A stunningly spacious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 3rd floor apartment. Sleeps up to 6 persons. The property has 2 balconies, one overlooking the communal pool area (includes a separate childrens' pool) and the other with views of the town. Situated just outside the town centre, within 5 minutes of the local cafes, restaurants, shops and miles of golden sandy beach. Armacao de Pera is centrally located in the Algarve and is an ideal location to explore the local countryside and coastline. A golfer's paradise -you will be spoilt for choice, with well over a dozen courses available within a 30 minute drive, 3 within 10 minutes. There are many attractions including Zoomarine and Slide & Splash Water Park. The giant Algarve Shopping Centre including cinemas, restaurants and 10-pin bowling is only a 10 minute drive.

About the Owner

We are Lesley and Phill Handscomb. We live in a small village called Bishopstone a few miles west of Hereford with the Black Mountains of Wales just 12 miles away. We are both recently retired teachers. We bought the apartment with the intention of spending more and more time there as we get older. We still have a young, golf mad teenager in school so, for a few years, we are restricted to using the apartment occasionally in the school holidays. We try to add something to the apartment every time we visit to make it more and more comfortable for whoever visits. We are lucky to have a lovely lady who looks after the apartment in our absence and greets guests when they arrive. The more we visit the more we fall in love with Armacao de Pera and the Algarve in general.

Excellent apartment

Excellent apartment! Really clean and with everything you might need for a self catering family holiday. Complex not too overcrowded despite peak season- although there are not many sun loungers by the pool so you need to be quick in the mornings. Great location for beaches and restaurants and the supermarket pingo doce just 10 mins walk away. We made good use of the bbq on balcony with lovely fresh fish! Had a gorgeous steak on a stone at Hera restaurant- and cheap drinks at pedros bar down on the promenade. Plenty of ice cream parlours and shops to peruse, All in all a great 2 weeks holiday we will definitely be returning again in the near future! Would highly recommend this apartment.

This is our third stay in the apartment over the last two years. It really is a home from home... with everything you need and more. It is in a quiet location but only five minutes walk takes you to the centre and beach. Restaurants we would recommend .... Gatsbys, L'Oasis, Bollywood and O Casaro. Definitely be back next year.

Activity and Interests


A gentle 5 minute stroll to the fabulous new promenade and the best, sandy beach in the Algarve - 7km long. Safe bathing with a gentle slope. In the summer months you can hire jet skis, pedoloes etc. Numerous other sandy beaches and coves nearby. The old part of town has many local restaurants, which offer a 3 course meal with wine for no more than 10 Euros. There are also English bars which run frequent 'pub' quizzes. The Tourist Bureau situated on the promenade next to the beach.


The nearest airport is Faro, less than 50 kilometres away, approximately 45 minutes drive east of Armacao de Pera - a very straightforward drive along the N125 road or the A22 motorway. Full details of how to get from the airport to the apartment can be provided. Car hire is available from Faro airport. However, this is not essential as many faciliities are within easy walking distance and the region is served by good local buses and taxis.


The nearest large town is Albufeira, 12 km east approximately 15 minutes drive from Armacao de Pera. The Zoomarine park and the giant Algarve Shopping Centre are situated between Armacao and Albufeira. The Slide and Splash waterpark is approximately 15 minutes drive west of Armacao towards Portimao.

East: - Albufeira approx. 12km; Vilamoura approx. 30km; Faro approx. 45 km.

West: - Portimao approx. 17km; Lagos approx. 30 km.

Further Details:

Located in the beautiful town of Armacao de Pera just west of Albufeira. There are numerous bars, banks, supermarkets and fine choice of restaurants within easy walking distance. The nearest supermarket is a large 'Pingu Dos' just round the corner from the apartment. There is a local daily market for fish, meat, vegetables and bread (usually mornings only). A speciality is fish, for which Armacao is well known. There are also many Multibanco cashpoint machines as well as chemists, pharmacies, dentists and doctors' surgeries.

Booking Notes:
A £100 deposit is required to secure the booking. Full payment of the balance is due no later than 8 weeks before the day of arrival. Provisional bookings will be held for 7 days pending written confirmation of booking and payment of the deposit. A 'damages deposit' of £150 is required with the final balance payment. This will be held against any breakages, damage or loss of keys and will be refunded within 7 days of departure where no damage or loss occurs.

Changeover Day:
These are flexible. On arrival guests will be able to access the apartment after 2pm and are requested to vacate by 10am to allow time for the apartment to be cleaned for the next guests. Earlier arrival and late departure will always be considered.

A 2nd week discount of 10% between May and September. A 2nd week discount of 15% between October & April. Discounts also available for periods for periods over 2 weeks.
