About the property

A house in Atri, Teramo, Abruzzo – 20minutes scenic drive to the Adriatic seaside

4 bedroom house overlooking the Monastery of Santa Chiara and situated in the centre of Atri. The property has been recently converted from three separate 18th century houses to form a spacious three storey house, 180square metres in total and refurbished in a classical Italian style.

Atri was originally founded in the 4th century BC and is one of the best hill villages in Abruzzo. From the pretty historical centre there are magnificent views over the mountains and out to the Adriatic Sea.

The house is 8miles (13km) away from the nearest beach in Pineto and 19miles (30km) away from Pescara harbour where you can sail out on our 3masted cutter boat. There are numerous beaches both serviced and unserviced as well as bars and restaurants on the coast line between Pineto and Pescara. The vibrant area has something day and night for families, couples or groups of friends.

About Elisa

Paolo Pensa, who was an Italian diplomat returned to his hometown Atri on his retirement and fully restored his family heritage Palazzo Torinese. The palazzo and annex are privately owned and managed by his family.

Why Elisa chose Teramo

The property is spacious, comfortable and easily big enough to accommodate families with kids or groups of friends. It has been renewed this year so everything is brand new apart from some antique furniture that gives character to the house.

What makes this house unique

The property is cleaned once per week ❊ The reception room is on the ground floor, barrier free access from the entrance on the street level. The room is big and good for activities or can be used as a studio or extra bedroom. There is a toilet and utility room with a washing machine on the same floor. ❊ A private courtyard with a lockable gate accessible via the outside door in via Santa Chiara with garden furniture.
