Apartment in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, Canary Islands - A Perfectly Located Apartment Within A Well Maintained Private Complex

This fully equipped first floor one bedroom apartment has been refurbished to a high specification throughout. Playa Bastian is approximately a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. The apartment enjoys a sea view and maintains full privacy. The complex includes access to four pools, two of which are heated in the cooler months, and a pool bar and two restaurants. Close by, there is a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants; a taxi rank and excellent bus services to the capital, Arrecife, and beyond. The nearest beach is a 2 minute walk away. A 10 minute stroll along the promenade, which is directly in front of the complex, takes you to other sandy beaches including a pretty lagoon where you can enjoy safe bathing and water sports. The golf course and water park is only 5 minutes by taxi. Excellent walking opportunities; including 3 purpose built trails around the town and several longer distance tracks along the coast and in the surrounding countryside (maps/guides provided).

About the Owner

We have been regularly holidaying in Costa Teguise for some 20 years. Finally, after 10 years of staying in other peoples’ apartments, we “took the plunge” and purchased our own apartment about 10 years ago, at Playa Bastian, in Costa Teguise. We are now retired and have fallen in love with the place and particularly enjoy the ambience and relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the locals. Our passion is walking in the natural and unspoilt countryside where we can often walk for a whole day without seeing another person! A swim in the pool finishes the day perfectly, before indulging in either a night out or a night in - as the mood takes us.

Perfect for us!

My first experience of using an apartment abroad and this was a perfect introduction. Communication with Eric & Deb was really prompt, easy and straight forward.

The apartment was exactly as described, really clean and well maintained, had absolutely everything that we needed.

Playa Bastian was lovely, the residents were all very friendly and as it was during school holidays there were children there who made great play mates for my son.

It's a quiet location within easy walking distance of the beautiful bay of Playa Jablillo with stunning rock pools and teaming with colourful fish. There was plenty of choices for eating out and a supermarket nearby to self cater. There were plenty of excursions to book if you want to be busy - we did Timanfaya, Teguise market and Cesar Manrique foundation and enjoyed them all.

Wifi connectivity wasn't fantastic so if that's vital to you then this might not be the best choice, it was available at the Reception area but quite nice to switch of the gadgets and just enjoy.

I would have no hesitation in booking again and am already considering next year, thank you!

This is one of the best if not the best apartments that I we have stayed in home from home. every thing that you need fully Kitchen sat tv with bbc 1 bbc 2 itv c4 and more safe and bedroom. the playa Bastian complex is very clean.Stayed for 25 nights. over xmas .and will be returning xmas 2016.pat &allan Bedwas. Caerphilly.

Location

Costa Teguise is no more than a 30 minutes drive from the Arrecife airport. It is a thriving and vibrant community but without the 'Glitzy Brashness' of some larger resorts to the south of the capital, Arrecife. We spend around 3 months of the year at our apartment and it provides us with a `home from home` bolt hole to which we can escape on a regular basis. We chose Playa Bastian as it is an attractively designed and very well managed/maintained Complex, boasting all the facilities you could wish for without being too commercialised.

Coast/Beach:

Playa Bastian beach is only 2 to 3 minutes walk from the apartment. From here you can walk along the promenade to to other beaches including 'Playa Del Jablillo'(The Lagoon), which is great for safe bathing and snorkeling, and the famous windsurfing beach of `La Cucharas` is about 15 minutes further along. The well maintained, picturesque and lit at night promenade extends the full length of Costa Teguise and includes popular public outdoor gym facilities along with many bars and restaurants.

Travel:

Playa Bastian is approximately 15 minutes by taxi from Arrecife airport (taxi approx. 25 E). There are several car hire outlets in the vicinity of the Playa Bastian complex as well as at the airport. Also, there is a regular bus service to Arrecife and beyond (the bus stop is just outside the complex). It is possible to travel to/from the airport by the local buses, requiring only one change, for as little as 2.60 E per person. A bus trip to Arrecife is only 1.30 E per person one-way.

Distances:

The complex is approximately a 10 minute stroll from the centre of Costa Tequise. However, there are restaurants, bars, supermarkets and banks in the immediate vicinity. Arrecife, the capital of the Island, and other places including Puerto Del Carmen, Puerto Calero and Caleta de Famara can all be visited by using the local buses (bus shelter immediately outside the complex). Island sightseeing tours can be booked from outlets within the resort.

Further Details:

There is an 'information folder' kept within the apartment. This includes various guide books/maps/leaflets and an English/Spanish dictionary for ease of reference. Costa Teguise offers great opportunities for recreational walking, ranging from gentle promenade walks to more challenging hikes into the countryside; including around some of the local volcanoes.

Changeover Day:

Changeover day is flexible. Guests are asked to leave by 10.00 hrs on day of departure to allow for cleaning for the next visitors. Guests may arrive any time after 14.00 hrs.

We do not charge a 'Damage Deposit' but we do ask you to leave the apartment as you find it. Please notify us of any damage or problems eg. electrical appliances not functioning properly.

A £75 deposit is required at the time of booking for stays of up to 2 weeks with the balance to be paid 8 weeks before departure. Stays for 2-4 weeks would require a deposit of £150. Stays of more than 4 weeks would require a £200 deposit. Cancellation fees - the deposit is non-refundable. Up to 2 weeks before departure 50% of the balance is refundable. Less than 2 weeks then no refunds apply.

The apartment is on the first floor with no apartments above. It benefits by being well away from traffic noise, yet handy for Taxi ranks and bus stops and is minutes away from the beach and coastal promenade and has a balcony with a view of the sea without being overlooked. Furthermore, there are 3 swimming pools all close at hand and a quiet pool bar within a stones throw away.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is managed, locally, and assistance is available should you require it during your stay. We ask guests to leave the apartment as they would wish to find it. Please note - no smoking is permitted within the apartment. Outside: The apartment has a balcony with a seaview. It is not overlooked and can be lit at night. It has a table, 4 chairs and an electric barbecue. There is also a clothes drying rack attached to the wall. Set within landscaped, well-maintained and mature gardens, there are 4 pools available on the complex including a childrens' pool and 2 of the pools are heated during the cooler months. There are also plenty of free sunbeds, a pool bar and 2 restaurants on-site. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are changed weekly. An additional mid-week towel change and tidy can be arranged at extra charge. Beach towels are provided.
