The Mar Menor lagoon is Europe's largest, formed by a 22km sandbank. The lagoon's crystal clear, shallow waters, with an average temperature of 23C are ideal for families. Water sports on offer include sailing, diving, water skiing, jet ski hire, snorkeling and scuba diving. The Murcia region is famous for its golf courses. The 18 hole golf course at Mar Menor is part of the Jack Nicklaus golf trail. There are numerous other renowned courses nearby. The region enjoys approximately 325 days of sunshine each year. Murcia: San Javier Airport (MJV) - 25km/14 miles away. The local town and beach of Los Alcazares is approximately 5km away. Los Alcazares is a vibrant seaside town with 4km of unspoilt sandy beaches on the safe shallow waters of the Mar Menor, perfect for the family. The town of Los Alcazares is steeped in history, dating back to the Romans and subsequently the strong Moorish influence can still be seen today in the town centre.

About Georgina Wakjer

Having spend many years holidaying in Spain where our parents were living we decided it was time we had a place to call our own. Enjoying the sunshine, local cuisine and friendly atmosphere has made it most worthwhile. It is now time to share this lovely apartment with others who I am sure will appreciate the surroundings.

We love Los Alcazares because of the fantastic facilities in the area. There are some beautiful beaches and a great range of bars and restaurants. There really is something for everyone here.

Loved the area, the beaches and all it had to offer.

The apartment is central to the Mar Menor area, enabling us to travel either to the City or the coastal resorts locally. Fresh fish and vegetables from the local markets are a must! It is a short drive from the Airport, (approx 15 minutes), so after a short flight you can be sitting on the terrace and relaxing in the sun, bliss!

What makes this apartment unique

Very useful for the golf course, just open the front door and walk to the first tee! A short walk to the supermarket, approximately five minutes, and the Intercontinental Hotel and Clover Bar if you fancy a lunchtime snack/meal. The pool is within a few yards of the our terrace.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment can accommodate up to six persons. There is a double sofa-bed in the lounge. Bed linen is provided for the sofa-bed, please advise if required upon booking. The apartment has patio furniture and 4 sunloungers. Prices are per weekend/night in UK pounds. Please note there is a minimum of a 3 night stay. Discount for long winter lets and late deal discounts available. If a cot or high chair is required please advise upon booking. Please note that cot linen is not provided and you will need to bring your own supply. Short breaks welcome, subject to availability during the busy Summer months. Please note that the owners accept no liability for any loss/damage to personal property or personal injury that may occur whilst renting this apartment. Outside: There is a barbecue, patio table and chairs, plus 4 sun loungers. There are two communal pools, one large for adults and a smaller shallow pool for children. There are showers available by the pool. Utility Room: NA Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. The property can be mid-stay cleaned if required on a two week and stay. Towels for the beach and pool use should be brought from home. Other: Views over the lush gardens, pool and golf course from the terrace.

Great apartment for 2 week family holiday

We are just back from a fantastic 2 week holiday at Mar Menor Golf staying in this lovely apartment. It is perfectly located and has a very welcoming home from home feel about it. It is ground floor so great for accessing the pool will a lovely terrace to sit out on in the early evening. It has everything you could need to accommodate a young family with English cartoon channels along with most Uk freeview channels too. It was very clean an well stocked with towels and bedding. We had great communication with Georgina and also John the agent was on site (although we had no need to speak to him until checkout I'm sure he would have helped in anything we needed). We would thoroughly recommend the property and will be back next year.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beaches are at Los Alcazares which is a short drive away, approximately ten minutes. The white sandy beach is beautiful, regularly cleaned and ideal for sunbathing and swimming. There are 'foot' showers available as well as shaded areas for those who are wheelchair bound/disabled. There are numerous tapas bars and cafes along the promenade and in the town centre, many restaurants, bars etc.

There is a large market on Tuesdays which will cater to all your culinary requirements.

Travel:

The nearest airport is at San Javier which is approximately 15 minutes drive from the apartment. Car hire is available from the Airport, Europcar, Hertz etc. Car hire is recommended as you may then explore the surround areas.

Distances:

The recently restored Roman Amphitheatre and a Museum can be explored in the historic City of Cartagena which is a 20 minutes drive via a modern toll free highway. Cartagena also offers a modern town atmosphere with a busy port, great shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Murcia City is approximately 30 minutes drive with its vibrant city atmosphere. The shopping centres of Dos Mares is approximately 20 minutes from the resort and the outlet shopping Parc Mediterraneo is just before you reach Cartagena.

Further Details:

Torre Pacheco is a short drive in-land. There are many Banks, shops and restaurants to cater for all your needs.
