Apartment 10A Alexander Street, The Old Village, Vilamoura, Algarve - Situated In Beautiful Landscaped Gardens, Close To Superb Beaches And Golf Courses

The apartment is situated on the ground floor and with easy access to all the splendid facilities of The Old Village, it is ideal for the less mobile or young families. It has recently been completely refurbished to a high standard and has air-conditioning for the summer months and a log burning stove for cosy winter use. The garden and terrace is south facing. The Old Village architecture is based on the 18th Century classical buildings of southern Portugal with 2 and 3 storey houses and apartments, painted in traditional pastel colours, in a lovely garden setting. The complex is pedestrianised, with calcader paved walkways leading to the 3 swimming pools, children's play area, the supermarket and the various bars and restaurants. There is the re-assurance of 24 hour security. Our agent is on-site should you wish to book car hire, coach trips or other activities. For keen golfers there are superb golf courses close by, with the Pinhal Course surrounding the complex. WiFi Internet access is now available in the apartment at no extra cost.

Beautiful apartment and spotlessly clean.

From the moment I contacted Patricia about booking her lovely apartment she was really helpful.

Excellent driving directions and loads of information about the apartment itself. We arrived at 9.30pm , security were watching for us ,as the office was closed ,and let us straight in to the apartment where the provisions we had requested had been delivered.

The apartment was clean and homely and the bed was firm and very comfortable. There are more than enough pots/pans and plates to facilitate self catering and (this is a first !) they didn't need to be washed before use.

The weather was 19 degrees by day but, obviously, cold in the evening which Patricia had told us and arranged for security to switch on the oil-filled heater to warm the rooms for our arrival. The air con/heating also worked perfectly.

There were no restaurants open in the Old Village but this was not a problem as we had hired a car and there were a selection open in Vilamoura a 5 minute drive away. The garden was great for a coffee in the morning and a little sun trap in the summer.

Thank you for your hospitality Patricia , I had a lovely Birthday weekend .

We will definitely be returning !

Fantastic Property

We had a great family Holiday at this property. The apartment was lovely and spacious and had everything possible you would need. The garden was an added bonus with our two little ones as they were able to play outside in a safe environment. It was also great having the kids tv stations so that when they were tired they could watch something on tv to relax. Also Patricia the owner was so helpful when booking and answered all my questions and she even arranged to have groceries in the apartment for us, as we arrived in on a late flight and would need water etc for the baby in the morning. We would absolutely recommend this property.

Lovely little apartment, prefect family stay

The property was perfect for a young family of 4 and equipped with everything we needed. Plenty storage, some toys and games for the kids, good kitchen with proper utensils. We had a lovely week!

The Old Village

This was our first visit to Portugal and it won't be our last! The Old Village is an excellent location for a relaxing holiday and close to the harbour and town of Vilamoura. The apartment was the icing on the cake, so clean and modern with everything you could need, even a gardener! We ate in a couple of nights and then popped along to one of the bars within the Old Village; other nights we visited some of the many restaurants in the town. We hired a car and went to a couple of restaurants in remote villages where we had some lovely meals without the touristy prices. We can't thank the owners of the apartment enough for letting us share what is an absolute treasure. We will be back :-)

Location

From the Owner

I was introduced to, and fell in love with, the beautiful surroundings of the Old Village by friends who have had a holiday home there since it was first built. In 2003 I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase the apartment. It has been well used by family and friends over the years and my husband and I have enjoyed our long visits at different times of the year. We have made a number of friends in the area, of various nationalities, either visitors like us or permanent residents. These friends have shown us parts of the Algarve and the Alentajo region, away from the tourist areas, that we would not have explored on our own.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Approximately 15 minutes walk to the Vilamoura Marina & 20 minutes walk to the small Marina beach. A Road Train will take you to the large, Blue Flag, Falasia Beach. Alternatively it is approximately 30 minutes walk or 10 minutes drive to this particular beach. There is a large beach & promenade at Quarteira & this is approximately the same distance as the Falesia Beach, in the opposite direction. All beaches are clean & well maintained.

Travel:

The Old Village is approximately 30 minutes drive from Faro Airport. A Hire Car is not necessary unless you wish to explore further afield than the Vilamoura area or have mobility problems. A Taxi transfer from the airport can be booked for you.

Distances:

The apartment is approximately 15 minutes walk to the Vilamoura Marina and 20 minutes to the Marina Beach The larger Falesia beach is approximately 30 mins walk or can be reached by using the Road Train which runs very frequently & has pick up & drop off points all around Vilamoura. The small town of Quarteira has lots of shops, restaurants & a very long promenade & beach & is approximately 30 mins walk.

Further Details:

There is a supermarket, restaurants, a cafe & bars in the Old Village. Other restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops, pharmacies, banks & post office, can be found in Vilamoura and the neighbouring town of Quarteira. There is a Medical Centre & church in Vilamoura & a public indoor swimming pool in Quarteira, all within walking distance from the Old Village. A large Water Park is situated on the outskirts of Quarteira and can be easily reached by car, Taxi & bus.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required when booking the apartment. The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to your stay. If the booking is made less than 8 weeks prior to your stay then payment is required in full at the time of booking. Payment is accepted in GBP by cheque, electronic Bank Transfer or by PayPal, and in Euros by electronic Bank Transfer only.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day can be flexible. The apartment is normally available after 3pm on arrival day and is to be vacated by 10am on departure day. For early arrivals and late departures it may be possible to accommodate these depending on other bookings.

Prices may be negotiable at certain times of the year and discounts are available for returning guests and long lets, please contact the owner for further information.

25% Deposit required to confirm booking with the Balance due 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday.

From the Owner

When we are staying in the apartment in the warmer months, we love to have our breakfast outside on the south facing terrace. Depending on the time of year there are Swallows swooping about the gardens, Blackbirds and Hoopoe's looking for worms or Storks gently circling in the sky. The 3 swimming pools on the complex provide relaxation or exercise, plus fun for the children. During the cooler months we make good use of the woodburning stove which heats the apartment very efficiently. We collect pine cones from around the local golf course to supplement the logs that we buy from the supermarket. This year the apartment was completely refurbished and now has air-conditioning. Now that we are becoming a little less mobile, we are thankful that we have a ground floor apartment!
