Easily accessed from a variety of different airports in Austria, as it is on the main train line between Austria and Italy. Extensive skiing locally for all levels easily accessed by shuttle bus, many more resorts within a 1 hour drive all on the same ski pass

Apartment is located in a small development on the valley floor close to a river walk. This river walk links the towns of Bad gastein and Bad Hofgastein.

A Great place to stay in the Gastien Valley

This is an accommodation, we strongly recommended.


The apartment:

Clean and fresh with the accessories for cooking to be expected of a holiday home. We were a family of 6 people and did us nicely with the accessories that were available

Sleeping accommodations for up to 8 people, divided into three rooms allow rest without being disturbed by the rest of the travelers worked fine. There were extra bulbs to replace those that are broken, this is a small thing that is very much appreciated.

Contact with owner:

Here is the real big plus with this accommodation.

We have rented several apartments around Europe and feel when the owner really wants the guest to enjoy their stay and take their responsibility as providers seriously.

It is definitely so in this case.

Key Handover:

The service with the local key holder worked great.

As we drove a long way, we could not say the exact arrival time.

We visited the address we received but the key holder was not there at the time.

A quick phone call and he showed up within 5 minutes.

The surrounding area:

The apartment is located in a quiet area with very good parking facilities.

It was easy to unload the skis, snowborads and other packing without getting in the way of other drivers. Bakeries are within 5 min walk and they also serve good coffee from Italian coffee machine. A good start to the day with a walk, a little coffee and then go back with freshly baked bread.

It is nice to walk into the center of Bad Gastein in two different ways.

The one that runs along the river is spectacular, but should be used with caution mainly in winter when it can be slippery in places.

The more safe walking route is the village streets.

It is also possible to walk recycl other way to Bad Hofgastein on a promenade without cars.

There are ski buses within a few minutes walk.

We choose, for practical reasons to take the car to the lifts.

Bad Gastien as a destination:

The village, or rather the valley has excellent Skiing for most skiers.

The marked slopes are mostly blue and red with some black which works well for groups with different skills.

There are great off-piste area mainly in Sport Gastien for free riders.

Lifts and service functions flawlessly and the system has a very high capacity.

Food available for purchase both in supermarkets and in restaurants. SPAR up at the train station have it all good prices.

Food out at restaurants is available in everything from kebabs from a hole in the wall to luxurious restaurant.
