lovely and well-appointed cottage

Great comms from Paul prior to arrival. Directions and description of cottage and amenities spot on and the local agent (Derek) on site was great as well. Quite a quirky and interesting set up for this cottage and the others, with a shared pool (two properties) which enables you to meet your neighbours, which was very nice. Situated on a quiet road, a short walk down into the village with a good bar and two restaurants, all of which treated us as locals throughout our four week stay. A lovely walk up into the foothills direct from the doorstep was great for our dog. The cottage is a 10 minute drive from Argeles and 15 minutes from Collioure, one of the most picturesque spots you can imagine. We would definately recommend Cottage D'Alberes if you want a quiet and comfortable location within 10 minutes of the coast and with great views of the Pyrenees within a 5 minute walk from your door.

A perfect, beautiful stay in rural France!

Cottage Canigou is a lovely place to stay in a small village close to the lively towns of Argeles sur Mer and Collioure, the village itself, although quiet, has everything you need, and the locals are really friendly. The shop, bar and restaurant are a short work down the hill and you really get a feel for life in France. We took bikes, which was a great way to get around as there is so much to see in the surrounding area. The cottage has a really homely feel and I loved the layout, the pool and garden are beautifully maintained and we had some really lovely poolside BBQ's. We had a great stay and will definitely go back :)

Beautiful cottage in the South of France

From the start of the booking process Paul and Annette were excellent. Everything was clearly explained by them before we arrived from details about the house to the local restaurants. Everything was as we expected and more. The website was also extremely helpful and clear. We found the location to be great. Villelounge-dels-monts was a quiet, small, typical French village at the foot of the Alberes mountains. The village has everything you need including a small shop which sells all the essentials , a post office and small bar, as well as Coco Pizza -all within 5 minutes walking distance. We went to Coco Pizza several times. The food was great, but what really made it for us was the service. In terms of the house, everything was as expected and it served our needs perfectly. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms of a good size. The pool was lovely and having a pool alarm was also reassuring and also made the kids take pool safety seriously. We enjoyed the pool every day. Our kids were tall enough to stand up in the shallow end and can both swim so they had a great time playing in it for hours every day. We would definitely visit again and can not recommend Paul and Annette highly enough for their excellent customer service.

Lovely property in nice location.

We stayed in Cottage des Alberes which was lovely and clean and well equipped with everything you could need, ideal for our family. The garden was nice with a large pool which was cleaned at least a couple of times during the week. The house is in a quiet village but with quick access to main roads making visits to Girona and Carcassonne easy. I can also recommend a visit to Castlenou and the lovely, although busy Collioure. Paul and Annette were very friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Would certainly recommend.

Spring Time in Villelongue-de-Monts

The property was really comfortable with everything you needed The weather was kind for the time of year and we easily visited Andorra, Barcelona and Girona from the property An ideal base to visit Southern France and Northern Spain The owners were really friendly The local beach is long with a large marina therefore a place to kill a few hours with restaurants and bars most were quite reasonable

RoussillonFarmhouse and Mas d’en Porte have been in our family for the past 30 years. So popular are our properties and the region we bought the two adjoining cottages. At some stage we might even spend more time in France - as opposed to the wet and colder climate of Lancashire, UK! We have had the benefit of bringing up our son, Luke, in France and he loves the region for the sun, the sea, the mountains and the outdoor life. He learnt to windsurf, water ski, snow ski / board, mountain bike, cook and the art of hospitality. We hope you can enjoy our properties and the Roussillon region and look forward to being of service to you.

Why they chose this property

We have been visiting the Roussillon region since 1979 and of course we would say we love it. The region has everything - the sun, the sea and the mountains - together with a a rich history, culture, countryside, nature, food, wine and friendly Catalan hospitality. If you have not already been, then you won't be disappointed.

What makes this property unique

Our properties have been renovated to a high standard, with several ensuite bedrooms, Wifi, Telephone (free calls to landlines in EU etc), SAT TV etc.

Most people ask - Can you walk in to the village to the boulangerie for bread and croissants and to a bar / restaurant in the evening?? The answer is YES - it's just a 750 metre walk. And there is a market once a week (Wednesdays).
