Villa set in a quiet prestigious ambiance and is fully surrounded by walled garden with breath taking views at Monchique mountains and Alvor sea-river. Large heated, lighted and saltwater pool with outdoor shower is surrounded by terraces, covered patio next to pool. At lower level in subtropical garden you also find covered bbq area with sink and snug corner. (Outdoor) covered terrace next to living with splendid pool and garden views is ideal for lunch/dinner and has sliding door to living with open fireplace, sat.tv incl all UK channels, cd player and airco installation. Separate dining room has open connection to living. Master bedroom, bathroom en-suite /kitchen are at same level. Two extra bedrooms and bathroom are at ground level. Both have sliding doors to garden and pool area.

Spent 11 days as a family of four at Maritima earlier this month, and could not have chosen a better appointed or better located villa. Only a 15-minute stroll to the centre of Alvor, coupled with a couple of decent restaurants within an even shorter walking distance. (The Kashmir Indian in Alvor is blinding)

The villa itself was clean and well-maintained, with the maid coming three times to change linen, towels, generally tidy etc. along with the pool (a safe haven for our young sons) being cleaned a couple of times and the garden tended,

The pool and the lower terrace areas offered choices to settle at various parts of the day, with the balcony providing a fine way to start the day over a coffee and finish it over an Aguardente Bagaçeira.

Gerard's communication in the booking process, background documentation and offers of support were well received and appreciated.

Wholeheartedly recommend.

Superb Villa

We have just come back from a fabulous week at Villa Maritima. It is in a beautiful location, very quiet with great views from the terrace, about 20 minutes walk from Alvor. The villa is spacious and well furnished with everything you could need. The pool area if very private with a large terrace and plenty of chairs and sun-loungers. I have nothing negative to say about this villa, it really is a great place to stay in Alvor.

Excellent villa with wonderful view

We had 2 great weeks in Villa Maritima. The view from the terrace is wonderful, with superb sunset over the Ria! The heated pool is lovely with plenty of shaded areas around. Inside the villa has good quality fittings and is very comfortable. In a quiet area with several restaurants nearby and a big supermarket 10 minutes walk away, and 20 minutes walk into Alvor centre. We would have no hesitation in booking again. Brian Rushby.

Coast/Beach:

The very authentic town Alvor with traditional fishing heritage is at walking distance. This town at sea dominates the river with opening into the Ocean. Here you find boulevard, terraces, cafes and restaurants. Near harbour area you can choose activities such as dolphins sea safari trips, deep sea fishing, sailing and boat trips. Here you find the lovely beaches of Meia Praia with dunes and cliffs which many believe to be 20 best of the world.

Travel:

Faro is the nearest airport. 40 minutes drive along the IP1 motorway to the villa.

Distances:

Alvor at walking distance and beaches 5 minutes by car or free bus. Market and fishing port of Portimão 6 km, Monchique and top peak of Foia are at 40 minutes drive, West coast beaches and Cape St Vincent near Sagres 50 minutes drive, 30 minutes to Zoo and Water World.

Further Details:

In Alvor you find bank, chemist, supermarket, private hospital. Big hypermarkets within 10 minutes drive to Portimão. Fishing and coastal sightseeing boat trips may be arranged along the quay front in Alvor and Portimão.

  • Notes on accommodation: The villa is designed over two levels also including the garden. There is a marble staircase down to two bedrooms and bathroom at ground level. There are mosquito screens on all the windows and doors. There is a closed car park to the villa. Children are most welcome. Security and privacy was thoughtfully designed within its layout. Villa was fully licensed (safety) in 2011 Outside: Private lighted, heated saltwater pool 8x4 metre, with isolation cover and outdoor shower. Next to the pool you find covered patio with site lounges, outside tables and chairs. At down level subtropical garden large covered bbq area. Utility Room: Ironing board, iron and storage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen service once a week. Large beach/pool towels clients have to take care of their own. Other: Air conditioning throughout master bedroom and living. There is a locked underground garage with tumble dryer for staff use only. Use of dryer on demand. Clients always may use washing machine.
