Seascape is located on level 1 and offers unparalleled views across the beach and sea from all rooms and the huge 11m balcony. Endless hours can be spent just enjoying the views, watching the surfers and listening to the sound of the waves. The apartment is all on one level and is superbly presented, fitted out in a very modern style with very bright and light open plan kitchen and living accommodation. It has 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and offers ideal holiday accommodation for both a relaxing short break or longer family vacation.

Fabulous in every way!

We chose Seascape for our family holiday this year because of its proximity to the beach and the high quality of the accommodation. We were not disappointed! The apartment was extremely clean with top-quality furniture and fittings. Someone has put some real thought and care into this! There was an excellent welcome pack - not just the bog-standard teabags and wine, but locally-made biscuits and other treats. As the apartment is so close to the beach, it meant that we could all be truly independent - kids did not have to wait for parents to ferry them around in the car, for example, they could just visit the beach under their own steam whenever they felt like it, for bodyboarding, kayaking and surfing. We had planned to eat out most evenings, but after seeing the view from the balcony, ended up dining in, with that superb view. Location-wise, the apartment is well-situated for rambling, and visiting nearby beaches and villages by car. We so enjoyed staying at Seascape, and, as we research our 2015 summer holiday, find that other accommodation just does not come up to scratch!

Location

We first came on a family holiday in the 1970's staying in a nearby camp site. We loved the beaches at Saunton and Croyde and came back many times and then family moved to the area in 1980 so we have visited every year since. Oceanpoint is a once in a life time dream location, bang on the beach and yet close to relatives.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Saunton Sands which is directly accessed via the coast footpath from the front of the development and runs down the cliff to the beach. Saunton Sands is a family friendly beach with over 3 miles of golden sand. The beach has good facilities including the popular Sands Cafe (run by the Saunton Sands hotel), a further cafe and beach shop, WC facilities, surf hire shop, surf lessons etc. Croyde and Woolacombe beaches are very close by (1 mile, 6 miles respectively).

Travel:

The nearest airports are Exeter (1.5 hours drive) and Bristol (2 hours drive). There are regular trains to both Exeter and Tiverton Parkway from London Paddington and also National Express coach services from London/Bristol/Exeter to Barnstaple. The is a regular bus service from Barnstaple to Braunton and Saunton Sands. Car use is however preferred if holiday makers are to make the most of this lovely area.

Distances:

The nearest large village is Braunton which is about 2 miles away. The picturesque village of Croyde is less than 1 mile away. The market town of Barnstaple is about 15-20 mins drive away and has a good shopping centre and other facilities such as cinema, theatre, sports centre. Exmoor National Park can be reached in about 20 mins. The Victorian town of Ilfracombe is about 20 mins drive away.

Further Details:

Braunton is the largest village in England and contains a good range of shops including 2 supermarkets (Co-op and Tesco), about 9 surf shops, various local shops including bakers, butchers, grocery store etc, a few banks, many restaurants and pubs (Williams Arms and Agricultural Inn being well worth a visit) and tourist information centre.

Croyde is a very picturesque village right on the seaside with a super blue flag beach, It has numerous local shops, surf hire shops, pubs (Thatched Barn is the most well known) as well as many small restaurants. The Ruda holiday camp is located on the edge of the village. There is horse riding available.

Barnstaple is the market town of North Devon and as such has a good range of facilities including shopping centre, market, theatre, cinema, sports centre (inc swimming pool), 10 pin bowling (at Barnstaple Motel just outside town on way to Braunton), train and bus stations and churches of all main denominations.

The National Trust owns the cliff top at Baggy Point running from Croyde to Woolacombe which can be accessed from their car park at the north end of Croyde (small fee).

Booking Notes:
Upon receipt of your enquiry, we will confirm availability, send to you the booking forms and hold the property for 7 days whilst the booking forms are returned. A 30% deposit payment will be required with the booking form with the balance being due 8 weeks before the booking commences. Full terms and conditions will be sent with the booking confirmation. A security deposit of £300 will be required, refundable at the end of the booking.

Changeover Day:
During the peak summer seasons, the changeover day is Saturday and the apartment will usually be available from 3pm. Outside of the high season we can offer more flexibility. We are also open to short stay long/weekend bookings (Friday - Monday).

Notes on prices:
Prices are all inclusive and are for a full week.
Outside the peak holiday seasons we accept short term (4 day/long weekend) lets by arrangement and prices of 75% of the usual full weekly rate. A security deposit of £300 in the event of any damage will be taken, refundable after your holiday.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.

We just love sitting and watching the beach, the surfers and the waves or just relaxing with a drink in the sunshine (the balcony faces due south and is protected so is a great suntrap, especially welcome in the winter/spring and autumn). The area has some fantastic scenery, villages and walks, all easily accessible from Seascape.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Seascape is a luxury apartment and we request that guests treat it with care. All utilities are included in the rental price. No pets are allowed. The property is let on a non smoking basis for insurance and comfort purposes. No BBQs are allowed on the balcony or within the grounds. Outside: The apartment has a large 11m wide balcony running the full width onto which the lounge and bedrooms have direct access. It has a variety of balcony furniture including table and 4 chairs, 2 sun loungers and 2 reclining chairs. Externally there is a landscaped communal garden with 2 wash down external showers, large car park at the front of the building with 1 allocated car park space and some additional visitor spaces (short duration only). The property is accessed via electrically controlled entrance gates with video entrance phone to the apartments. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Hand and bath towels and all bed linen are provided and changed weekly. The property is cleaned before and after each let using a local housekeeping service. Other: Separate surf board store within communal wet room facility.
