Villa and Apartment in Tias, Lanzarote, Canary Islands - Extremely Peaceful Location, 15 Minute Drive To The Beach

Casa Molina is located in a uniquely private, peaceful and tranquil situation. The villa is based on the outskirts of the quaint old town of Tias & is only a ten minute walk to all the excellent amenities Tias has to offer.


Mariposa is a very comfortable one bedroom apartment & is located on the same plot, but it is not next door or near to the villa, therefore assuring privacy and tranquility at all times for both properties.

Both properties are south facing, and have sun terraces to indulge in sunbathing or to enjoy alfresco dining. Ample and comfortable outside furniture are provided to add to guests comfort & enjoyment.

Good WIFI is available in both properties.

Many guests enjoy a 'working holiday' as the internet is so good!

An ideal base for those who wish to independently explore the island, but do not particularly wish to hire a car for the whole duration of their holiday.

A communal 'Coin Operated' washing machine is available for guests' use.

About the Owner

I relocated to Lanzarote after falling in love with this very special island which I immediately felt was “home”. Extensive work was carried out to Casa Molina, & it has been successfully rented out to discerning guests ever since, with many revisiting.

I live close by, so I am always on hand to give advice, make recommendations or assist guests if they have any problems at all!

My other family member is Georgie, a very sociable (castrated) stray cat who adopted us in 2007! However, Georgie will not visit guests unless they want him to. However, if Georgie ever becomes a problem guests only need to inform me.

Casita Mariposa became the second addition to the portfolio, and has proved to be a very popular apartment, with many repeat guests.

El Nido is a large one bedroom apartment with a large sun terrace, & its own private entrance & parking area. This apartment is ideal for a longer let and offers the same peace and quiet & fabulous sea & garden views.

Casa Blanca & Pen's Ancla Studio Apartments

Both offer a comfortable base for both short or long term stays, with a south facing sun terrace & same spectacular sea & mountain views.

Just right!

We stayed for nine days at Casita Mariposa. Vicki is a friendly and helpful owner and emailed advice and instructions promptly. The apartment, although in a quiet, scenic location, is within walking distance of the centre of Tias and the main bus routes. Tias has a well stocked supermarket and numerous restaurants and bars - Vicki's hand drawn map covers all of this! If you hire a car, the apartment is just minutes off the island's main north - south road.

Inside, it's light and airy and the sheltered patio outside the living area is great for al fresco eating, sunbathing and just viewing most of the eastern side of the island and Fuerteventura in the distance.

In short, just right for us, not too formal - so homely and relaxing. Heartily recommended!

Fantastic relaxing short stay

We stayed for a long weekend to see our family, and had the most relaxing stay in Vicki's casita. It's a place where we will be coming again and again, as everything is easily accessible but still enough out the way to unwind.

I loved having George (the cat) around aswell, he's a proper little character. We'll be back soon for sure.

Near Blackpool

Our stay at Casita Mariposa

We spent a lovely 2 weeks at Casita Mariposa. Everything we needed for self catering plus internet access which was a bonus. The apartment has a very comfortable bed and we came home feeling very relaxed and well. Some of the most impressive sunsets and sea views across to Fuerteventura that you could wish for can be seen from the garden. The owners Vicki and JP live nearby, are very helpful but not intrusive, and they offer transfers from the airport. We loved it so much we are returning next year. If you want a nice relaxing away from it all holiday this is the place to go, or you could hire a car and tour the island.

The main reason for buying Casa Molina was without a doubt the location! The property also has lots of character with a beautiful lush garden to match. The varied flora and fauna which inhabit the garden make it all the more special, & all this can be enjoyed away from the busier & noisier areas of Tias. The villa is located on the very edge of Tias with fantastic access to the the main "ring road" and with its central location, makes access to the rest of the island very convenient and quick. A short pleasant walk takes you to the centre of Tias with its varied & excellent restaurants. Plus bakeries, great food shops (fresh & frozen foods), Medical Centre which is open 24 hours a day. Florists, hairdresser, pharmacy. Despite the vast amenities on offer, Tias remains a very friendly & unspoiled small town. The locals are extremely helpful & very welcoming! A short car drive or bus journey will take you to the small beach resort of Playa Honda, which hosts our new Overseas food shop, which sells Iceland & most English food products. Here at Christmas and fancy a mincepie, you'll find these here! If you want to stay in a quiet, peaceful and non commercialised location, and still want good public transport and amenities then ...... our properties are for you! Come and find out for yourself!

The island offers many interesting walks, either independently or with a registered/qualified guide, who will demonstrate the real Lanzarote and its natural beauty at its best! Breathtaking volcanic scenery, as well as places of historical and natural interest.

