About the Owner

I live in Alberobello, the unique 'trulli town', one of the Italian Unesco World Heritage in the south of Italy, with my husband and my two sons. The Trulli Paparale have belonged to our family since 1800, and since I have been retired, I like to take care of them.

Unique & peaceful accommodation

  • 4 of 5

Maria is a lovely & helpful host, she set us up well providing us with homemade jam, coffee, milk and biscuits and a bottle of local wine and a good introduction to the town. The property (Spiga) is perfect for a couple and is in very good condition (clean and finished to a high standard). It has all the kitchen essentials you need, nice towels and a comfy double bed. The lounge is very small, just an alcove really with a sofa (although the sofa is large and enough for two or three people to sit on) we spent most time sat at the lovely table in the centre of the open plan area.

The swimming pool is very large, clean and the garden is a lovely space to relax in. This trullo has it's own private terrace where we had breakfast every day at a large table and it has a BBQ too. It's in a lovely area, just outside town so it feels like you're in the countryside but there's a good mini market and amazing cheese shop at the end of the road where you can buy fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheese! Centre of town is an easy 15min walk from the property.

We will go home rested & very happy!

My family and I love trulli not only because they are part of the world heritage but also because they are really beautiful as they are in a unique position with a splendid landscape and surrounded by the peaceful countryside of olive trees. The area is easily accessible with Bari and Brindisi airports less than an hour drive away.

From the Owner

The Trulli Paparale are just 10/15 minutes walk from Alberobello centre with its wide range of restaurants, bars, pizzeria. If you like to have your meals in the comfort of the apartments, you can choose between local caterers who offer tasteful food at reasonable prices or cooking by yourself in the comfortable and fully furnished kitchens of the apartments. The Trulli Paparale are at reasonable distance (from 20 minutes to about 1 hour driving) from a lot of interesting places to visit in Apulia. Next summer our guests will probably enjoy of a swimming pool in the garden. We are working for that!
