Holiday accommodation near Montefiore dell'Aso, Le Marche, Italy - Lovely Location With Panoramic Views, Close To Beach And Ammenities

The apartment is set within a large country house, but is perfectly private having it's own entrance and not over looked. There is a large terrace with table and chairs for al fresco dining. Far reaching views over vine covered hills, with view of the pool and garden.

Also for larger groups there is a separate one bedroom cottage, sleeps 2, and has all amenities (For details please enquire with the owners)

Only 10 minutes from the pretty small blue flag resort of Cupra Marittima , having plenty of bars and restaurants. A lovely sandy beach and safe bathing. There is also a walk/ cycle path along the sea front taking one to the next resort of Grottammare and on to the port and city of San Benadetto.

About the Owner

Pam and David are both retired (or supposed to be). They are originally from Yorkshire. Pam worked at London Airport and then returned to Yorkshire and became a monumental mason. David spent all his working life in the glass container industry.

Why the owners chose this area -

We never knew about Le Marche until we saw some TV programmes, so we decided to take a look and were amazed how beautiful and historical it was - a hidden gem! Our friends tell us our area is better than Tuscany - no crowds or high costs.

We are convenient for the seaside and mountains, rural, but within easy reach of shops and supermarkets.

If you want to chat with us, do telephone. We have a price arrangement with Italia Telecom so we will call you back .(Europe only) Otherwise please use the internet.

Marche magic!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from 2 weeks stay at this apartment and it has been one of the best family holidays we can remember. The accommodation is extremely comfortable with every possible convenience you could wish for including a delicious homemade pasta sauce waiting for you upon arrival! Many enjoyable and relaxing hours can be spent on the large terrace with great views over the nearby hills, dips in the pool, and perhaps a glass of something local adding to perfect days.

The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, with lots of tips and local knowledge to share if required; nothing seemed to be too much trouble. A special mention for Tilly the dog who is a real character and was adored by the children!

We found this unspoilt part of Italy to be absolutely stunning and this apartment is the perfect base from which to explore it. Highly recommended, we would return without hesitation!

Superb holiday apartment

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded all our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped with tasteful decor and good quality bed linen. The owners are still constantly making improvements and are very hospitable and friendly and go the extra mile by providing plenty of food for first night's dinner and breakfast the next day as well as pool/beach towels. They were always on hand to offer help and advice during our stay. The views from the property are stunning and location close to nearby coastal towns, medieval hill top towns, restaurants and markets. We particularly enjoyed visiting Ascoli Piceno and Fermo.

A little bit of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned from a week in this idyllic part of the world. Our stay in Pam and Daves cottage was just perfect. Attention to detail was second to none. They were both so kind and helpfull. Nothing was too much trouble. The accomadation was beautifully located. To look out at the rolling hills in the morning was inspiring. The standard of accomadation was outstanding and super clean. Really the pictures don't do it justice. We highly recommend a stay here.

Faultless, Flawless, Fantastic

This apartment has everything you could ask for or need - it is spacious, smart, comes equipped with dishwasher , iron, W/Machine.

Pam's welcome pack is most comprehensive, she even left us a jar of homemade sauce for our first pasta dish, brilliant!

The area itself is ideal - Beach in 10 mins - cool mountain air in 1 hour.

The Sea water is like a warm bath and extremely safe for children as there is no Shelf and still it only comes up to their waist after 100 yards.

The surrounding hills are alive with small towns and Basilica. We were there in Mid -Sept to end Sept. When we got into our car at midday the temp read 30.5 degrees! but settled down once on the road and beach to 25 degrees.

From the Owner

It is close to beach, mountains, airports, and everything you could possibly need, not forgetting the excellent local cantinas.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Wind surfing lessons available in Cupra. Bike hire on the coast. Walking routes available within the Sibillini National Park- One hour by car. Historical interest in the many medieval towns including a church said to contain the bones of St Thomas à Becket.

The small resort of Cupra Marittima is 10 minutes away by car. The next town of Grottammare is within walking distance along the sea walk from Cupra and contains examples of beautiful Liberty villas. Both resorts have Blue flag status with sandy beaches and safe bathing.

Ancona airport 86km 1 hour. Pescara airport 117km 1 hour 20 min.

Rimini 188km 2 hours. Rome Airport (Ciampino) 252km 2 hours 30 min./ Fiumicino 282km 3 hours. A car is essential.

All distances in time by car: Montefiore dell'Aso 5 minutes. Ascoli Piceno, half an hour. Fermo, half an hour. Ripatransone, 10 minutes. Offida, 15 minutes.

Beaches, 10 minutes. Shops, cafes, bars and restaurants 10 minutes.

Further Details:

Our nearest town is Montefiore dell'Aso, a few minutes away; home of the famous Crevelli paintings. The Provincial Capital of Ascoli Piceno is half an hour by car. A beautiful city older than Rome (antique market 3rd Sat./ Sun in the month) During July and August, there are medieval pageants and jousting as part of the Quintana, an annual celebration of the city's medieval past. Another must visit is Fermo - half an hour by car, with its Roman cisterns under the piazza which provided water for the old town. Nice market on Thursday evenings July and August. There are too many hilltop towns to mention-perhaps Ripatransone 10 minutes away with its open air Opera in Summer. Also Offida 15 minutes away, a famous lace making centre. San Benedetto is a large city with Italy's biggest fishing fleet, and an excellent selection of fish restaurants. Bars and discos provide a lively nightlife. A good market on Tuesdays and Fridays. Porto San Giorgio also has a lively market on Thursdays. Further afield: Loreto is second only to Lourdes as a place of Pilgrimage - one can see the domes of the church from the motorway at Ancona. Other visits could include Urbino, Frasassi caves, the Republic of San Marina or the Abbazia di Fiastra (abbey) which is a beautiful place, now also a nature reserve. There are many lovely walks to combine with a shopping trip to Tods, Prada and Cesare Paciotti (if you want to splash out). Don’t forget they open about 4:30 pm ’til 7:00 /7:30pm. A day trip to Rome is a possibility- there are three buses a day from Cupra Marittima. One could stay overnight and return next day. (Pam can book the bus for you). The trip takes 2 and a half to three hours - great scenery en route. Get into the hills by taking a trip into the mysterious Sibillini mountains and explore the magical Pian Grande at Castelluccio, famous for its wild flower, and air sports (paragliding and hang gliding). Plenty of other information available.
