Overview

About the property

Villa in Kas, Mediterranean Region, Turkey - Large Property With Idyllic Sea And Mountain Views

Set in an idyllic rural location, Villa Be Happy is a unique and stylish villa with stunning views of the Taurus Mountains and the Greek island of Meis in the distance. Lovingly restored by the owner from the ruins of a very old village house, the traditional Turkish style of the building has been preserved. While authentic Turkish furnishings have been used throughout, this house is also fitted with all the modern fittings to make it a luxurious holiday retreat. This is a large property and the spacious layout of Villa Be Happy makes it an ideal choice for families or groups holidaying together. There are two wings in the villa with three distinct levels on each, containing 5x large bedrooms in total. An extraordinary feature is the large swimming pool and surrounding gardens which provide the most glorious natural setting for relaxation and enjoyment – enjoy it by settling in the shade of the almond trees, cooking on the outside barbecue or soaking up the sun by the pool.

About Louise Johnstone

My husband and I have lived in Kas for many years and own a shop in the town. Over the past three years a lot of energy and love has gone into building these units and landscaping the gardens. We want our visitors to love this peaceful retreat as much as we do and to ‘be happy’ that they have visited us.

Louise Johnstone purchased this villa in 2007

Why Louise Johnstone chose Turkey

We have lived in the Kas area for many years, but this situation slightly out of town is peaceful and unspoilt.

What makes this villa unique

This is a large property, like no other in this area. The layout and space of the villa and surrounds makes it ideal for larger groups because no-one will feel overcrowded. Relaxation, quiet, nature and a great place to hang out with friends and family.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our villa is new for the 2011 season so we will add comments here as soon as we receive them. We look forward to receiving your feedback.

Wonderful two weeks in Kas

  • 5 of 5

We have had the best holiday in Villa Be Happy, two weeks with our whole family of 8. There is plenty of space, great views and a lovely pool. The photos really don't do it justice.

You do need a car but there is a good walk (about 2km) to a small beach and it's only 5 mins in a car to town. Here you will get everything you need and there are some great restaurants. Local taxis are cheep too if you fancy a drink.

The best thing about it has to be Louise who is a generous and warm host. She met us with the keys but was also helpful with recommendations. She was also on hand and calm in the face of a small medical emergency (don't ask, clumsy husband). Ask her about cooking courses too which was great fun.

Looking forward to next year already.

Villa Be Happy lives up to its name! We arrived late at night but the squeals of delight as we explored our new home summed up our feelings. For once the photos listed do not do this villa justice.

This beautiful multi-level timbered building conjures up shades of Swiss Family Robinson, coupled with Ottoman elegance. Everything is superb; the decor, the views, the wonderful pool and the fantastic rural location. The love and care that the owners have put in to this villa is apparent in every part of the building and grounds. All the little extras show that this is more than a business to them.

True, you need a car, however you need transport if you stay on the peninsula and this location is far superior and much more tranquil.

We picked grapes, lemons and limes. Ate fresh almonds and used the lovely herbs in our salads. Pomegranates were ripening as we left!

We can not recommend this villas enough and will be back next year to enjoy another fantastic holiday in Kas.

We were happy at Villa be Happy

  • 5 of 5

Wonderfully renovated and special stone house in the hills at Bayindir- 10 mins from Kas. You really need a car, but the rural location and views are quite unique. Family of 10, 3 generations -a great pool, sheep's bells, goats, squirrels, tortoises and more! Very comfortable, air con. many antiques in the house. Plenty of ancient sites, gulets for snorkelling in and near Kas - and paragliding! The town of Kas has numerous good restaurants and is still not totally overrun with tourists. We loved our holiday there in June 2014.
