About the Owner

We live in beautiful Perthshire in Scotland. We fell for this part of Italy many years ago and purchased this lovely house as a family holiday home 6 years ago before embarking on a restoration programme with a local geometra known to us through a mutual friend. We have had many great times in Casa Wales with our 3 children, family and friends. We love it very much.

Wonderful tranquil and spacious!

  • 5 of 5

Judith and Iain's beautiful house and gardens are a glorious place to vacation! We were two families who found plenty of light-filled space in the house (and guesthouse!) and lots of fun on the terrace, in the pool, and on the grounds. The setting could not be more peaceful and charming. A short drive (or a hearty walk) up the hill takes you to beautiful Gualdo, and in just about any direction you will find yet another fabulous hill town with friendly inhabitants and go-to cafes and restaurants. Plus, for the kids, there's Fussball!

We loved being in Casa Wales, and recommend it most heartily!

Amazing property in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

A superb property in a tranquil location. We enjoyed the most wonderful family holiday with family and friends. I know the area well and have stayed in a number of properties over the years. This is by far the best.

The casa is maintained to the highest standards and provides all the facilities you can wish for. The pool is perfect for all ages and the footy table and wi kept the younger members of the family very happy. The property is situated in a quiet location, but has convenient access to local hill towns and the Conero coast is 45 mins away. Five stars simply isn't enough. Thank you, we'll be back.

Fantastic house and location

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd family visit to Casa Wales. We had a fantastic time spent both at the house (gardens had matured wonderfully since our last visit) and revisiting nearby villages. The house is well equipped and very spacious even with 10 of us staying. It is an ideal house/location for spending quality time together with family and friends. Highly recommended.

A wonderful property in an idyllic setting

  • 5 of 5

Yet again we have stayed at Casa Wales and had the most relaxing and wonderful holiday. As a returning guest we were amazed at the number of new places to see and visit. The information left at the property by previous guests really made it easy to go and try something different. From wonderfully manicured gardens to a welcoming and clean house it was all we could ask for. The relaxed and friendly pace of life in Gualdo will always be a draw for us.

A tastefully and sympathetically restored house

  • 5 of 5

This spacious farm house is nestled in the Italian mountains near the quaint village of Gualdo. The property was spotless and very well equipped for a large family or group of friends. The views from the terrace are second to none, ideal to enjoy the tranquil setting with a coffee or glass of wine. The beautiful pool makes a lovely addition to this property and with its adjoining terrace makes a lovely sociable space. It is a short car trip to neighbouring mountain top villages to enjoy the stunning scenery and sample local cuisine.

This property is the ideal location to spend quality time together and soak up the peace and quiet. I am looking forward to returning soon.

Beautiful villa in stunning scenery

  • 5 of 5

As our first visit to le Marche, we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the area. The villa is extremely well equipped and the views are breathtaking. We were extremely lazy and spent the majority of the time by the pool. We did venture out to the beach at Porto san Giorgio which was very pretty and worth the drive. The lake at Fiastra was a lovely surprise - beautifully clear water and the children revelled in swimming with the fish!

There is a noticeable lack of tourists which is refreshing and we found the local people very welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend the villa and hope to return one day.

Location

From the Owner

The area is very beautiful, peaceful and populated by great people. It is endlessly interesting, but never overrun by tourists, even in high summer. There are many restaurants to choose from, and an abundance of beautifully preserved hill top villages and small towns. The area is great for walkers and we particularly love the gorge walks in high summer, though there are many high peak options too. There is information in the house on these walks and on many local attractions.

Facilities

From the Owner

The house benefits from being very accessible, whilst is secluded without being remote. There are likely to be memorable wildlife encounters during a stay at the house with deer, boar, porcupines, buzzards, lizards, fire flies and many other animals in the vicinity. The village, which benefits from a very good value restaurant, two bars and a good range of shops, is about 2 kms away, and is walkable along tarmac (uphill on the way there) or via the 'white' road that cuts through the fields.
