You’ll find our apartment on the 3rd floor of Le Village de Lessy - the MGM built development in the heart of Le Chinaillon in Haute Savoie, right in the middle of all the skiing. MGM properties are renowned for their quality of build, and the apartment is finished to a very high standard. A large, dual aspect south facing balcony offers spectacular views both up and down the valley and across to the skiing. The apartment is very conveniently placed for the main supermarket, shops, tourist office and restaurants in the village. Major motorways are 30 minutes away and Geneva can be reached in around an hour. Skiing is suitable for all levels – beginners/intermediates/families and the slightly more adventurous. It is easily accessed via a lift behind the tourist office opposite the apartment. The Haute Savoie is a charming and friendly region - picturesque, sporting, artistic and cultured - all set within the natural beauty of the mountains.

Coast/Beach:

There is an outside swimming pool at Le Grand Bornand with a safe toddler area. Lake Annecy hosts a number of lakeside beaches and is only a 45 minute drive away. The river in Le Grand Bornand is great for paddling in – if a little cold!

Travel:

Geneva airport is about an hour's drive away and is served by many low cost airlines. Car hire is available at the airport as are coaches. Taxi firms are also able to pick up and collect from the airport but are rather more pricey. We recommend you have a car.

Distances:

Le Grand Bornand 10 minutes.

La Clusaz 15 minutes.

Annecy 45 minutes.

Geneva 60 minutes

Chamonix 75 minutes.

The drive from Calais is about 520 miles.

Further Details:

The main Spar supermarket is on the ground floor of Le Village de Lessy so couldn’t be more convenient. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance of the apartment and during the summer months a Sunday market is held in Le Chinaillon. La Bournerie is well worth a visit and can be easily seen on the hillside from the balcony. Le Grand Bornand contains some fabulous gift shops and lots of restaurants serving local specialties. Market day is on a Wednesday in Le Grand Bornand and a visit is a must. Wherever you go you won’t be able to get away from Reblochon – the local cheese or Tartiflette, another regional specialty. The Haute Savoie is a cyclist’s dream. Mountain biking trails (VTT) and on-road rides are abundant. Le Col de Colombiere at 1613 m alt is just up the road. Climbing is also available both in winter and summer. Chamomix/Mont Blanc is only 75 minutes away by car and is well worth a visit at any time of the year. Mont Blanc can be accessed from Chamonix by cable car or by train. There is also a tramway from St Gervais which accesses the glacier during both the summer and winter month. Visits are obviously weather dependent and you are advised to check local timetables but are well worth the effort. Le Grand Bornand is a centre for Paragliding and trips can easily be booked from the little hut near to the crazy golf. Trampolining, tennis courts, archery, and pony rides are also available in the summer months and Le Grand Bornand/Chinaillon hosts 'Le Bonheur des Momes' – an international festival dedicated to children in the third week of August every year. There are of course the most stunning mountain walks to be had in this part of the world ranging from a couple of hours to 1 or even 5-6 days staying in mountain refuges with guides. The fabulous lakeside town of Annecy is just a 45 minute drive a way and is always worth a visit. Lively, cultural, artistic – Annecy is a great place to spend a day.

Booking Notes:
Bookings are confirmed when a booking form is returned with a 25% reservation fee paid. There is also a 350 euro damages deposit to be paid. The balance will be due 8 weeks prior to the holiday. Linen is not included but can be hired at an additional cost per person. You are welcome to bring your own linen should you prefer.

Changeover Day:
Preferred changeover day is Saturday but we can be flexible - please ask.
Guests must vacate the apartment by 10.00am and may arrive any time after 4.00pm.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is heated by highly efficient electric radiators. Smoking and pets are not permitted in the apartment. Weekly passes are available to allow use of the adjacent Pool and gym facilities, plus 10% off any spa treatments. Please ask for prices if interested. Outside: The large south facing balcony contains a table, 4 chairs, fold away drying rack and a Lafuma reclining chair which is perfect in summer (or in winter if wrapped up in a blanket in the sunshine!) Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Upon arrival the apartment will have been professionally cleaned and will be cleaned again at the end of your stay. Other: Secure underground parking space, leading to ski boot/locker room.