It is even possible to go on a guided walk around the active volcano of Timanfaya National Park!

Don't forget your camera!

Qualified outdoor 'Activity Leaders' can also be booked to take you caving, kayaking, diving, surfing, mountain biking - the choice is yours!

Or participate in the Island's annual Triathlon, or just come and spectate!

You will find many websites on line offering you all the information you require, and in many cases you can book excursions, bicycles with delivery etc. before you arrive on the island.

Lanzarote's unique landscape and beaches offers something for every sports enthusiast.

The nearest beach of Puerto del Carmen is a 15 minute drive or taxi/bus ride away.

Approximate cost for a bus to PDC is 1€ and 5€ for a taxi. Prices correct at time of publishing, but please always re-check.

The island is normally a very safe island to travel around, and is ideal for solo travellers. Solo travellers can join up with other groups to share in the enjoyment of excursions, outdoor activities etc.

Airport transfers can be arranged from approximately 15,00€.


Nearest airport (only) is Arrecife, which is a 20 minute car journey away.

A car is not essential unless you wish to extensively explore the island.

Tias centre has everything you need, without venturing further afield if you only desire a quiet, relaxing holiday. Airport transfers & a trip to the supermarket can be arranged/shopping service with prior notice.

Bikes can be hired, & these can also be delivered to the villa or apartment with prior notice.


Puerto del Carmen - 15 minute drive.

Timanfaya National Park - 30 minute drive.

Jameous del Agua - 35 minute drive.

Further Details:

Hiperdino is a large well stocked supermarket complete with fresh fish, meat counters and delicatessen & is situated in Tias centre.

Ropers, Chacon are two other supermarkets and tend to sell those extra special local items & good wines etc.

Maceys is a small English supermarket which sells many UK food items.

There is a coffee shop next door if you fancy a drink before or after shopping.

Several bakeries in Tias centre - even open Sundays for those fresh croissants! San Antonio highly recommended on Calle Libertad, Tias.

Several excellent restaurants within walking distance, or short car drive.

Several very good shopping centres in Puerto del Carmen and Playa Honda.

With a children's play park too!

It is a strict prerequisite to booking, that guests have adequate holiday insurance to cover all of the above.

Holiday balances payable 6 weeks prior to the arrival date.

Upon confirmation of a booking: Payment details, a booking form, plus directions/map will be sent to clients.

Airport transfer information can be provided upon request or local British owned car rental company details.
Apartments have use of a washing machine which is 'coin operated' and there is an outside drying area plus clothes airer for use on the apartment terrace.

For late arrivals, a shopping service for groceries can be arranged with prior notice. Fee applicable.

Flexible changeover day. Check in time 14:00hrs. Check out time 10:00hrs. Luggage can be dropped off from 10:30hrs on day of arrival. If departure flights are late, it may be possible to pay for a "Late Check Out" & use the accommodation on your last day.

The one thing that Casa Molina & Casita Mariposa both have to offer, that some other Tias villas & apartments do not, is undoubtedly the privacy and peace & quiet away from the crowds plus the amazing uninterrupted sea views! The photos do not do the views justice, you have to come and see these for yourselves. Read the testimonials of previous guests. CASA MOLINA VILLA: The villa's pool area has high walls & offers complete privacy for those who like to sunbathe in the nude. APARTMENT MARIPOSA: The apartment has its own separate driveway & parking area, plus a peaceful south facing sun terrace. BOTH PROPERTIES: Both properties offer fantastic uninterrupted sea views, which are breathtaking by day, and magical by night! The owner, Vicki is sometimes at home in a property close by, and is readily available if required. In her absence, her manager is available. Vicki's property, when she is at home is totally separate from the villa and apartment, & Vicki will only visit guests if requested. Some guests like the fact that the owner (an ex-nurse) is on hand if required.

Repeat guests are in for a treat!

Outside of Apartment Mariposa: A well stocked garden, with trees, shrubs etc. There is a large parking area to the front of the one bedroom apartment, with outside lighting to the apartment terrace. The entrance to the apartment & parking area is via the rear of the main property & totally separate to the villa. There is a reasonable level of privacy & a high level of tranquillity. Casa Molina: The villa's pool terrace is a very pretty area, with a walled garden, and an attractive shaped, 7x4 metre swimming pool. A pretty ornamental flowering tree also provides natural shade to the pool terrace, where alfresco dining can be enjoyed. Ample outside furniture with cushions are provided for guests' comfort. A separate terrace, complete with BBQ overlooks the pretty garden & sea views! A large forecourt to the front of the villa provides secure parking and is automatically illuminated at dusk. Please refer to Google Earth for further clarification. Both properties offer extreme levels of privacy & tranquility, with amazing beautiful sea views
