Apartment in Kalkan, Mediterranean Region, Turkey - Relaxing And Quiet Yet With Easy And Unusually Flat Walk To Super Town Centre.

This property offers total relaxation within easy walk of town - however hot it may be. You can relax in a private, paved garden area with a variety of furniture yet only a few yards from one of the less used of 5 pools (of use to all guests) within this sought after low rise complex. The secluded garden allows you to have as much or as little sun as you wish whilst the attractive stone cladding ensures that the well equipped, tasteful apartment remains temperate. The apartment will sleep four but in all honesty is better providing ample space and facility for twio. We can accommodate any start and finish day of the week to suit your flights. The apartment has air-conditioning.

About the Owner

Both my husband and I are in our 60's. We bought the apartment 2005 and return at least twice a year. Our children, likewise use the apartment and love the location. I retired early and now concentrate on playing golf two or three times a week. I have enjoyed extensive travel to different countries, but consider Kalkan to be the most relaxing place to chill out.

Fantastic apartment

The apartment is set in a very pretty complex. The apartment has its own garden space and has everything you need provided for a lovely holiday. We hadn't appreciated quite how close to the pool we were which was really handy for those cooling dips.We don't normally stay in an apartment with a shared pool, but I would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay again. We enjoyed the social interaction with other guests and we were only 5 minutes to the centre of Kalkan which was a definite bonus. Sybil the owner was lovely to deal with and was very quick to respond to any enquiries. We did not want to leave

We have stayed in Kalkan, in various apartments in the old town for 7 years, this one is the best yet, it has everything you could possible want or need. The owners have thought of everything and are so helpful, as are Rambo and Sharon who look after the apartment. We have just requested this apartment for next year , it is really that good.

Great apartment

This was our 4th trip to Kalkan but our first stay in this apartment. We stayed here the first week in August 2015 after deciding on a last minute break with our two daughters (20 and 22). We were not disappointed. All very clean and well equipped, but the highlight was the garden space, almost private we could enjoy alfresco meals and drinks outside our door, and with only a few steps to the pool it was ideal. The Mediterranean Apartments are also in a great location close to town which for those who don't know Kalkan is very important. The apartment is one bedroom but as a family it worked well for us. Sybil the owner was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely come back here.

Superb month

Very well equipped, centrally located and spotless apartment. Lovely spacious garden area with plenty of seating ideal for barbecuing. Everything is as it looks on the photos. Already booked for next year.

Great location

Perfectly located apartment on the Mediterranean complex, just a short walk from all you need for a great holiday. Well equipped, nicely set out and very comfortable with a super private garden space with extra comfy sun beds. The owner is particularly nice to deal with. Would recommend highly to others and hope to visit again in the future.

Great Holiday

My daughter and I decided to have a 'girl's' break in Kalkan and chose this apartment because of its nearness to the town and the description sounded ideal. Booking with the owner was straightforward and all questions were answered promptly and in a friendly way.

We arrived in the early hours and were very pleased to see the welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, large bottle of water and biscuits.

The apartment had everything we needed and we particularly loved the private garden. As well as the comfy sunbeds, the big outdoor beanbags were great for a doze in the shade.

The supermarket is only a short stroll away and the numerous restaurants not much further.

We would definitely recommend this apartment for a peaceful, relaxing holiday that is also close to amenities.

My husband and I just fell in love with Kalkan and still find it such a relaxing place and very focussed on English people of our age. Kalkan retains its charm and is one of those places that even people who usually do not holiday twice in the same place keep going back to!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Dalaman at 120 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : Kas at 28 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Kalkan at 1 Kilometres Car: not necessary


It is a 5 minute down hill walk to Kalkan's pretty harbour and a further 5 minutes to well equipped and popular town beach. Many beach clubs are within easy reach with free transport provided. Super walks around Kalkan are ideal for evening strolls. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, there is more challenging walking along the Lycian Way.


Nearest airport is Dalaman (1.5 hours) another option is Antalya (3 to 4 hours).

Journey from and to airport is easy by private taxi or hire car. Visa needs to be purchased online before entry.


Five minutes walk from Kalkan town centre or harbour.

Kas is approximately 18 miles and Fethiye about 50 miles.

Beach clubs are within a few minutes by taxi/water ferry.

Beautiful Patarra beach (rated world class) and nature reserve is 8 miles away.

Any number of ancient sites to be explored.

Further Details:

Kalkan has plenty of shops and a market (Thursday) allowing you wide choice of food from modern day convenience to traditional Turkish. There is also a wide variety of other shops offering clothing, jewelery and anything else you could want at a wide range of competitive prices. A mass of restaurants from the seafront eating houses for a special occasion to those places where the locals eat and plenty in between to suit all pallets/wallets. Being so close to town is ideal if you want to nip to the shops to get that certain something you forgot to buy for the evening BBQ. Likewise to stole down to the beach for a swim or have lunch at the marina and then back to the apartment which has a private garden that gives an unequaled outdoor sitting facility. Set on the side of the apartment complex it tends to be quieter, getting daytime sunshine but also places to rest in the shade. Its so convenient, being on the ground floor, close to the pool for a dip but also being able to nip in to the apartment for that well earned drink.

  • Notes on accommodation: In addition to the standard security features this property benefits from wrought iron security on both doors and windows. This is no smoking apartment. Owner accepts no responsibility for injury to persons or loss/damage to your property except any statutory obligations. Although better than in the past there can be interruptions to the water & electricity supply on rare occasions in Kalkan - like other owners I cannot accept liability for any of these that might inconvenience you. You will be asked, please, for your flights details to enable tracking of any last minute changes to your timetable. Outside: Sizeable garden for this type of property and almost entirely paved offering ample space for outside dining table and four chairs, two large sun loungers, (with extra comfy cushions), 2 umbrellas and two comfortable bean bags. Beautiful flowering and scented bougainvillea adds to the relaxing atmosphere and the location allows you to have as much sun as you like or if it gets too hot plenty of shade. All areas of communal space ie: around the 5 pool areas can be used by all guests/residence. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Full set of bed and kitchen linen with towels including beach and bathroom towels. Ample for two people - extra charge for extra linen and towels. Linen changed weekly by maid service if required for any stay over one week.
