A couple of minutes walk to the sandy beach, restaurants and amenities of this quaint fishing village. The apartment has sea views from both floors; a Juliet balcony from the first floor living room and a large, sunny private terrace with stunning sea views from the second floor master bedroom - a perfect place for a relaxing glass of wine and a stress free holiday. Three electric (oil filled) heaters available in the apartment. Outside: The apartment has an amazing terrace on the second floor accessible from the master bedroom with sea views. Plenty of space to comfortably sit four people around the outside terrace table. Two high quality sun loungers and parasol add to the relaxation on the terrace. There is ample free parking available on the road outside the apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels are provided except beach towels. Linen and towels are changed weekly. Apartment is cleaned at the end of each week. For stays of 10 nights or less property does not have a mid-stay clean. Other: Two quality sun loungers and a parasol are available for use on the terrace as well as a dining table and four chairs

Wonderful place

We were wowed as soon as we walked into this lovely home. It's classed as an apartment technically but it's basically a house with an open plan and very spacious downstairs (far more so than the pictures suggest), twin room and family bathroom downstairs and upstairs bedroom with ensuite and balcony with sea views.

What we liked:

Everything just works! Huge pressurised hot water tank so you can run both showers at once, which is great when there are 4 of you who have just come off the beach! Lovely bathrooms, with great showers. Kitchen with everything you need to self cater. Big fridge. Beach gear to borrow. Washing machine. Just everything you need really.

Firm but really comfy beds, especially the double upstairs.

Lovely village. Burgau is what the Algarve should be. Not touristy but still plenty of places to eat, super little village shop, friendly, a delight to walk around in the evening.

Location: in an unspoilt part of the Algarve with easy access to the very best beaches on the south and west (surf!) coasts.

What we didn't like:

Going home to the cold!

Don't miss:

Warm bread and pastries from the local shop in the mornings or the wine selection downstairs!

The van selling fresh fish everyday, just round the corner

The beaches - explore - there are so many

Caves at Benagil and Praia Marinha nearby

If you can book this place for your dates, I can't recommend it highly enough.

great holidays

We are back from an 10-days-stay in this wonderful house. It is well equipped (sometimes more than expected) and has the best terrace in town. You can sit there windshielded with a wonderful view with your green wine.

Everything (beach, restaurants, shops) are within a 5-min-walk.

Thanks to the host Michele, who answered all of our questions within a day and provided us with useful information.

We would like to come back!

Lovely appartment in perfect location

The appartment is beautiful, spacious and everything was as described. The location is just perfect, a few minutes on foot to the beach, shops and restaurants. Michele and Malcom are perfect hosts, every question is quickly answered and there is a lot of helpful information in the appartment. It is lovingly furnished and feels just like home. We would definitely recommend it and will be back.

Great apartment in lovely village

The apartment is well-located for shops and restaurants, in a quiet environment, not quite 5 minutes on foot to the beach. The apartment has everything you need, soap, toilet paper, bin bags... everything was provided for. When the shower head broke and we gave notice to the manager, it was repaired without any questions within the day. On top, there are games, DVDs and beach utensils, so you don't have to bring anything.

Michele was really very helpful and friendly.

We absolutely recommend the apartment, the handling is extremely professional - which we enjoyed a lot.

Fantastic apartment in a great location

We have just returned from a 9 night stay in this fantastic apartment. Before we even booked the apartment the owner Michele was incredibly helpful and answered all of my many questions!

We hired a car at the airport and found Burgau a good base for exploring further afield - we visited Lagos zoo and the Splash and Slide water park.

Burgau is a lovely, unspoilt visit with a very family friendly feel. The apartment is in a great location for the local shops, restaurants and for the beach. The terrace is really peaceful and has amazing views out to sea. We found the apartment had everything you need with regard to utensils, etc for food preparation and also had plenty of bits and bobs for the beach (sun parasol, beach mats, buckets and spades etc) as well as a bank of DVDs, books and board games.

If you get the chance to visit this property take it!!!!

Location

Coast/Beach:

The beautiful sandy beach at Burgau is only 2 minutes walk. Lovely coastal walks direct from the village. A short drive to stunning west coast beaches and plenty of great surfing spots. Nearby the resort of Luz offers water sports. High quality golf resorts a short drive.

Travel:

Faro airport is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes drive away on the A22 motorway. A hire car is recommended although details can be provided for airport transfers.

Distances:

5 minutes by car to Praia de Luz and 15 minutes drive to Lagos. Buses available direct from Burgau to both towns. 10 minutes drive to Salema village. Sagres and Cape St Vincent approximately 30 minutes drive. Monchique mountains and spa approximately 40 minutes drive away.

Further Details:

Burgau is a pretty seaside village with lovely beach. There are a number of restaurants in the village serving a good range of quality food from traditional Portuguese to pizza and pasta. There are also a few bars in the village. Local amenities include two mini markets, a wine shop (with a great range of port), a cash point machine and a fresh fish market in the centre (by the bus stop) open early in the morning. There is also a local sports centre on the edge of the village offering a range of leisure facilities (tennis, squash, yoga and aerobics) as well as sport activity mornings for the kids. Larger supermarkets, banks and post offices are available in Luz and Lagos. Medical facilities and a pharmacy are available in Luz. The nearest hospital is located in Lagos.

50% initial deposit to confirm booking with balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. A security deposit of £150 (180 euros) is required for all bookings at time of balance. This will be refunded within 14 days of your return in full or with appropriate deduction for any damage/breakages/lost keys during the stay. Payments can be made by bank transfer, cheque or Paypal in sterling although provision is made for Euro payment if necessary. Credit card payment is not available.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible where possible. Check in from 2:00pm. On departure date property to be vacated by 10:00am. Late checks outs may be arranged subject to availability.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds for up to 4 persons sharing. Shorter stays may be available at certain times with price available on request.
