An ideal family holiday home, newly refurbished, including a lovely double room downstairs for those wishing to avoid stairs completely. A short distance to a host of local amenities including Pub serving delicious food, Shop and coffee shop. Set on edge of village with miles of county lanes and public footpaths and in a perfect position to explore the North Norfolk coast where you find everything from family beach fun to bird watching.

About Jo Tornberg

We love Norfolk! We enjoy walking and so do our two dogs! Having rented plenty of holiday homes with our family over the years when we were lucky enough to buy our own, I wanted to make sure it had everything we has always hoped for on arrival and were often disappointed not to find. I believe that's what we have achieved at Mill Bakery, its perfect!

Although we don't allow dogs upstairs in our lovely holiday home it's a perfect place with a reasonably secure garden & outdoor kennel with run. We can arrive, unload and go straight off for a walk without getting back in a car,then to the pub for supper! Even the teenagers find the sailing & catching up with friends in Burnham Market a fun place to be. Also a perfect location for our grandson being easy reach of the lovely Norfolk beaches.

Why Jo Tornberg chose Kings Lynn & West Norfolk

East Rudham has everything you want if you don't want to leave the village and its not far from the lovely North Norfolk coast if you want to walk by the sea or enjoy any of the activities from family beach fun to bird watching that Norfolk has to offer. The village has a lovely pub serving excellent food and theres a village shop all within walking distance.

What makes this barn unique

Mill Bakery is not fully adapted for the less able but it certainly has easy access with no steps into the house or anywhere on the ground floor. Also because of the downstairs bedroom and bathroom its perfect to bring my father who is registered blind and when I broken my leg and was in a wheel chair the house was fine - not easy to find in Norfolk with its small cottages and winding stairs! Being Dog owners its a holiday for our dogs as well, although even on holiday they are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture.

Mill Bakery is a gorgeous cottage set in the lovely village of East Rudham. The cottage is ideally located for leisurely walks from the door step. The cottage has everything needed for a relaxing break, it was comfortable and clean. The enclosed garden is ideal for dogs and children.

Notes on accommodation: The ground floor is suitable for the elderly, including a downstairs bedroom and and wet room & wc. The ground floor is all one level with no steps. There are 3 further double bedrooms on the first floor, one en-suite and a family bathroom. Outside: Patio area has BBQ and garden table and chairs for 8 The large enclosed garden has two main areas, nearest the house is reasonably secure for dogs. When you venture through the small hand gate half way down the garden you enter the area which backs on to a little stream and open fields and we do suggest you keep this gate closed if you have small children or dogs. There is outdoor kennel and run for 2 dogs max. However please do not leave dogs alone or overnight in the kennel if they are not used to it. We make a £25.00 charge per dog up to 2 dogs but please do pick up their 'mess' in the garden. To the side of the house is off road parking for 4 cars. Utility Room: Iron and ironing board. Clothes dryer. Picnic basket. Extra drinks fridge. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Mill Bakery is fully equipped to very high standard with linen on the beds and bathroom towels included but please note beach towels are not included in the cost of house rental. It is cleaned weekly on a Friday, extra cleaning is available by request. Other: Adjoining the sitting room is a conservatory leading to south facing rear garden with Gas BBQ and patio area that is a real suntrap.

Very enjoyable stay

On arrival, very pleasantly surprised on the size and homeliness of the Cottage. Everything was there that we needed to have a very enjoyable week. We had two small Grand Children with us and the garden was safe and made a good play area. The local pub was first class on hospitality and friendliness. They also made the grandchildren welcome. We will definitely be going back in the near future.

Lovely cottage, great location, well appointed

Lovely cottage, everything you needed. Lovely location.

Jo was very accommodating and helpful.

We sampled the tea room in the village and had lovely cakes! The Local pub served excellent food and was just a short walk.

Will definitely be returning when we come back to the area.

Review of Mill Bakery

Excellently appointed property with everything we needed. The beds were considered extremely comfortable by everyone, and that is very unusual. There was plenty of space, even with two dog cages, and it was well heated even though we had a very cold and wet spell in June! The garden would have been very pleasant if the weather had been better, being a reasonable size, easily accessed (which isn't always the case) and secure for bigger dogs.

The only suggestions we have for improvement are door stops to prevent the door handles hitting the walls on occasion and perhaps some new saucepans, a better grill pan and a bread knife.

The house was generally very clean and well maintained and the owner extremely helpful and kind. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to visit Norfolk.

We had an excellent day out at Bewilderwood, found Holkham Hall a little disappointing, possibly not helped by the wet weather, but enjoyed fish and chips by the sea in the sunshine.

More than lived up to expectations

Mill Bakery is gorgeous inside and out - a real home from home. Cosy sitting room with log burner was perfect for chilly nights and the biggest bed I've ever seen in the master bedroom - made for the best nights' sleep in a long time! Really well stocked kitchen in terms of equipment and utensils - more than enough for 8 people. Plenty of room for everyone. Towels and linen provided and the property was clean and well-maintained.

The owner, Jo, couldn't have been more helpful before the visit. Recommendations for The Crown Inn in the village and Holt for mooching around interesting little shops didn't disappoint. Wells-next-the Sea also great for invigorating walks along miles of gorgeous beach.

Will be back to the area before long and will definitely bear Mill Bakery in mind for a return visit and highly recommend to others.

Great place to relax with friends.

From our initial enquiry to our departure, everything ran perfectly. Jo couldn't have been more helpful answering our questions and importantly, all enquiries were dealt with quickly. The house itself is perfectly located, with gorgeous walks and beaches all within a short drive. The house is very well set up and laid out, with everything you could wish for to make your stay comfortable. The local pub is very handy, but not all it's cracked up to be. We had much better experiences at the Duck Inn in Stanhoe. A great venue to really relax with family and friends.

Simply wonderful

What a beautiful property, in a lovely area! The house its self is big with lots of space, I'm all about the finer details and this property has it all! The house its self has a very warm homely feel, we arrived later in the evening on a Friday night, the house had already got the heating on which was such a lovely touch. We where able to help ourselves to everything and anything. Now on to the bedrooms, firstly I would like to say the beds are extremely comfy, the pillows and duvet are duck feather what more could you ask for! There is plenty of space and there is bathrooms located near every single bedroom! Now I could go on for ever but just to try and sum it up, the property is beautiful, it the perfect area, with plenty of space, near to the Beach and Bernham Maket with a local pub nearby which serves incredible food. From someone who is very picky and is a bit of a perfectionist I would highly recommend this property, it's just perfect! So thank you for such a lovely stay and experience. Claire & Tom

Booking Notes:
I suggest you phone me and pay by cheque to my home address, this avoids any chance of fraud. Availability from Friday to Friday in high season, short breaks are available most of they year, Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday, please check availability at time of booking. The price is from £160.00 per night for short breaks or £700.00 per week depending on season. Weeks that include a Bank Holiday are only available for a full week booking. Up to two Dogs are welcome at £25.00 each per week. Bed linen and towels included but not beach towels.

Changeover Day:
Arrival time is from 4pm and departure is 10 am. Bookings are from Friday to Friday, Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday. Do check with owner for any other arrangements on arrival or departure times at the time of booking.

Notes on prices:
Prices per night are from £160.00 and can be arranged for weekend breaks and short stays, min 3 nights stay. There is a charge of £25.00 per dog per week. (2 dogs max). Prices and availability for 2015 start from £700.00 to £1150.00 per week. Bookings from Friday to Friday for week stays & Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday for short breaks. Linen and towels are included in cost but please bring your own towels for the beach. Please do give me a ring for more information.
