About the property

Cottage in Kermarc Nr Trebrivan, France - Tranquil Rural Setting

A Brittany cottage which has been stunningly restored to the very highest standards. It has recently had Hi Speed Wi Fi installed. The cottage is best suited for couples as it has one bedroom with a large en suite bathroom. It is set in a very quaint rural location with a small private garden where the only noise you are likely to hear are the cows in the fields nearby. situated on the edge of a traditional village, Trebrivan, and ten minutes by car from the market town of Carhaix with many shops, bars and restaurants. We are happy to share our Brittany Ferry membership with you to save considerable amounts on all their Ferry services.

About Charles

We are a professional couple based near Windsor & Glos and have spent 4 years restoring it to the current condition. We have been amazed how well it has rented... 23 weeks last year and are pleasantly surprised by the positive comments and feedback to date. We think you will like it.

Charles purchased this house in 2004

Why Charles chose Cotes d'Armor

We love the cottage and have spent many happy days there. It is regrettable we are unable to spend more time there but we hope to rectify this in the longer term.

Its a stunning peaceful setting aside from the odd cow in the fields around ....which means you can switch off totally ...if you want.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Warm, cosy cottage, all well equipped. Lovely countryside and the coastlines are spectacular. Enjoyed our stay for the second year. David and Julie, Dept 87, France

Great location, most relaxing. Out every day at a different place on the coast each time… The cottage is an excellent base and welcoming at the end of each day. Dina and Angus, Buckinghamshire

We have really enjoyed our two weeks here and are going home thoroughly refreshed and relaxed. Spent a fair bit of time chilling around the cottage but did visit Concarneau, Mont-St-Michel, Rennes and Dinan. The cottage is a great base, the roaring log stove in the evening is a must – toasted marshmallows just make it perfect. Dan and Emma, Kent

We had such a lovely time here at your cottage. It’s been very cosy and we appreciated all the small touches that made it homely. The location is so calm and serene. Except for the cows being herded in for milking, we have hardly seen a soul. Claire and Daniel, Bristol

The stay was lovely. The house is located in a quiet area, but with car and some patience most of Brittany's sites are easily accessible. The house is spacious, clean and one can feel quite at home. All electrical devises are modern which made watching movie and cooking a joy. The area upstairs with bathroom and bed is beautiful as well. We were very happy with the service and the house-guide-book was very helpful as well. All in all a wonderful way to spend your time in Brittany!

Greetings, Andreas and Tamia

Peaceful romantic cottage for couples

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cottage in a quiet, peaceful location and everything was as it was stated in the property details. We much enjoyed walking the towpath of the nearby Nantes-Brest canal which has some very pleasant picnic spots along its route.

Charmante maison dans un cadre bucolique

  • 4 of 5

The north, west and south coasts are within an easy one hour’s drive.

The nearest ferry port is Roscoff – about one hour away by car. Brittany Ferries runs a regular service throughout the year from Plymouth.

The port of St Malo is two hours away and Caen is two and a half hours by car. Brittany Ferries runs regular services from the UK to these ports.

The charming medieval town of Quimper has a magnificent cathedral, and many shops, bars and restaurants adorning its cobbled streets. Southeast of the town lies the famous Pays de Bigouden, with its wild coastal region scattered with traditional fishing communities.

Further Details:

The cottage is situated on the edge of a traditional village, Trebrivan, and ten minutes by car from the market town of Carhaix with many shops, bars and restaurants.

Nearby is the Nantes/Brest canal, a historic waterway meandering through the Breton countryside and perfect for walking and cycling. The Black hills criss-crossed with footpaths are close by and just beyond, the moorland area of Monts d'Arée. The north, west and south coasts are within an easy one hour’s drive.

The bustling town of Chateaulin is a lovely town to visit with its bars and restaurants and the river running through the middle of the town. It is also the main area for salmon fishing.
