Get away from it all for a while, relax and enjoy home comforts in this south facing ground floor apartment. Small quiet and secure block of 10 private apartments with a pool and well maintained tropical gardens. The fabulous large private terrace benefits from the sun from early morning until sunset and has space for alfresco dining and sun beds with room to spare. The apartment is set back a few hundred meters from the seafront making it convenient for nearby shops, bars and restaurants while maintaining a peaceful ambience both day and night. A local supermarket is only around the corner while the apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen including oven and four ring hob. Centrally located with no need for a car and only a ten minute taxi transfer from the airport and 8 minutes walk from the Playa Grande Beach where you can enjoy scuba diving, windsurfing and other water sports. For golfers it’s within a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk of the new 18 hole course.

About The Owner

We've been visiting the Canary Islands for years and especially Lanzarote. Having realised how often we've visited and how much we loved the island and climate we decided to purchase our own property. So in November 2010 we took the plunge and after the last two weeks in the sun we've decided to offer our apartment for rent on owners direct.

Why The Owner chose Puerto del Carmen - Tias

As soon as we viewed the property we knew it was for us. It's not the usual holiday let with the heavy wooden furniture and bland soft furnishings. It has a home from home atmosphere.

The complex is small with only ten apartments and it has an enclosed garden so it is very private. The pool is shared however with other residents chosing to visit the tourist attractions we had the pool to ourselves most days.

It's location is quiet but on the contrary is a short eight minute walk to the main strip giving us the benefit of choice.

The apartment terrace is large and the dividing wall is covered with flowers from a beautiful purple shrub.

Puerto Del Carmen has an abundance of facilities for all ages and its close proximity to Arrecife Airport makes it easily accessible.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is just in the right place in Puerto Del Carmen. Its in a quiet and peaceful area but withing easy walking distance of the main beach and strip while close enough to the Old Town and Harbour for leisurely evening walks.

The fully equipped kitchen means that if you chose to you can prepare all meals during your stay. Fridge/freezer is convenient for cold drinks and with the pool on you doorstep there is no need to wander from the apartment.

Notes on accommodation: Residential apartment block not a tourist complex. This is a no smoking apartment we request if you smoke that you do so outside. The apartment is quiet and peaceful and the secure gate and fully enclosed gardens give peace of mind. All properties are privately owned some are owner occupied while others are available to rent. Ground floor accommodation with large private terrace giving direct access to the pool. Outside: Fully enclosed mature tropical garden. Sun terrace and shared pool within 5m of the property. Apartment has a large private terrace with a small portable barbecue, dining table, parasol and four chairs complete with cushions. For your comfort and convenience we have two private sun loungers with padded covers. There is an outside light for evenings on the terrace. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen will be changed weekly. Other: Sun room to terrace with round table and wicker chairs. Book case with a good selection of paperbacks and DVDs.

Everything we could have wished for and more

A very well-equipped apartment with a shared lovely swimming pool. The weather was great and the food and alcohol were very cheap. Altogether we had a brilliant time and would definitely consider going back. To the people leaving negative reviews I would say "if you want the Ritz then pay for it".

Owner's Response: Constructive criticism is welcomed as it is what we require to improve our offering to our clients. The apartment is in a safe, secure and quiet location in Puerto del Carmen. It is also minutes from the beach, cafes, bars, restaurants and within ten to fifteen minutes from the harbour and old town. If you don't eat out every night there is a full equipped kitchen with oven, four ring hob, microwave etc. It's like a Home from Home and this and other reviews reflects this fact. Relax and enjoy your holidays at our apartment.

Mostly good, but some noise issues

Nice little apartment, well placed near to the centre and also easy to walk to old town. Very comfy bed and a great outside terrace( with sun loungers) that does get sun all day. The apartment is also very well equipped and we appreciated having a proper hob and oven. A great little supermarket is on the next block and stocks most things you may need. There is also an overseas supermarket a bit further down the road if you do miss any of your UK products which is next door to a really good takeaway(try the spinach patties). Thought the exterior key safe was a great idea so you always have a spare key available just in case.

Brenda was a star, keeping the apartment serviced every week and was also on hand to sort out any problems ( we had sky TV issue ).

What regrettably made us unable to score 5/5 was noise from the neighbours which in fairness is something I am not sure what Charles and Agnes can do to resolve. The complex is mainly residential with only a couple of the 10 apartments being for holiday purposes. This means people live here , go to work and have pets. We are very tolerable people but we did have occasions when we were affected by next door and upstairs who seem to be permanent residents. This said, we were blessed with wonderfully warm weather so that was a real bonus as we did not expect it to be so hot.

A Little Gem

We had a lovely comfortable holiday in this homely apartment. The apartment had everything we needed. It was well located in a quiet area but within easy reach of supermarkets, restaurants and bars. The apartment was cleaned weekly and fresh sheets and towels were provided - thank you Brenda. The owners were very helpful and answered our questions promptly. Having Brenda as a contact point locally in the case of problems was another plus.

We would have no hesitation in booking this apartment again or in recommending it to family and friends.

It has the very best of both worlds, in a quiet area safe and secure but within minutes of the main strip and beach. Having a local English speaking contact in Brenda certainly helps things run smoothly.

Peace an quite

We spent 3 weeks over xmas inThis wonderfull appartment in a lovely quite area but yet beside everything very centeral.the appartment is all you could need or want well laid out an spotless, kept that way by brenda (THANKS BRENDA) who comes in every week to change bedding towels etc.the outside terrace is a gem so well sheltered sun on it from early morning all day .even on a windy day we were able to lie out there an enjoy .the sun .also nice pool area there.

Would certantly return here an hope to.

Perfect holiday apartment

We stayed for 8 nights in this lovely apartment. The owners, Charles and Agnes are lovely to deal with and were most helpful and replied promptly to all my emails and queries. Their apartment is located in a quiet area and close enough for a short walk to supermarkets, shops, and the many cafes and restaurants in Puerto del Carmen. The apartment is very well equipped with everything we would have needed although we didn't do any cooking, we were on holiday! Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe, which isn't always the case. It was very comfortable and homely, not like a lot of holiday lets which are very impersonal, and clearly this apartment is well cared for and clean. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio area which does get the sunshine all day however there is also a shady bit for most of the time too. It is not overlooked and we hardly saw anyone else at all. We also watched some of the DVD's provided in the evening whilst relaxing on the comfortable settee with a gin and tonic and read a couple of the books from the bookshelf.

All in all we had a very relaxing holiday which is exactly what we wanted and would certainly recommend this lovely apartment to anyone. Hope to be back again in the not too distant future. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Booking Notes:
A 25% non refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure the apartment for the dates required. The balance is due no later than eight (8) weeks prior to departure. Holidays booked within eight weeks of departure are payable in full at time of booking.

Changeover Day:
Changeover days are flexible as is arrival and departure time depending on arriving parties. Normally we would ask you to vacate at 10am with arrivals at 2pm in order to facilitate cleaning of apartment. We will try to accommodate all requirements.

Notes on prices:
Price is from £245 UK Pounds for two people staying seven nights. Additional person(s) will be accommodated at £35 each with a maximum occupancy of four. Shorter stays can be discussed at enquiry.
