About Irene & Dennis Lester

My husband and I live in Mill Hill a suburb of London for over 20 years, we have a son and grandchildren, our dream was to own a place in our favourite place in the world south of France where we could go whenever we can.

Why Irene & Dennis Lester chose Lorgues

We fell in love the second we saw the most beautiful place in Provence the pretty village of Lorgues, nestled between the lakes and gourges of Verdon and the beaches of St Tropez and St Maxine., which are only 30 or so minutes away. The thousand year old village has the most beautiful cathedral plus 18 fantastic resturants serving from local auberge cuisine to fine dining to suit all pockets.

The area is full of full of vineyards in fact there is a vineyard just 100 yds away from the apartment, and also a bolongere ( Bakery) a mere 30 yrds away serving freshly made french-bread and croissants.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment has never been rented before, therefore it is in pristine condition, there is a large colour tv with british programes & with DVD player with a vast range of films to choose, plus a CD player/radio CD's and tapes from rock to classical.

There are two airports within 45-60 minutes of Lorgues Nice and Marseille, the motorway is far the easiest way but the secondary roads are far prettier to drive, a car is essential if you want to visit all the beautiful other places Provence has to offer.

Our apartment is very close to the village a mere 2-3 minutes walk, cafe's and street life abound, market day is Tuesday and is one of the busiest and largest in the Var.

Notes on accommodation: Please note that this property is for rental to adults only and we also request that the apartment is smoke & pet free. Outside: The property is situated on a modern private development with electric entry gates and intercom system. The grounds are well maintained and guests may make full use of the outdoor swimming pool (with WC's/changing rooms) and communal gardens. The property also has use of an allocated parking bay for your own private use only. Utility Room: N/a - however there is use of the following equipment: washing machine, iron and ironing board, airer, cleaning utensils. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide all linen /towels & tea towels and will ensure that enough is provided for the duration of your stay. There is a 60 euro (about £50) charge for cleaning per stay, which you leave in the apartment when vacated. Other: The balcony is furnished with a patio-wood table 4 chairs/cushions + 2 easy chairs. Lighting for evening dining.

Beautiful apartment in a fabulous area

This is a beautiful apartment and we had a wonderful week there at the end of August. The apartment is very tastefully decorated and has everything that you could possibly need. Shops and supermarkets are really close and the village is well situated for visiting other places of interest. Irene was brilliant in giving us additional information about the area before we arrived. The village itself has some lovely bars/ restaurants and the market on Tuesday is amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone and would love to return at some point.

There are so many beautiful walks in and aroung Lorgues/ bicycle -hire is available from village shop,


Approximately 35 mins drive away you have the coastal towns of St Maxine/Frejus and the famous St Tropez and many more, should you decide to go in the other direction the world famous Gorges of Verdon (35 mins )you will reach the mountains and the lakes, which has swimming/walking/boating & fishing with many cafe's & resturants.


Airports:Nice 115km (1 hour by car on the A8) Marseilles airport is approximately the same distance. Use of a car is recommended. Toulon is the closest airport but only BA & Ryan air fly from the UK.

Fréjus: 40km.

Nice: 115km.

Toulon: 65km.

Gorges du Verdon: 50km.

Coast: 40km.

St Tropez: 55km.

Rail Link (TGV): Les Arc 15km.

Further Details:

Lorgues has all amenities, and a good selection of pavement cafes and restaurants. It also boasts an excellent Provencal market every Tuesday. Lorgues is home to the world-famous truffle restaurant Chez Bruno. The Lorgues area is surrounded by vineyards, which produce some of the best, rose wines in Provence. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, sightseeing or just lounging next to the pool and soaking up the sunshine and sipping a chilled rose wine, and the famous Provencal food. Approximately 35 mins drive away you have the coastal towns of Toulon & St Maxine and the famous St Tropez and many more should you decide to go in the other direction in 35 mins you will reach the mountains and the world famous Gorges of Verdon and the lakes of St Crouix.

Booking Notes:
Bookings are to be made via email or phone on 01707 85 0636 We will require £150.00 reservation deposit to reserve your booking (please note that this is non refundable and is deducted from the rental price). The balance will need to be paid 8 weeks prior to your holiday. We will also require a key/damage deposit of £150 which will be returned to you after receiving back the property key.
There is a 60 Euro cleaning fee that is required at the end of your stay which will be payable in cash and left in the apartment.

Changeover Day:
Saturdays are normally the arrival and departure day, however, do please ask as we can be flexible if required.
Arrival times are from 2.30pm and departure times are no later than 10.30am (allow our cleaners time to clean for the next guests)

Notes on prices:
We are able to offer short or long stays (over 3 weeks and receive a discount)

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
