage (very useful in the summer months when parking is at a premium and your car can be kept cool). There are two light and airy bedrooms on the next floor, one twin and one double, both en-suite. The upper floor opens onto a stunning kitchen and living area with terrace and views. There is also a beautiful private dining terrace leading to a further self contained annex with double en-suite bedroom and small living area.

“We had a great holiday in this very well-equipped spacious house and we will certainly return to Gaucin. While in a lovely quiet location, with use of an excellent pool, it is only a short stroll from the many village bars and restaurants. Absolutely loved this townhouse. The location on the edge of the village is perfect - quiet enough for total peace and relaxation but close enough to be able to walk into the village to sample the many tapas bars. The house is extremely tastefully decorated, all very cool modern lines in creams and whites, and very spacious indeed. There is somewhere for everyone to escape to if they need some "me" time. Loved the little patio at the back of the property with the huge sunshade, perfect for lunchtimes. Gaucin is a lovely little Spanish town/village, and eating out was so very reasonable, much more so than the tourist tourist traps.

Beautiful, clean and spacious house

Really enjoyed our stay here. House is spacious and very well equipped. Great views from the balcony and pleasant outside eating area. Pool is shared, but it was never busy, even in the middle of August. Excellent public pool nearby as well. The owners also provided some really useful information about the surrounding area with lots of good recommendations. Gaucin was a pretty white, mountain village with what felt like, in August at least, a high proportion of expats and tourists (mainly British). We could only get local TV channels, so families might want to come prepared with downloads. Change of linen also did not happen after the first week, but I am sure it would have been had we prompted the house manger. Overall we had a really good holiday and would recommend the house to others wanting to base themselves in this area of Spain.

Stunning- great apartment,beautiful location&views

What a lovely Appartment; well appointed and very. spacious. The highlight is the view - seen from the bedrooms and the large open plan lounge/kitchen: truly stunning. We were a party of 6 which included a 5 year old. The attached studio bedsit was perfect for the little one and her Mum, having its own bathroom and lounge area. Two further double bedrooms and a bed settee provides plenty of sleeping options.Nice swimming pool and a very private elfresco outside dining area. We would defffinately recommend this apartment. The area itself is beautiful and the village is perfect if you want to sample the local lifestyle having a good choice of bars and eating options. Too many to get through in a week so we suggest you book for at least two weeks.

The perfect retreat

I just wanted to say what a fabulous week we had in La Crestelina and Gaucín. It's not easy trying to find the perfect place with 3 young children but the house, it's amenities and the location made that possible. From the spectacular views to the fabulous spacious house we had thoroughly memorable stay. The kids had plenty of toys, games and DVD's to play with when they weren't out in the sun. We loved the pool and made good use of the Paella pan! I would highly recommend the village and this immaculately clean house in particular.

Beautiful family home with stunning views

Everything upon arrival at the house was exactly as described plus more. Visiting as a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teenage sons and 7 year old daughter) we had more than enough space to relax and unwind... there was easily enough space to have accommodated a further 2 or 3 people. The house itself was beautifully presented, immaculately clean and had a very well equipped kitchen. The sunny balcony off the living area became my favourite spot, with comfortable loungers, stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the sound of the local flora and fauna (Donkeys, sheep, goats etc) it was beyond idealic. Due to the very narrow roads and limited parking the garage proved invaluable. I really can not praise this house enough. In the village itself there was an excellent range of bars, restaurants, supermarkets etc. All where very friendly and for those with limited Spanish spoke fluent English. We embarked on a couple of the local walks (details of which we found in a very useful information folder provided by the hosts), All of the walks although hard going rewarded you with excellent views. The village of Gaucin proved to be an excellent central base for visiting other areas. Ronda is an absolute must with it's huge bridge expanding the gauge connecting the old and new towns. For keen horse riders there are lots of rides available locally, I joined 3 hour ride through the local mountains and can highly recommend the stables I rode with www.rideandalucia.com

All in all we enjoyed an excellent relaxing holiday, I feel certain that one day soon we will return and without hesitation I would book this beautiful house again as our base.

Simply wonderful!

We loved our week in the townhouse. It was exactly as we expected according to the description except that it was even better! The pool was considerably bigger than we expected and the quality of furnishings was first class. The villa is furnished with everything you could conceivably need -- there's even a cocktail shaker and cocktail glasses! We would happily recommend this property to friends and family, although perhaps not to those who find too many steps a little challenging, and we ourselves would love to return one day.

Home from Home (but with better weather!)

We've stayed in many holiday houses over the years, but none anywhere near the standard of La Crestellina. Beautiful house, beautifully furnished & decorated, and a magnificent view thrown in. Unlike so many holiday lets it's a real treat to find that everything you could possibly need has been provided (and that all the cutlery/crockery/pans etc match!). It was a real home-from-home for us, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. (The garage was a particular plus, given the shortage of parking in Gaucin. It was also much bigger than we expected and swallowed our estate car with ease.)

Location

Gaucin is a very special place and is far removed from the typical Costa resorts. We have been coming here as a family for the past fifteen years and enjoy the combination of typical Spanish daily life and holiday relaxation. The village is friendly and welcoming with enough variety of bars and resaturants to satisfy most tastes. The majority of our guests at La Crestallina feel the same way as we do and return year after year.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Barpub : at 100 Metres Nearest Restaurant : La Fructuosa at 50 Metres Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

The closest beaches are 30 minutes drive away at Estepona or Sabinillas and offer sandy child friendly bathing. Further down the coast are windsurfing and kite surfing centres at Tarifa.

Travel:

Flights from the UK to Malaga and Gibraltar are the most convenient but car hire is fairly essential.

Distances:

Ronda 40 minutes by car.

Estepona 30 minutes by car.

Marbella 45 minutes by car.

Further Details:

There are two banks in the village with cash points along with a pharmacy, one large supermarket and several smaller supermarkets and shops, a doctor and dentist etc. The village has a vibrant local community and celebrates many of the local and national fiestas and ferrias such as the famous Toro del Cuerdo at Easter.

Our house is a wonderful combination of modern convenience and home comforts. It is set in a quiet location at the edge of the village and within 5 minutes walk of the local shops, bars and restaurants. A major benefit of the location is off street and garage parking which is rare in the village. The house is light and airy in the summer (aided by aircon) and warm in the winter (full electric heating and a log burner). La Crestallina is our 'home from home' in Spain and as such we visit several times a year and ensure it is well maintained and equipped.
