English speaking owners live on site in main farmhouse. Suitable for all year round use with full electric heating included and wood-burner fire, ideal for chilly evenings and winter breaks. All linen provided. Initial basic supplies of tea/coffee, milk, fresh bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper, French cheese and bottle of wine are all included and will be waiting in your gite for your arrival. Cleaning materials provided. First basket of chopped wood included. Separate secure storage is available for bikes, surf boards, fishing tackle and roof racks etc. Glass front door opens on to small, secluded terrace garden with views and walks to river, woods and surrounding countryside.
Following unexpected redundancy; too young for retirement and wanting new challenges, we agreed a new home in Brittany could offer the space and more relaxed country lifestyle we had both enjoyed before the family responsibilities and demanding professions!
We both have links with farming and with some renovating experience, we sold our Hampshire home and moved in to our Breton property ‘Penlan Huella’ Nov 2009 - shortly followed by the animals. We hope to bring new life back to the farm and its 7.5 acres of surrounding fields and woodland.We've converted two traditional stone farm buildings in to holiday Gites.
With our interests in photography, wildlife, farming, animals, gardening and enjoying time and space with family and friends, our new lifestyle is meeting all our objectives.

We wanted rural but not too isolated. Somewhere our family and friends could visit easily without too much travelling or expense and somewhere to keep us busy but nothing over ambitious. We had a list of clear objectives and stuck to it!
Its a very rural spot, but local active villages are only a few miles away. The general area has excellent and quiet road networks making driving easy, direct and pleasurable. Roscoff ferry port is less than one hour’s drive and Brest airport is only half an hour’s drive. Access from the UK can be very quick and easy.
It may be rural, but we have excellent modern communication systems. Our broadband, UK television and telephone connections are better than we experienced in Hampshire!
The gites have been designed for couples to relax in a generously spacious environment within a beautiful country location. Far reaching views from the south west facing Gites can be enjoyed through your windows, doors and outdoor areas. Wooded, riverside or open country walks on road or off-road cycling all possible from the doorstep. Within a few minutes’ drive from the Gites, you can be enjoying the beautiful Breton countryside, the beaches, fishing and harbor towns or inland villages. There is something of everything.
Deposit of 75 euro (or sterling equivalent) is required to secure a booking. Booking form available on owners website or please contact the owners directly. Full payment required at minimum of 8 weeks prior to arrival.
Arrival day is flexible subject to availability. Please arrive between 4pm and 6pm and depart before 10am.

Excellent Gite, Position wonderful and the cottage was very well furnished with everything you could need. We were given a very warm welcome from Richard and Claire and enjoyed sitting in the garden in perfect quiet in the sun. The area was well suited to travel to other parts of Brittany, which was ideal for us as we previously lived in Central Brittany and were able to revisit some old haunts.
